- This series on Astrology from the Jewish perspective is geared towards self-improvement. In this series Rabbi Kin does not cover the Astrology that relates to one's destiny or Mazal. Rather these lectures discuss the Astrology that deals with character and personality, and focuses on the strengths and weaknesses that each sign has and needs to work on. According to tradition, the day of the month and hour exert much influence over one's nature. In describing every sign Rabbi Kin puts great emphasis on relationships - how they are affected by the "chemistry" or lack of "chemistry" that exists between the different signs of the Zodiac. Rabbi Kin also advises what one needs to know and do to be able to get along with everyone. By knowing more about ourselves and others one can gain a better understanding of human nature; he can then learn to be more forgiving and accepting of every human being.

Taurus here. I’m always apologizing. Aries, Gemini and Virgos never apologize to me.
I'm also a Taurus. I used to never apologize because it would make me feel uncomfortable. I would still try to make up in every other way but it would be very hard for me to say "I'm sorry". But now baruch Hashem I no longer have this issue.

Also the astrology is rooted in Kabbalah. Jews constantly make effort to distinguish their traditional Kabbalah from external mysticisms. And it's always been that way. So no we didn't steal astrology from the Greeks. It's actually very possible they got information from us.

i share both traits of taurus and gemini
Rabbi , my brother is a Taurus (5 days earlier than me) and I'm a Gemini. It's true that we are complete opposites of eacchother in every aspect ; however, I hold half of the signs of what you described with the Taurus, and he holds about half of the signs that you described for a Gemini. For example, my brother [taurus] is talkative, joker, doesn't take things serious, is not jealous. He is however stubborn, traditional.. Whereas I am introvert, in need of physical, jealous and possesive, but I am however good in convincing, multitasker, curious, knowledgable in almost any field, diplomatic yet blunt, less emphatic. It seems like we both are a mixture of both our signs. Is that possible and any explenation? And how can it be with 2 signs that are so radically different?
Most of the time it has to do with your hour of birth which describes a great deal of one's Personality, whereas your Sun sign has more to do with your essence and mission in life. There are several more factors that contribute to one's unique individuality which Astrology discusses but could not be covered in these lectures. For example, if you are only a few days away from Taurus it could very possibly be that you have other planets in Taurus, which would explain how "certain" characteristics of Taurus are seen in you.

Are you both cusps? Because that would explain that perfectly. Either way, a begginer taurus near the aries mark will be more enegized than a taurus in the middle and a taurus near the gemini mark will be even more left brained among many other things but my point is being near another sign does effect the energy and cusp signs specifically capitalize on that

Judaism is against using Astrology to ascertain which days or hours are more propitious to take certain actions. There is no opposition against the Astrology of one's nature, character, and personality. There are many Judaic sources for the latter.
