Mould build up like this takes a significant amount of time. Without some sort of abrasive action, nothing is going to rid the door seal of the mould and biofilm. So pouring in some product and running a cycle then expecting a miracle is silly. The instructions even describe how to clean the seals and rubber i.e. separately with a cloth doused in the solution. This test doesn't really prove anything except that the products that each cost a few quid, aren't magical and that you actually need to apply some elbow grease to the problem...
Soda crystals the best to use regularly to maintain washing machines and would stop anymore gunk build-ups , put a quarter cup in every load you do and eventually your machine will get there! But first you have to scrub away the mould you see , I suggest an old toothbrush dipped in thick bleach scrub and leave for a few hours , then use half the bag of the soda crystals again
after every wash leave the door open so the drum can dry , most of the smells are coming from the bacteria build up from the moisture which is left on the drum rubber door seal , also do a 90 wash every 3 months with an empty machine this will also help to keep your machine smelling better
If you read the tiny writing on the bottle of dettol, it does say to save some of the liquid and use it diluted (wearing gloves) to clean the drawer and door seal. You should start with cleaning the top drawer and overhead jets with a toothbrush (removing most of the knuckle skin). Clean the door seal and then do a 60° wash cycle. It's not a bad product, but it doesn't come with a toothbrush, elbow grease, or commonsense, unfortunately 😂
Cleaners do work but you first should check pipes back of washing machine take apart clean put back together as they were, then check the filter at front on many machines make sure electricity is off take plug out. Then clean every part possible the seal pull back the drawer inside too there is a second rim seal pull bk more get a tooth brush once all clean it will still smell because of the build up of bacteria soap suds create this it won’t clean machine but leave residue so now all left to do is pour the dettol into drawer hottest cycle once done all clean smelling fresh 😊
Nothing will clean the seals. The soda crystal will clean the pipes and the drum, but you'd need to spray the seals with some bathroom spray and possibly scrub it with some CIF and a toothbrush. You'll also need to clean the drawer in the same way.
I am sorry you was left with a washing machine in such an utterly disgusting condition If you come across a machine like this again I suggest: Just using regular think bleach and washing up liquid (just not loads or you end up with too many suds), the bleach will kill bacteria and washing up liquid breaks down deposits Put the machine on, just like you have done but keep checking it and when the machine is full of water and HOT (HOTTEST setting) stop the machine, turn it off if you have and let the bleach and washing up liquid sit in the machine for a few hours I would also put old dish cloths or an old towel in there too as that way it would cause water to be spread to the upper part of the drum as well parts of the machine you can't see Also clean the drawer and the housing for the drawer with bleach and remove the pump filter and clean that too If you then follow up with regular maintenance washes with bleach and otherwise looking after the machine the issue you faced shouldn't resurface I hope since, the machine has been OK
Oh nice, y.. i have to manually scrub the insides, now it improved significantly. Btw, thanks for the detailed tip :). Will try the wash up liquid and bleach just to deal with bacteria just to make sure and do the maintenance.
@@inhinyerongofw3040 You are welcome Another tip, leave the door and drawer open (just a little bit) when the machine is not in use, it lets air circulate which also prevents mould I do a maintenance wash once a month with my machine with it on its HOTTEST setting with washing up liquid and bleach, I put my dish cloths in also because it gives them a REALLY good clean My machine is 17 months old from new with ZERO problems as a result, no mould, no smells and no breakdowns
Using a dry tissue or napkin will not ever clean the seal. That seal has been neglected, after EVERY wash it takes just 30 seconds to wipe the seal dry, AND LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN A FEW INCHES. The way this seal is it needs a scrub with a soft brush and bleach mixed with water.
No problem it will take all the mould off. The cleaners you used are good just not good for removing mold if you look on TikTok lots of people use this mould cleaner

My washing machine and toliet were never in that condition like that before I discovered soda crystals. 😳

I do a maintenance wash once a month with my machine with it on its HOTTEST setting with washing up liquid and bleach, I put my dish cloths in also because it gives them a REALLY good clean

You have to clean the rubber door with a tooth brush. First. And clean out the detergent draw. Then use your cleaning products 😊

You need to kill the mould the astonish will do that plus take out the drawer and filter
Astonish mould and mildew from poundland will take it all off
