I use my SS Whirly Pop on my induction hotplate set at 375° F with olive oil and Orville Rodenbacker's popcorn, have never had a burnt kernel, any very seldom a non-popped kernel. Then wipe it down w/paper towels till next time. Best popper I've ever had.
Don't you need a large diameter induction cooker to work with something as large as the Whirly Pop? Otherwise, any portion of the Whirly Pop's bottom that isn't directly getting the induction heating isn't going to be heating and popping the popcorn kernels.
Cool. Just bought this model after watching the review. I normally air pop, but I want to give this method a try, just to get a bit more flavor. Thanks!
Bought one of these after reading all of thew glowing reviews. Sadly was not my experience. The units are not made well. The instructions are incorrect. After emailing the company about the issues they were not helpful, simply referring me to a video that was no help and then ignoring my follow-up email. The gearing is faulty. The clips have a tendency to slip free of the bucket causing the pot to fall and all of the popcorn to spill out. The last time the popcorn fell across the still hot burner, instantly burning and smoking and ruining my cooktop. What a disaster. It does make good popcorn but at the cost of frustration and wasted product. There are better solutions out there.
they seem to know that becuase they sell replacements for the nylon gear ONLY, but not the steel altho that would be nice so wouldent have buy whole new top if need new metal gears.

I agree, it's the best I've used. Just love it.
Have you noticed if there's a difference with other popcorn kernels?

@@manofsanInduction Heats the whole pot does it not?
@@yosemitesam9576 - no. absolutely not. Induction only heats the part it contacts
I love my whirley Pop. I was given the 6 qt aluminum pot as a father's day present and it works great! Good for kettle corn too!

That’s a bummer. Sounds like you received a defective unit. They should honor a return or replacement
Comment..... The Nylon gears will eventually break.....buy the metal gear one.....They should not even make one with nylon gears in my opinion...
I agree. Metal are the best.
