I needed a wig for a kurt cobain costume at halloween. It needed to look convincing, as my friends always put maximum effort into their costumes. So I bought a long blonde wig and cut it shorter myself and made it look more realistic, using tips from videos such as this one. Sometimes I go to rock clubs in london wearing wigs now lol
If you plucked to much, gather some of the loose strands and fold in half, thread the loop formed through and back up around the lace strands, place the ends of the folded strand through the loop and pull tight. You have just made a lark's head knot and fixed your wig.
I love how you go through every little detail of how to install a wig. Most UA-camrs that do wig installation videos, when they talk about plucking the wig, they don't actually show you how to pluck it. Thanks for this very informative video. She went ahead and had her head shaved because she was loosing patches of hair. She has purchased an assortment of wigs and I brought her some new wigs to try which will be donated to who ever needs them. She is upbeat, positive. She has had some rough times with sleep and meds but is a trooper. Her hubby and friends are all there for her 24/7. The one issue that alarms me is she is a former smoker and for some time has been vaping. This discovery of uterine cancer has Not pushed her off of vaping. I don't say anything but just wonder. sentarra Silva I know I’m a little late on this comment, but I have been wearing wigs almost everyday for around 2 years. The 2 places I get my wigs are from wigisfashion. I usually get lace front or fashion wigs with bangs. The other place I get my wigs from is AliExpress from a shop called Anogol. They have super cheap and great quality lace fronts! I hope this helps.
I am new to wigs, and I like fun colors. I've bought 2 from butchered boutique, I just got 2 from uniwigs, and they're super nice, but they were expensive. And a couple more from random places that weren't wearable really. I may try making my own with bundle hair.

I believe some people like a little more lace in order to glue the wig front down, then they put foundation/concealer on the lace. So companies leave it all so you cut to your own preference

Most other you tubers would put the wig on and cut the lace and usually pluck the parting so you can see how it's done. Try a black channel. As they do everything with the wig on.

However, making a wig look good and not like a costume piece felt like it was going to be intimidating. This has absolutely given me the confidence to start playing with them.
I am new to wigs, and have decided to start wearing wigs, because 1- my hair is thinning up front, and 2- I am so tired of having the same style day in and day out. I want to be able to switch up hair styles whenever I feel like it, without going to a stylist dying, or cutting my hair all the time. I just got my 2nd wig today. For gel that doesn't flake unless you put too much in, I suggest L'Oreal Mineral FX gel to try on the baby hairs. I have dark curly hair & scrunch my hair while blow drying. Other gels tend to flake more easily, but this stuff is pretty darn good. I use #3 hold.

Do you ever use gel, hairspray or glue to keep your lace front more secure, or multiple consecutive days? If so could you show your method, preferred products and results? Such as longevity of install, and potential for damage to skin, own haid, lace, and wig hair. Also, something I feel is missing in other people's attempts to address the above is how to best remove the wig after using some kind of glue, and what you'd need to do to get it ready to be wearable again. Thank you so much for this. I love the look of wigs and amazing colours and styles that just wouldn't be possible to do frequently on natural hair. However, making a wig look good and not like a costume piece felt like it was going to be intimidating. This has absolutely given me the confidence to start playing with them.

I am new to wigs, and have decided to start wearing wigs, because 1- my hair is thinning up front, and 2- I am so tired of having the same style day in and day out. I want to be able to switch up hair styles whenever I feel like it, without going to a stylist dying, or cutting my hair all the time. I just got my 2nd wig today. I need to learn how to put on wigs, and you did an awesome job in demonstrating. I have long hair and it is kind of difficult putting the wig on, so I may cut my hair very short like yours. BTW, this wig looks great on you. Thanks for the demonstration.

For gel that doesn't flake unless you put too much in, I suggest L'Oreal Mineral FX gel to try on the baby hairs.
I have dark curly hair & scrunch my hair while blow drying.
Other gels tend to flake more easily, but this stuff is pretty darn good.
I use #3 hold.

Dk why I'm seeing this video pop up in my feed 3 yrs later but I am glaaad. Made that look so effortless. I have LOT of hair but I so wanna wear wigs, always have, but just cannot make it work. Trying to tuck all my hair into a wig cap etc, can't do it.

New subscriber! I always wanted to wear wigs but I’ve been so confused on how to make them look natural you explained and showed how to do it so clearly thank you!
Do you ever use gel, hairspray or glue to keep your lace front more secure, or multiple consecutive days? If so could you show your method, preferred products and results? Such as longevity of install, and potential for damage to skin, own haid, lace, and wig hair.
Also, something I feel is missing in other people's attempts to address the above is how to best remove the wig after using some kind of glue, and what you'd need to do to get it ready to be wearable again.

Iraida Aurora you could maybe maybe finesse some baby hairs on a hard front wig, but you cannot pluck hair from non-lace.
