The first most important lesson. Before you even take your vehicle off the road. Is that just because it's a 4wd. Doesn't mean you can take it in the mud. Because you will get stuck. Tires are everything. If you don't have some deep grove all terrain tires. You will get stuck. Because that false conference of having that first 4wd. Will get you into touble. Speaking from experience.

Just got a Suzuki Jimny. I have no 4x4 experience and very keen to learn the basics first. Thanks

You hit the nail on the head. Just returned from my first trip with my new Rubicon and your tip for the first time was so spot on.It was daunting and uncomfortable as you stated. After taking a wrong turn with no way back, the sense of achievement was palpable and addicting. Thanks for the great video.

Sounds like you had an “interesting” time off-road, I’d love to hear the story if you’ve got the time. 👍😊

@@EpicDrivesWesternAustralia The first time was a group run that they swore would be accessible to all. Luckily we chickened out and road with someone. There was one spot we would have ruined the bottom of our truck.

@@EpicDrivesWesternAustralia The other time, someone told us about an easy trail. The beginning was so narrow, I was already afraid. Then, we got to a terrible ditch without going very far. It was hard to even turn around.

@@EpicDrivesWesternAustralia The problem with the second trail is it was being run by small off road vehicles and had deep ruts the size of that vehicle. Nevertheless, in both situations we had explained our vehicle and been told "no problem." (I.e. stock truck with stock tires, no lift).

Kristinista Sounds like you made the right decision. Nothing worse than damaging your vehicle when you kind of knew in the back of your mind that something was going to happen. 👍
