@@dean5224 Of course batting average matters! Only 3 players ever are in the Hall with a batting average below .260. And two of them are 1800's players.
@@lionheart2049 Check the stats. Delgado did not play in a big market team.
Let's Go Bonds and Clemens!!!
Let’s go Sammy, Manny and ARod
@@maxmx767 💯
they cant their 10 years is up all thre eof them they ar eno longer eligible...ever.. they dont get another chance they arent in
@@sonnyc3826 Veterans Committee can put them in 😂😂
Awesome to see. Watched him play as a kid! Hooray!
He looked like Barry Bonds in the post season. It’s. Shame Barry not in the Hall of fame.
The way I see it the writers like David Ortiz more than they like guys like Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. Even though they were all on the juice.
He admitted it from long ago days. A precedent. Maybe Bonds, Clemens, A Rod, Palmeiro get in one day then?
What juice? Rob Manfred said Ortiz test results were inconclusive
@@omgDavidGlasper Ortiz never admitted to taking steroids. He said he took gnc supplements.
Barry Bonds 🐐🐐
Congratulations!!
Always came through!
Congrats Papi !!
Not having Bonds, Clemens, Arod, Rose in the HOF is a travesty. To me, the HOF is meaningless without these players in. Just like everything else in this country, all politics.
@Christian Power It's not MLB, It's the HOF, a different entity. Bonds, Arod, Clemens, McGuire. These are the players that people watch and go to games to see. These are the players who bring the billions of dollars in TV contracts and put people in the seats. McGuire and Sosa saved baseball!
A great day for dominicans arriba mi gente ! 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
How could he not be? Pitchers shook at the sight of him like Barry bonds almost.
And yet Bonds is out of the HOF. What a shame.
@@byronsmith3152 Bonds is in my hof so screw baseball. They ruined it for me with that. Everyone on that hof committee was watching as bonds broke the record guaranteed, and they loved it!
Barry bonds deserved it way more than ortiz
Crazy life achievement

Jeff Passan: Love your Pink Floyd "The Dark Side of the Moon" album prominently displayed on your bookshelf. Oh, and I just spotted Hendrix. Nothing better than baseball, Hendrix and Floyd!
I had the Mitchel report in my hands! Every single MLB player, with the exception of the SF Giants’ starting catcher Sandoval, tested positive for steroid usage! Including Cal Ripken and Ken Griffey JR! Including every pitcher and bench player! Every utility player! Name them and they used steroids!
Proof?
And Bonds and Clemens used them before their were consequences for using them!!!!!!!!!
File a freedom of information act request and the government will give it to you!
@@omgDavidGlasper your missing the point! Even the crummy players used steroids/PEDs, not just the best!
@@josephmiller38 I know that. Thats what I'm saying! Everyone used them! I'm also adding that they werent checking for steroid use when they did it. Meaning, it was a "in" thing to do! If there were known consequences, and checking, they wouldnt have even done them.
Barry Bonds never tested positive for steroids
Who else gets walked with bases loaded? No one . They said bonds isn't beating us
lol i know, right? 688 intentional lifetime walks. More than twice as many as the next guy on the all time list!
yes Dominican Platano power he deserve it
Give me Greg Maddux over Roger Clemens any day of the week.
Everyone's freaking out about Bonds and Clemens, and with good reason. Ortiz DID say he's in disbelief they're not going with him.
Let's all be happy for big papi
I am happy for him. He was fun to watch. Still does not change the fact that he should not be a first ballot with the same question marks as a far better player who failed to get in.
Congrats to Ortiz but it's complete b.s. to leave out Bonds, Clemens, Sosa and Schilling. MLB had no problem taking the money that came from having them on the field, filling stadiums all over the country. They are one of the reasons MLB has those huge tv contracts to this day but we are going to hold them out because of allegations. Bonds said it best, "speculate all you want but I never failed a drug test". David Ortiz actually did fail a drug test.
This right here. This had nothing to do with PEDs. It was all about the writers disdain for Bonds. Nothing more.
Don't forget McGuire and Palmero. Two more who have no doubt HOF stats. If you want to include Ortiz, ok, I'm not gonna complain, but if you do, you have to include all who are stats worthy.
A-Roid as well! and agreed Glenn A...Schilling was never accused of PED usage but he was outspoken.

Joe buck: Ortiz into deep right field!!!
We'll see you later tonight!
Why is it that a bunch of pencil pushing nerds decide who gets into the hall of fame of a sport they literally never played professionally?? They are “writers” not former players Thats so ridiculous lmao 🤣
Cy Young was a Red Sox.
Wow 1 time in 28 👍👍👍
Dominican proud.
I think the final decision on whether Bonds and Clemens should be allowed into the baseball hall of fame should be left to the members of the hall of fame. If the majority of them think that the two are worthy to join their ranks then so be it. If not, tough luck. I seem to recall that most of them do not think so. Has anyone heard otherwise?
20 Game Ending Hits
Hey ESPN why do we put music on while they are trying to talk about serious things people want to hear what they are talking about. Thank you
Not a red sox fan.... but Ortiz was great and l am happy for him 🇺🇸🇺🇸✡️🇺🇸
El Big Papi ......the beast
I'm a big braves and fan I'm exited for big Papi getting hof
David is the best Red Sox player ever!!!
How quick we forget Tris Speaker.
Barry bonds why not include?
Big Papi congratulations 🎉
Big Papi first ballet? Yea thats a no brainer.
Congrats to Dave Ortiz he deserves to be there, any other baseball players that was caught using Steroids should not be in the Hall of Fame because they achievement was not done on natural ability but Big Papi belongs in the Hall of Fame.
The steroid era kept the league afloat, bud selig turned a blind eye for a while to profit off them and now they can’t be in the HOF
Big Papi!
Barry Bonds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best player ever! The only God in baseball besides Babe Ruth! The only 500/500 man! 688 intentional walks! lol More than double the next guy all time! 7x MVP! 2x MVP runner up!
Baseball writers should lose their vote. It"s a joke
Congrats to big chachi
Remember the Twins having him on their team. Not sure if they drafted him but when his contract was up we couldn't afford to keep him.
No they released him. He was not a very good player prior to 2003.
He’s a hall of famer. But Barry Bonds is the goat and not aloud in cause of steroids.
Bogas
Yep...thee best player ever!
Barry Bonds did steroids but he was far better than Ortiz who was voted in even though he was on steroids, the only difference is he didn't kiss the sportswriters butts.
I'm just here for Jeff Passan's tears.
He tested positive for steroids twice! If he gets in why is Bonds and Clemens not in!? The HOF is a waste
Rob Manfred said Ortiz test was inconclusive.
David Ortiz is my fake name, didn't know there was an actual David Ortiz.
Im not into baseball, I just randomly came across this.
Let's get a 4th stimulus check!
When somebody finds out what Ortiz popped positive for, let him know. MLB still has not informed him.
Also, how can there be more drug test results than there were players giving samples?
Bonds Is the GOAT!
Here come the Bonds stans
Ortiz in but not Barry Bonds that's crazy
DOESNT DESERVE IT UNLESS BONDS IS IN TOO
Lol, Bonds will never get in
Ortiz getting in has nothing to do with bonds you cornball
Bonds should've been selected. Never tested positive. and ortiz he did right?
Yes
No
So let me get this straight Roger Clemens and Barry bonds don’t get into the Hall of Fame but David Ortiz who is also a steroid cheat gets in the Hall of Fame that’s pretty fucked up for the other two especially for Sosa too
"this is our f**ken city."
well deserved...
He tested positive for steroids, how can you put him in the hall of fame but not Bonds? oh that's right he hurt the media's feelings.
David Ortiz is loved by everyone
If Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens aren’t in the HOF, David Ortiz shouldn’t be in period. The baseball writers (just like all the HOF voters in all sports do), made their voting personal.
Cooperstown doesn’t have an ounce of credibility after this. Big Papi is muchly deserved and my personal favourite player. This comment is about the fact that the all time hits leader (Rose), the all time home run leader (bonds) and the person with the third most strikeouts (Clemens) are not in the hall of fame. How can you consider getting inducted as an honour when the top dogs aren’t even in there? If they are in the wrong than their stats should be fixed to reflect that; however I can’t see how you could possibly calculate how much of a difference it made.
Congrats Big Papi, well deserved! Let's not forget Manny Ramirez next! Obviously, Bonds, Clemens, A Rod, and Rose should be in!
So.. Clemens and Bonds aren't going in, but Ortiz gets a free pass!?!?
Not admitting having done steroids obviously helped as well.
