This spring I caught 322 crappies (that I kept) in a week and they were all 12-16 inches we got our limit in an hour everyday. They all were males to!!!

I love the little fact of “taking what you need.” Just south of you here, down in your neighbor state here in Michigan, guys will do nothing but limit after limit of the bigs. I like a trophy just as much as the next guy, but c’mon now. I’ve seen guys catch limit on perch or walleye or crappies in the morning and walk off ice for a while to take fish home, then come right back out around noon and again before sun down to do the same thing. 3 limits! It kills the fish. When my little brother, a future/present master angler if I’ve ever seen one, wants to just go out on the ice and slay some fishies it’s way harder no matter where you go to catch anything but a dink. Good on ya, Jay!

We have a hell of a crappie fishery here in northern Michigan. I have caught two 17" and plenty of 14-16" crappie in the last two years, all without electronics, always in smaller lakes no one bothers fishing. I've become a crappie whisperer

i think that is the calmest ive ever seen Mr Wiebe... great fishing guys!!!! i've only ever caught crappies out in sudbury ontario in the summer but they had worms and blue spots in the meat. great for catch and release.

Are you talking about Lake Minnewaska between Starbuck and Glenwood, MN? I love Lake Minnewaska I went to UMM at Morris, MN so we fished Hobo Park and by Torgi's in Long Beach! I fell I love with crappie fishing there and sunfish! Now all I fish is wallies here in Pierre, SD!

Showing the auger going through on the livescope is money. I had a client that loved drilling holes with the ION and that was the first time I saw it. You know if your on the fish for sure. J I sent you a link to try the sans bars. Good food easy to pack with you on the ice. Too bad they don't make a slot size limit to keep the spawners in the lakes.
Have my first frostbite dipstick rod coming in soon and can't wait. I can't decide if 6 lb test is too much if I want to fish panfish but also use it on walleye.
