She likes to climb on her family and thinks of herself as a queen. It's not her fault at all, but it feels like her siblings have to grow up fast to be able to support her, and she can be as naughty as any young sibling.
I don't doubt that their love for Lazi is real, and they're doing their best, but kids with disabled siblings need some time to be themselves.

@@theotherther1the video is about Lazi. The siblings aren’t supposed to be showing off themselves. Lazis sister clearly does gymnastics or something like it, I don’t think Lazi overshadows her siblings. Then again neither you or I know anything outside of this video so we have no idea!😅

@@theotherther1ya know, I agree. But the reality is, we can't choose our families. And what are her parents supposed to do? The fact they make her an important part of their family in spite of her disability is actually quite beautiful. A lot of us have to grow up early because of trauma etc. So these kids aren't special. Their trauma happens to be their disabled sister. So be it. It teaches us and helps us grow as humans. It is sad, I agree. We all wish the kids could grow up without any trauma, but that isn't reality. They seem more mature because they have this sister who has taught them a lot about real life.... Difficulties, unfairness, judgement, etc. But then again, we all experience this in life in general.. so the fact they have a sibling they love can help them be wonderful humans in the long run. That's what I hope at least!!!

@@theotherther1 Of course, having a disabled sibling also has an effect, but when I look at their mother, it doesn't surprise me that their children behave this way. Their mother is very calm and knows what she's doing, it's normal for her children to look like her under normal circumstances. But Lazi's situation is different, her mother said she should know that she is beautiful , they pampered her a little more because she knows that life will treat her differently when she grows up,when she outside. She may be spending more time with her(I don't think so) but I don't think the other children are in the background, just Lazi is different.

@@theotherther1 the sister seems liek shes doing just fine. it seems like she actually takes inititive in protecting her sister, like going up to kid's parents and telling them to stop staring. It seems like she has a lot of confidence as well as Liza, and thats a really good sign to see. We cant infer too much about their whole sibling dynamic from just a video like this.

Hearing her say, it hurts her when people stare. That broke my heart. Parents just don’t teach their kids empathy. I only had polio. It was rough, I quit school and we moved out of the small town the next week because I was teased. A group of girls were gonna beat me up. It made no sense I went back to school after we moved. I didn’t look different. I just walked different. I am a retired widow now, and that behavior affected me my whole life, and still does somewhat. I blame most of the parents. One advice I'd really like to offer parents is when a child says something negative to your child, correct them in a kind and loving way whenever possible. For example, to the little boy at the bouncy house, you could say "Lots of people look different from each other. It's okay for people to look different. It's more important to be a nice person who uses nice words."
And, talk to your child's class each year (plus her siblings classes). Educate them in terms they will understand about your daughter's condition. Let them know that some very special kids in the world are born to look different from others, so they can teach people to love each other for who we are inside and not for how we look. Ask them questions like "would yoy like it if a friend of yours said ______, or told you ______?" And, "How does it make you feel when someone says something nice to you. Or when someone sticks up for you when someone else says something mean?" Things like that. Also, volunteer in each child's classroom every once in awhile. Try to catch a child being kind to another then praise them for it (like, "Guess what? I saw you help _____ with ____. I think you're awesome! What a good person you are!").
Empathy can be taught. In fact, it NEEDS to be taught! Teachers don't often see or hear what goes on on the playground.
A friend of mine has a daughter who, unfortunately, suddenly began having grand mal seizures at the age of 8. It's hereditary in her case. She had one in a morning assembly at school, so it wasn't just her classmates, but the entire school who witnessed this!
Thankfully her mom was volunteering that day and could help her daughter with the emotional impact of this afterwards. My friend also saw that the kids were scared about what happened and later learned kids were avoiding her daughter. So, she arranged a time with the teacher to talk about Epilepsy and what happened. She asked if the kids were afraid about it and if they were afraid they could "catch" this from her daughter. They all said yes. She said she'd be afraid, too, if she saw someone having a seizure for the first time, too (in fact she was!).
Anyway, her talking to the class made a huge difference in helping kids come to terms with what happened. They started playing with her daughter again, too. I realize epilepsy is more of a hidden disability (once managed by meds), but the same concept applies: teach the kids at their level, so they won't be afraid. Let them know it's ok to be afraid of something that's not familiar to them but that they don't have to be afraid anymore. And, invite them to help their classmates when they see someone needs help (not just your daughter but any classmate who needs help).

I think when children are at a young age, they don’t realize their comments are hurtful. The child who said she looked like a monster probably didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. It sounds like it was around Halloween, when monster decorations may be up. It could be he saw one that had some feature that reminded him of her. I’m not saying it was okay that he said that. I’m just saying that children often say what is on their mind and have no filter. It doesn’t always come from a mean place. That being said, parents need to teach their kids not to say things like that, and to be accepting and understanding of people who look different than themselves.

100000% I absolutely love that instead of going to the child and getting mad at them for staring/curiosity, she lets their parents know about the issue and puts the onus of responsibility on the kids parent to do better and teach them about people who are different and how to be respectful. As a parent, that is something I really respect. good parenting right there, imo

As a heavily tattooed person myself, it is awesome to see her mother show her caring and nice personality as if the ink didn't show. The stigma on those are undeserved and both Lazi and her mother deserve the best!

This mom is a shining example of how you can lead by example. Her eldest daughter cares for her sister like she's her own, and there is no love deeper than that. It goes to show that it's what is on the inside that matters. I also have tattoos, and it's surprising how many people instantly judge on that as well. Bless this mom for her sweetness and the fact that she is teaching all her children to be accepting loving humans
