Do you have a reference for the 48 times more likely to be killed on a road bike compared to a car? A shocking number I think. I am definitely not on par with traffic accident numbers, but I would think that automobile related deaths and injury will be higher than cycling related.
Also worth mentioning that people who cycle to work have increased life expectancy - even factoring in the increased risk of fatality via traffic violence - because of the health benefits of an active commute.
at age 47 , i have ride motorcycles since i was 15 , before that skateboard , be riding bicycle every day for the last 10 years , never brake bone , got hit by car once , and i have ride in all weather i have ride drunk multiple times ,i have also injure my self few times with power tools and manual tools , well ok the raw food is stupid thig to do , spending couple of day with dearie and vomiting is not fun ,

I'm a pretty fit guy, but I injured my knee pretty badly at a trampoline park.
