Just found your page last week. Great content! Would be something special if you gave away a hunt with you guys. Great looking country you guys go into! Happy new year!
Austin I don’t know you but dude, you must have done some pretty selfless things in life massive congrats! These videos are oddly a ton of fun to watch
Quick question and I’m putting it here because you’re so good at responding on YT haha. What lenses do you use on your camera? I’m thinking of getting a 24-70mm to start but then making a 35mm prime with a 70-200mm. What are your thoughts?
Great question. I like a wide angle lens (Tamron 17-28mm) with an exceptional shotgun mic to film all my day-to-day hunter content and a long range lens (Sony 200-600mm) to film animals. When I'm bowhunting or hunting over-the-shoulder, I film with a Sony 24-270mm all-in-one type of lens. I also often use a Zeiss 50mm 1.8 lens. IMO 24-70mm isn't wide enough on the bottom end and isn't long enough on the top end. Similar problem with the 70-200mm... not wide enough at 70mm and doesn't zoom out enough at 200mm. IMO, the best hunt films are the ones that truly showcase the animals in the video--can't make the deer the star of the show if you can't get the deer on film big enough for people to see it. I hope that helps! Merry Christmas!
Congrats to the winner, Merry Christmas all!

It's always a good idea to get the bow tuned-up after a tough a mountain hunt.
