Awesome video! I already knew how to set up my extra router as a client bridge but didn't know why it didn't rebroadcast the signal, this creates new possibilities, thank you!
Joshua Hammer II Thanks man! I'm glad you found it useful! Yup, in the client bridge mode you can't add a virtual interface whereas is the repeater bridge you have that option.
I had converted my LinkSys Router to a wireless bridge years ago and did a reset the other day and was unable to get back Internet. Your video did the trick. Great work!
Greetings, I do all the steps the same but when I configure the virtual interface and put the type of encryption and password, everything is saved well but I do not internet, but if I leave the disabled security mode there if it gives me internet, how can you help me? min 8:59
This was such a terrific tutorial. The drawings really explained it in ways that others have not been able to. I am happy to say that after hours of trying this on my own, I stepped through the process along with your video and you had me up and running in 10 minutes! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hey Kenneth, I'm glad this was helpful to you and you could successfully set up the repeater bridge :-) Thanks for letting me know too, it definitely motivates me to make more videos :-)
I'm happy to report that this works great on Linksys E2500 using dd-wrt v3.0-r33772 (11/16/17). Yeah!!! I had to tweak the wireless network mode to "G-Only" through trial and error, but I found the right one eventually. Thank you very much!!
Thanks, Behfor. Your video was perfect! Following your instructions, I was able to connect my wife's pc in a new home office at a former spare bedroom in my house, while also extending the range of my wifi network to reach the outside garage for a new internet "smart" garage door opener. Again, thank you so much for this video. Warmest regards, -Terry
WOW! As a follow up to yesterdays comment; It's taken me one hour (because I had to keep rewinding the vid to double check everything, lack of confidence no doubt) followed instructions to the letter! and EUREKA! I've done it! I'm so euphoric I've managed to do something as technical (In my eyes) as this.. Thanks so much. At this moment in time, I feel that you're the 2nd coming of the Messiah! haha. So pleased, what is it the youngsters say these days? "You rock" :-() (The vid about the DD-WRT software install is excellent too) A loyal follower of yours from now on. Again many thanks.. So much better than some of the so called "Guru's" on here.
Hahaha, thanks so much! I'm truly happy that this video was useful for you! Thanks for subscribing to my channel and also sharing your experience! I really appreciate it! Have a great day :-)
5:30 Mine doesn’t have the option REPEATER BRIDGE. It only shows the options: “AP” “AP(WDS)” “Station” “Station Bridge (Routed)” “Station (WDS)” “Station (Miktotik WDS)” Could you help me solve the problem?
Thank you Behfor for your tutorial. Actually your tutorial was the best to helped me setup my LINKSYS WRT54GS as Repeater Bridge. I'm trying to learn how to change the channel from your other videos to speedup the repeater that is much slower than the router. Thank you again. Wishing you best of luck!
@@Behfor Happy New Year! I watched your videos and I failed to change the channel in my DD-WRT. I'm wondering do you have any specific video on how to change the channel or suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Really appreciated this video, had to do some minor tweaking on my end to get this working. But I now have a working extender ready to connect the CCTV network to! Thanks
spot on. same router same requirement (secondary router used to connect my tv via LAN). Followed the steps as shown in video and it works. Brilliant video and many thanks :)
Excellent tutorial! The pictorial visualizations aided understanding alot. I struggled until I did a release/renew of the IP address, right after "Apply Settings". BINGO, it worked....
I mounted my repeater on the garage ceiling to be close to the client device. Had some network issues and did a factory reset on the parent router. What a PIA. I have bring the router down and repeat the programming of the repeater. Probably have to factory reset it too. Can’t connect to the VAP I created. Darn I won’t be so quick to do that again.
What a great video. Easy to follow, and it works... but for me, up to a point. I'm using an old Linksys Wrt320n. Whilst plugged in via ethernet everything works fine. As soon as I switch on the re-broadcasting, the 320n loses all ability to connect to the internet. I've done it 3 times, step by step, pausing on the iPad at every interval to make sure I have it the same. I think this must be a quirk in my kit or else the dd-wrt version running on it. But the work done in this video is still great! So clear.
I've been sitting on doing this for a few years and finally someone that explains it perfectly. I finally got a repeater and extender with my old Linksys. This is fantastic!!! Thank so very much!!!
Hi Behfor, I have an issue that has come up after following your instructions. I guess this worked for a little while but then it stopped connecting to the internet. I can access the Linksys WRT54G router with the dd-wrt firmware on it at the prescribed 192.168.1.220 (new address I assigned) even through my Spectrum wireless connection? However, there is no internet connection wired or through Wi-Fi on the Linksys WRT54G router with the dd-wrt firmware on it? I can connect to the Linksys WRT54G router wired or wireless but it has no Internet Access? When applying changes to the repeater router I do get this warning: "Please check the followings before connecting again: If you have changed your router's IP address, please note that you must release/renew your client(s) address(s) on the network. If you are connected via WLAN, please join the network and then click Continue." Not sure what that means? After going over and over it everything seems to be setup according to your instructions, so I’m not sure what is happening. I did notice that your dd-wrt version on the video included more “Wireless Network Modes” on it than mine? Mine dd-wrt version only includes: Disabled, Mixed, B only and G only. My Spectrum router include: g, g/n, and n. It was configured for “g/n”. I changed it to just “g” and also changed the dd-wrt to just “g” so that they would match (after this issue happened). I still have the issue. Is the router just broken? Or is it something else? Would you have any ideas on what may be happening here and how to resolve it? Thanks, John PS Should I just purchase something like the WIFI Ultraboost - wifi-booster.co/homepage/US/x-64/ PPS By the way I love your site!!!
Good tutorial. I've been looking to put a second router in a far bedroom bridged wirelessly to the main router in the living room on the other side of the house which is connected directly to the cable modem. The step through and diagrams really helped.
Thank you so much! After my wireless NIC started dropping alot of packets i had to switch to a wired setup but it would have required drilling holes or laying a cable across the room. I had an old ddwrt router but i couldnt remember how to set it up as i havent done networking since i switched careers 4 years ago. It was driving me nuts. This video had be up and running and remembering how this stuff works again, all in just 10 minutes! Thx again
I'm delighted to see your video with a detailed explanation, which helped me understand well despite my poor English. But in Wireless Mode drop sown list on my tp-link tl-wr741nd router, there's no Repeater Bridge. There are only AP, Client, Client Bridge(Routed), Adhoc, WDS Station, and WDS AP
Behor, thank you for your great tutorial: your instructions are clear and precise. Because of you I was able to reconfigure a Linksys WAP54G Wireless G Access Point to run in reverse and operate as a Repeater and a Bridge. This has enabled me to keep using a Sony Ray DVD player: it's internal WiFi modem has stopped working but now it is hard wired to the LAN output of the Linksys. I got great joy out of making something I would have thrown out, come back to life. Thanks again, from Australia.
You made my day buddy with your super nice comment :-) I'm really really glad you found this video useful and you could set up a repeater and connect your Sony DVD player!! Awesome! Thanks again and have fun in the beautiful Australia :-)
@@Behfor Hi again, Behfor. I forgot to mention that as well as the Bridge being able to supply a LAN to the DVD, the Repeater has increased the WiFi in the room from 75% to 100% and that will now run the set top box. If you ever come Down Under let me know and I'll have you around for a BBQ.
Bravo. Thanks for consistent and very insightful tutorial and good sense for humor is also always welcome. In combination with your other tutorial on installing the dd-wrt on router it worked like charm. I'm little above average user, not the it-pro, and I was able to configure it out with minor twists and turns. Many many thanks. My kids are also gratefull to you, because there is no more connection lags on the other storey of our house.
You're welcome. There is no "Bridge" mode! But if you mean what is the difference between "Repeater" & "Repeater Bridge" this video can help you: ua-cam.com/video/rmB7n-ABNaA/v-deo.html
This is the best explanation. Great tutorial video You explained everything clearly in a simple words. Thanks for the effort of described about the bridge. Keep it up behfor. Two thumbs up !!!!!!
Very detailed and thorough explanation of how to turn an old DD WRT router into a bridge repeater! Unfortunately it didn't work for me, although I can't figure out why. I tried to use an ancient (but known working) Linksys WRT160N V3 with DD WRT installed. I did a 30/30/30 reset each time and followed your instructions exactly each time but no joy. Very odd because I'm sure that I've used this very same router as a repeater before. Ah well, still terrific detailed instructions even though they didn't work for my router.
Working good with d'link dir-600 for wired pc. Losing internet access when enabling virtual wireless. I need to reset the router and repeat the process again. Overall excellent video. I
Thanks Again Behfor. You are awesome. I am trying to do the same for my elderly next door neighbor that can not afford internet. I have a Linksys EA4500 and found out the only supporting firmware is openwrt. I have it installed on the old router and unfortunately the other online videos leave a lot to be desired unlike yours. Can you tell me what settings I need to change to get this device to repeat my guest WIFI on this openwrt router? Thanks again Behfor, and have a great day! :)
Hi, I had a similar problem and just rebooting the router for a couple of times fixed the problem for me. Also what you can try is to remove the password for the SSID in question (just for testing purposes) to see if it broadcasts the SSID or not, if it does then add the password.
Thanks. I think what most people leave out of these explanations is that different brands of routers may not play well together in this configuration, or might not work at all. Even the same brand of router can use a different chip set. Do you know of a particular router that is a bit more inter-operable with other routers? I'm looking to bridge a home router with a mobile Huawei hotspot, then connect another router to the the home router Wan port to issue private IP addresses for my LAN. I also would like to bridge two additional routers to that home router in star configuration, so it's sort of a start/daisy chain mix when including the Huawei.
Excellent tutorial, but I could not get my old router to work. After following your steps one by one, at the end I got a message to the effect that if I had changed my router's Ip (which of course I had), I had to register/renew it on my main router and then hit continue. I do not know how to register or renew it, so I was stuck. That was the end of my adventure. Can you help? I would be very thankful for any suggestions. My main router is a Huawei and my secondary router is an old Linksys Wireless G using a DD-WRT system.
I love your instructions and I was able to set up the bridge without issues. Unfortunately, the last couple of days, I am losing my Ethernet connection with a "Window detected a network Conflict." The way to resolve is is to power off the bridge router. Do you have any idea where I can look to fix the issue? Thanks your wonderful videos and keep up the good work.
Thanks for this wonderful illustration! I have a similar problem that I hope you can find a solution for. Just purchased a security camera system that came with an NVR. The cameras are wireless which is great, but some of them are too far from the NVR and cannot get the signle. Someone told me that I should use a repeater to fix it, but I don't know how to use DD-WRT to make that work effectively. Do you have a solution? Regards..
Thanks for your comment. There should be 2 possibilities: 1- if the NVR has its own wireless network and the cameras connect to the NVR using that network, then the DD-WRT router should be configured to extend and repeat the NVR wireless network for a better range. 2- But if the NVR doesn't have a wireless network and the cameras connect to the NVR by using a Wireless router, then the DD-WRT should be configured to repeat the wireless router. Either way it should be possible, you just need to determine which method is used in your security camera system. Hope that helps.
The whole system is wireless. The problem though is that the NVR wireless setup is different from regualar Access Points. It has several Identification items such ass BSSID and ESSID. It also broadcast in a hidden protocol that cannot be captured by ordinary wireless devices like computers or mobiles. The software seems generic and is used with most IP Cameras that I've come across. Just like what this manual is for support.zositech.com/hc/en-us/articles/235215347-Wireless-NVR-System-Instruction-Manual
It shouldn't matter if the primary SSID is hidden at all, however, I'm not too sure about the NVR software, I still think it should be possible to do that though, unless the NVR is doing some sort of mac address filtering to allow only certain IP cameras to connect and nothing else! The best way is to give it a try! I'm actually on a trip right now and I can find one of these NVRs in about 2 weeks and give it a try and let you know then if you can wait for that long of course.
Yeah.. no problem, I can wait and thank you very much. The NVR software seems generic and is available to so many different camera brands. This link ua-cam.com/video/-NugNLC3OAc/v-deo.html&app=desktop shows how to implement software repeaters through the cameras themselves, but it's not easy to implement.
tu tutorial esta mucho mejor explicado que yo haya encontrado ya que estoy utilizando ese firmware DD-WRT por primera vez y quede un poco confuso de uso pero ya sali de ese problema por este video muchas gracias.
Hello Behfor. I understand how to Bridge two routers. But I have a question that 'normal' users just can't even fathom, so hopefully you will be able to provide some insight. My question is: On a wireless bridge configuration, how would you configure for MU MIMO on the Wifi Bridged (second) router and is MU MIMO even effective on the Bridged router? (specifically 2x Netgear R7000p (which allows for turning MU MIMO on or off}. You are the "Go to" so Thanks in advance, your answer will help me to stay within a properly knowledgeable space with regard to WIFI Bridging.
Router#2 produces a better signal than a laptop running wirelessly from Router#1? In other words. If I am in Room2 and I have #2 Router bridged (connected) and I have my Laptop connected wirelessly to Router#1. Which signal (how many bars) would be stronger?
I was having the same idea! I've done it, but....because the two rooms are close to each other the wireless extender is interfering with the signal of the main router. I have no idea how to set them to different channels. Changing the standard is not an option, it loses the signal straightaway (doesn't connect), simply set the 2nd router to a different channel is not allowed. It runs well for 5 sec then it set itself automatically to the same channel where it gets the internet from.
Unfortunately it is expected behavior that the repeater stays on the same channel as the primary router and it is not possible to change that. If the repeater has only one radio then it can only be on one channel at the same time, so that's why the repeater and the wireless bridge have to be on the same channel. And that (as you mentioned) can cause interference. I would suggest to try other channels on the primary router and let the repeater broadcast on the new channels and see if that improves the condition. Also you can change the location of both primary and secondary routers to make sure the repeater is located within but closer to the edge of the primary router coverage area, this will help to reduce the interference. Reducing the TX power on the primary router might also be an option in order to reduce the primary router cell size but I don't recommend this unless I exactly know what I'm doing and I've done a site survey to make sure this is not causing any connection issues to other devices on the network as this is going to reduce the coverage area. Hope that helps.
Thank you very much for your answer. Moving the 2nd router further is a good idea. I have tried different channel, and yes some of them work better than others, I don't know why, but it seems this network has been stabilized. Thx again.
At 5:24 on Wireless Mode I only have AP, Client, Client Bridge, Adhoc, WDS Station, WDS Station (Mikrotik) and WDS AP. ROuter is a Tp-link TL-WR841n V8 with DD-WRT v3.0-r44715. Any idea how to set it up ?
Thank you for the step by step instructions. I was successfully able to make the computer in the other room work with a wired connection but as soon as I add the Virtual Interface, even the wired connection stops working. Thoughts?
Very good tutorial. I set this up as shown but connected the e2500 to my guest network of my main router network. I can connect to the E2500 wirelessly with a laptop but the E2500 does not connect to the internet. Is this because I have set it connected to the guest network instead of the main network?
Hey man.. really nice video... I understood the concept but have a different router and seems internet is not working though the extender/secondary router is well connected to the root or primary router. I have DLINK 610L. I changed the IP, disabled DHCP and enabled WDS + AP option.. All this on the secondary one. Also enabled 'Bridging' option on root which is Technicolor and added MAC Ad for the secondary router. Not sure what else should I do.
What is difference between this technique of bridging and WDS? I want to enable my raid Harddisk to be used by all devices and wanted to use this by enabling WDS in my wifi router... How I do this by any of above method? Thanks
Many thanks for the great tutorial Behfor. As soon as I add wifi from virtual Interfaces. The connection between room2 and room1 router lost. Could you help as to what settings need to be done?
I remember I had this issue happen to me a couple of times. Rebooting the secondary router for a few times fixed the issue for me. You can also try adding the virtual interface and the new WiFi with no password first and test to see if it works fine and then add the WiFi password. Thanks!

It's nice to see a man put pen to paper to explain things.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked this video :-)
Thank you for this tutorial! This is the simplest yet best tutorial I’ve seen on this. I got my repeater set up in just a few minutes. Thank you!
You bet! I'm very glad this was helpful for you! Cheers :-)
I'm happy to report that this works great on Linksys E2500 using dd-wrt v3.0-r33772 (11/16/17). Yeah!!!
I had to tweak the wireless network mode to "G-Only" through trial and error, but I found the right one eventually.
Thank you very much!!
Glad to hear that! Thanks 👍
Hey Terry, thanks for the message! I'm very glad this video was useful for you! That's very good news! Thanks :-)
Have a great day :-)
5:30
Mine doesn’t have the option REPEATER BRIDGE. It only shows the options: “AP” “AP(WDS)” “Station” “Station Bridge (Routed)” “Station (WDS)” “Station (Miktotik WDS)”
Could you help me solve the problem?
Thank you Behfor for your tutorial. Actually your tutorial was the best to helped me setup my LINKSYS WRT54GS as Repeater Bridge. I'm trying to learn how to change the channel from your other videos to speedup the repeater that is much slower than the router. Thank you again. Wishing you best of luck!
Glad it helped and happy new year :-)
@@Behfor Happy New Year!
I watched your videos and I failed to change the channel in my DD-WRT. I'm wondering do you have any specific video on how to change the channel or suggestions? Thank you in advance.
This was the best tutorial to get DD-WRT up and running. Thanks for this video
That's awesome! I'm very glad this video was useful for you. thanks :-)
Your channel has everything I needed in the past months.
Glad if I could help, thanks
Your video was excellent. I watched a lot that were not, so thank you very much for taking the time to do this. This method worked perfectly for me.
Glad it helped! Thanks :-)
Really appreciated this video, had to do some minor tweaking on my end to get this working. But I now have a working extender ready to connect the CCTV network to! Thanks
You're very welcome! Glad this was useful!
6 years later: can confirm this still works, thank you!
Glad to hear that, thanks for sharing 🙂
spot on. same router same requirement (secondary router used to connect my tv via LAN). Followed the steps as shown in video and it works. Brilliant video and many thanks :)
Glad to hear that, thanks 😀👍
Excellent tutorial! The pictorial visualizations aided understanding alot. I struggled until I did a release/renew of the IP address, right after "Apply Settings". BINGO, it worked....
Great to hear! Thanks :-)
Nicely done. Followed instructions you presented and it's working perfectly! Thank you for taking the time to post this.
Great! Thanks for letting me know! I'm glad this video was helpful for you :)
At long last I've found that good tutorial. Thank you for your work !
Glad you liked it, thanks 👍
THIS is the exact setup I've been searching for! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
You're very welcome! I'm glad you found it useful :-)
I used the first half of this video to give my FireTV a cable to the bridge. Linksys WiFi works better than the WiFi built into the TV. Thanks!
I'm glad to hear you got it to work! That's awesome 😀👍
When applying changes to the repeater router I do get this warning:
"Please check the followings before connecting again:
If you have changed your router's IP address, please note that you must release/renew your client(s) address(s) on the network.
If you are connected via WLAN, please join the network and then click Continue."
Not sure what that means?
Thanks,
John
PS Should I just purchase something like the WIFI Ultraboost - wifi-booster.co/homepage/US/x-64/
PPS By the way I love your site!!!
Best of the best tutorials ever. Your method is amazing man God bless you many more people UA-camrs get inspired in your method.
Thanks so much! Glad you liked the video 🙂👍
excellent! you saved me potentially several days of dirty work by trial and error. thanks!
Glad it was helpful, thanks :-)
Good tutorial. I've been looking to put a second router in a far bedroom bridged wirelessly to the main router in the living room on the other side of the house which is connected directly to the cable modem. The step through and diagrams really helped.
Great! I'm glad this was helpful :-)
Works great. Got my old Linux system on the net (on the other side of the house) because of your tutorial. Many thanks
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful! Thanks :-)
Thank you very much. Very clear, well explained and finally I have my old wireless router working as a wireless bridge as I wanted for a long time.
Great! I'm glad this was helpful for you :-) Thanks for letting me know!
This is the best tutorial for this set up I have found. Thank you SO much for this. You have helped me out tremendously! I can't thank you enough!!
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you like this video and found it useful :-)
I succeeded to configure my Linksys in Repeater bridge mode using your tutorial. Thanks.
You're very welcome, glad it was useful 👍
Thank you so much! After my wireless NIC started dropping alot of packets i had to switch to a wired setup but it would have required drilling holes or laying a cable across the room. I had an old ddwrt router but i couldnt remember how to set it up as i havent done networking since i switched careers 4 years ago. It was driving me nuts. This video had be up and running and remembering how this stuff works again, all in just 10 minutes! Thx again
You're very welcome! I'm very happy you liked this video and found it useful! Thanks :-)
Dudes video was a BIG Help. Had me up and running after watching it.
That's very good news! I'm very glad you was useful for you! Thanks! :-)
Hey just watched this, at 3.05, Callanis Standing Stones in The Isle of Lewis on your background! Been there many times. Guess I'll keep watching now!
Thanks, as far as I remember the client bridge (routed) is the same as the repeater bridge, so you should be able to use that as weill.
Thank you so much@@Behfor
@Behfor Thank you again. I've had wifi from my old router using Client Bridge (Routed).
yooo thanks a million! Got to the Wired bridge step and got stuck! The virtual interface section brought it home for me. THANK YOUUUU
You're very welcome! I'm glad this was useful :-)
Thanks this save me hours of reading DD wrt instructions
I'm glad this was helpful! Good luck DD-WRTing :-)
Well done Behfor. Another practical piece.
Thanks 👍😌
Behor, thank you for your great tutorial: your instructions are clear and precise. Because of you I was able to reconfigure a Linksys WAP54G Wireless G Access Point to run in reverse and operate as a Repeater and a Bridge. This has enabled me to keep using a Sony Ray DVD player: it's internal WiFi modem has stopped working but now it is hard wired to the LAN output of the Linksys. I got great joy out of making something I would have thrown out, come back to life. Thanks again, from Australia.
You made my day buddy with your super nice comment :-)
I'm really really glad you found this video useful and you could set up a repeater and connect your Sony DVD player!!
This was the best I've found. Thank you for your attention to detail.
I'm very happy you found this useful! Thanks :-)
This is the video I was looking for. Very easy to understand. It was a great explanation. Thank you :)
You're very welcome! Glad you liked it 🙂
Thank you so very much! I've been trying to get this accomplished with no luck until I watched your video!
you're very welcome! I'm very happy this video was useful for you! Thanks :-)
Thank you for your video it was helpful. I finally made my cisco E1000 a repeater appreciate your time to make this video.
You're very welcome! I'm very glad this video was useful for you :-)
That's great news!! I'm very happy this video was helpful for you and your kids! Thanks so much for letting me know :-)
Thank you for the video.
5:27 what was the difference between Mode "Bridge" and "Repeater Bridge"?
You're welcome. There is no "Bridge" mode! But if you mean what is the difference between "Repeater" & "Repeater Bridge" this video can help you: ua-cam.com/video/rmB7n-ABNaA/v-deo.html
This video really helped me out.... I was up and running in just a few mins! ... Thanks for this video
Perfect! I'm glad this was helpful! Thanks for your letting me know! :-)
Thank you! Just a crystal clear explanation and demonstration.
You're very welcome, glad you liked it 👍
This is the best explanation.
Great tutorial video
You explained everything clearly in a simple words.
Thanks for the effort of described about the bridge.
Keep it up behfor. Two thumbs up !!!!!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment :-) I'm glad you enjoyed this video and this definitely inspires me to make more videos! Thanks again :-)
Thank you very much. This seems to have been tailor made for my requirements. Wishing you all the best.
You're very welcome! I'm glad this was helpful for you :-)
This is absolutely awesome! Your pictorial tutorial is A+++
Thanks so much! I'm very glad you liked this video :-)
Very very instructive video, I was about to throw away my old router, but I will keep using it.
Glad it helped
Working good with d'link dir-600 for wired pc. Losing internet access when enabling virtual wireless.
I need to reset the router and repeat the process again.
Overall excellent video.
I
Thanks so much! Your tutorial did the trick for me. Wifi everywhere in my house!
You're very welcome! I'm very happy this video was useful for you! Thanks! :-)
Great tutorial, the problem I ran into is my 2nd router set to repeater bridge it not broadcast SSID, I have enable ssid broadcast..
Thanks, make sure the IP address you have given to the bridge router is not used in your network, otherwise there will be an IP conflict.
I have to agree with the other comments. Very well explained. Diagram help those who are not IT Savvy.
Thank you so much! I'm very happy you liked this video :-)
Very clear explanation... Thank you... precisely what I needed. Could not have asked for more.... Keep it up....cheers!!!
Awesome! I'm happy this was useful for you! please stay tuned for new videos!
Thanks man. Read some sites on how to do this, couldn't get it to work. Followed your video, works perfect.
Thank you very much mate. The explanation and diagram made it really easy to understand.
You're very welcome! I'm very happy you liked this video :-)
Tutorial worked great for Wi-Fi connection. Although I am not getting internet via Ethernet connection from bridge/repeater router
tu tutorial esta mucho mejor explicado que yo haya encontrado ya que estoy utilizando ese firmware DD-WRT por primera vez y quede un poco confuso de uso pero ya sali de ese problema por este video muchas gracias.
I'm glad this was helpful :-) Thanks!
Thanks so much.....Did not understand it all, but followed directions and it worked....
You're very welcome! I'm glad it worked 😀👍
Best explanation I've found! Thanks for this.
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Amazing! Well done and well explained...getting much better speeds now in my office!!
Awesome! Glad it helped! :-)
Thx again.
My pleasure! :-)
Man you are real Professor. Thank you !
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm very glad you liked this video! You made my day! :-)
At 5:24 on Wireless Mode I only have AP, Client, Client Bridge, Adhoc, WDS Station, WDS Station (Mikrotik) and WDS AP. ROuter is a Tp-link TL-WR841n V8 with DD-WRT v3.0-r44715. Any idea how to set it up ?
great explanation. I could successfully set up my spare router as repeater with your video.
Thank you for the step by step instructions. I was successfully able to make the computer in the other room work with a wired connection but as soon as I add the Virtual Interface, even the wired connection stops working. Thoughts?
Same here happened to me, did you manage to find the solution?
Absolutely great video. Can be cheaper then a USB Wi-Fi adapter, and compatible with more devices. Thanks!
Great! I'm really glad you liked this video! Thanks so much for your comment! 🙂👍
What is difference between this technique of bridging and WDS? I want to enable my raid Harddisk to be used by all devices and wanted to use this by enabling WDS in my wifi router... How I do this by any of above method? Thanks
Can you connect a 3rd router? The same way?
Many thanks for the great tutorial Behfor. As soon as I add wifi from virtual Interfaces. The connection between room2 and room1 router lost. Could you help as to what settings need to be done?
I remember I had this issue happen to me a couple of times. Rebooting the secondary router for a few times fixed the issue for me. You can also try adding the virtual interface and the new WiFi with no password first and test to see if it works fine and then add the WiFi password. Thanks!
