Sir ,why was the presidential form of government not adopted?
Was the reason only that India was running on parliamentary system before independence , why did we not change this???
Yes, and the other reason was that at that time the, situation in India was unstable as many things were taking place due to which the leaders were not sure about this big change in government
Thankyou very muchhhhhh sir 💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sir is President a part of executive or legislature or both?? Please clarify
Hy everyone, i have a doubt sir said that because the priminister enjoys the confidence of directly elected representatives that's why he is real head executive but if this is the reason of the power of priminister then why president is not having that much power even when he is elected by the directly elected representative of lok sabha and vidhan sabha and indirectly elected representatives of rajya sabha. If anyone knows the answer please let me know . Thank you 🙂🙂
Can someone advice for any good online subscription for upsc prepration ? Is unacademy good?
Yes...i m also plus subscriber of unacademy...
Sir absolute veto is just refusing to give assent? So is this not contradictory to provisions that president is bound to give assent at first or second time? Little confused.. Is it he can use absolute veto many times he want?
@Harshal Pathak ohk got it..
But one more thing.. What's the meaning of WITHHOLDING the assent.. As the literal meaning is to reject.. And this option to withhold is written in each case of president assents.. Pls clear
Withhold means he can keep the bill with himself without giving assent and the bill become null and void by president on 2 reasons - 1- if the bill is of private member i.e not a member of ucom 2- if cabinet resigns and new cabinet advises him to not give assent so in above two conditions no violation of binding effect took place on him

Article 54 and 55 dealing with the election of the president...
A president do not elected directly by the people but by the electoral colleges consisting of the,
1-all the elected members of both the houses of parliament
2-all the elected members of the state legislative Assemblies
3- all the elected members of the union territories of the legislative assembly of
delhi and puducherry ...
All these can participate in the election of president....

👉The first & only president who died in the office, was Dr.ZAKIR HUSSAIN.He was also the president with the shortest tenure.
As You Said that one of the qualifications should be not to hold any office of profit . but the term office of profit remains undefined in the constitution? What to do with this matter?
Laxmikant 17.4
should not hold union govt, state govt or any local authority or any public authority.
Office of profit is defined in various cases. One such is satrucharia case in which various grounds have been laid down which tells whether a person is working in the office of profit or not. These grounds are;
1. What are the functions performed by the appointee ?
2. Are these functions performed for the state?
3. Is state eligible to remove the holder from such post?
4. What is the source of salary whether paid by the state or not?
You can google full judgement. There are various other judgements in which these grounds are identified

Governer calls single largest party or pre poll alliance to form government only in the matter of States (province)
at first lecture seems good and crisp ...but he happens to leave crucial portion ...so refer book dt entirely depend on him

Good evening sir ,
Firstly let me thank you for sharing such a great knowledge with us and explaining it with such an ease .
Sir can your start serious on law optional , for our guidance .

Once again thank you sir .
Law optional is very much different ...so u cannot expect from every tearcher m also searching for such guidance

Doubt :-
Elected members of Legislative Councils do not participate in “election of the President” since they are themselves indirectly elected by the members of Legislative Assemblies.
Then, how come elected MPs of Rajya Sabha take part in “election of the President” when they are also elected by the elected members of Legislative Assemblies?
Since every state does not have a legislative council, so if members of legislative council participated in the election of President there would be a imbalance of representation of citizens of state.
Vacancy - Article 62.
Article 65 has been mentioned pl clarify
Sir please make a video on NITI Aayog
It's already there bro in his playlist
There should be option of opting one subject like polity as I want and amount should be reduced drastically because I don't other so please make subject wise option it's humble request
can the speaker or chairman of LS/RS reject the impeachment motion against president (like VP Naidu rejects impeachment motion against CJI DIPAK MISRA ) ???
No they can't it is moved when 1/10 members of any house should sign the charges and is passed with 2/3 majority from both house. So speaker/chairman has no role in it
Owsome lecture
thank you💜
plz add video on veto powers of president

Or not?
Please reply me sir

Yes he has veto power and it was used in 1956 by president zail singh
No power veto,
Yet suspensive and absolute veto.
None have qualified veto

Why president have veto power
Can state council participate in the voting of President?
No
Sir, Pardoning powers are the executive power and not judicial one. While exercising these powers prez is not acting like a court/ tribunal.
