I seriously love the theme of Nice does not equal Good Chloe believed she was good because she follows the rules and a good girl Red still stays true to herself without denying the goodness in her The Get your hands dirty was favorite and young Cinderella truly portrayed the theme so well
4:44 Where my brain went after seeing this: - Ella and Red are somehow sent back into that future - Ella and Red manage to grab Charming and escape - They get Chad because they know The Queen of Hearts will be after all of them (and maybe Dizzy as well). - They manage to find a safe house good enough distance away so that they can take the time to stay and work out a new plan and to just catch their breath. - Charming is so grief stricken that he can hardly get out of bed. - Chloe is panicking but trying not to show it because of what happened to Cinderella and how she's seeing her dad now, so she's trying to distract herself by doing just about everything around the place (keeping it clean, cooking, finding something to keep her active when it's obvious to everyone that she's on the breaking point). - Red is mostly watching, tries to give some advice when she can but it mostly falls on deaf ears and either knows on instinct not to push it too much or was advised by Dizzy (who saw the original VKS go through grief when Carlos died) to give Chloe some time till she's ready to listen and to just be there for her. - Chad is also panicking through grief but mostly seems to just be acting the way he does whenever anything unpleasant or unexpected happened int he original franchise happened, telling other people to fix it, refusing to do things, complaining that he doesn't know how to do something and is basically just standing there and comes of as complaining and whining all the time. - Chloe finally snaps at Chad (I'm seeing it as a case of her asking him to help with the dishes, him saying he doesn't know how to or refusing to), telling him that she's sick of hearing him complain and whine all the time, that all his life he's gotten other people to do things for him, using either his title as Prince to get things for him or using his charm to get girls to do his homework for him while mocking others all the time, that she used to think he was cool because he seemed confident and then she found out about how he treated other students at Auraodon Prep and became embarrassed to be related to him and that that was one of the reasons she tried her best at everything was because she didn't want people to think that they were alike (and could fit in her worldview, she could theorise to herself 'Chad was mean to others so he got locked up that time') and that the only thing he's accomplished on his own was when he radically changed his hair (from the straighter brown in Descendants 1 to the curlier blonde in Descendants 2 and 3) and that the worst thing that had ever happened to him was when Audrey had locked him in the cupboard for a few hours after he had allied himself with her despite knowing that she was trying to hurt people. Finally telling him that their mum is dead and their dad is broken and that no one is going to fix anything for them this time so for once in his life he needs to stop thinking about himself and work - all said in what was supposed to be a forced/harsh whisper because she didn't want their dad to hear them argue but getting more upset every second till it sounds like she's nearly jsut stopping herself from yelling at him. - Things are quiet the next day - though we actually do see Chad trying to help out a bit (though not very good at it). - In the evening Chloe is sitting by herself, Chad comes out with some tea, saying that he knows that she likes hot chocolate better but he burned the milk on the stove but he was able too igure out how to make tea with a teabag, Chloe says it's got too much sugar in it and Chad said he heard that sugar was good when people are feeling a shock, and they end up talking more than they have in the last few years about everything, including Chloe telling him about how she went back in time and saw how difficult their mum's childhood was and how even though they knew the basic facts of her story they never stopped to really think about it. - the next morning they wake up to find charming making breakfast, knowing how Chad, Chloe and Dizzy like their eggs, being perhaps a little withdrawn around Red but still polite even though he can only guess how she likes her eggs (I'm torn between her never having tried eggs or not liking them but both ways a little flattered that even though she can guess how he feels about her mum and about herself he's still trying to be nice or at least civil to her), telling them a story about the time Cinderella taught him how to make coffee one early morning, and then apologising to his children for not being able to be there when they needed him. Haven't gotten much further than that, am guessing they'd ask him about exactly what happened that night that Bridget got pranked and why she's still hurting from it and making a plan from there but I haven't got anything concrete yet.
ngl after seeing chad a few times i fully expected to see his and chloe's family as entitled kinda like audrey and her grandmother, but DAMN i was proved wrong, and im so glad i was!
Actually black Cinderella came first! And if you haven’t found it already, I highly recommend the movie that the Brandy/Paolo pairing for Cinderella and Prince Charming came from: Cinderella (1997).
Who did you want to see Is Sara White the Daughter of Snow White and Prince Florian Talia the Daughter of princess tiana and prince Which did you want to see Is Sara White Snow White's daughter Talia princess Tiana's daughter
I guess he failed his final year at Auradon Prep, and that sort of scared him into reality so for the first time in his life he buckled down and worked rather than using his charm to get other to do his homework for him and managed to pass the next year. Would explain why he really wanted his parents to come see him at the tourney match, he wants to keep showing that he can apply himself and achieve something.
or they're going with complete colourblind casting from the 1997 movie where Brandy and Paolo first placed Cinderella and her Prince (though in that movie his name is Christopher). Or if they're following that movie then it could be that he takes more after his paternal grandfather (played by Victor Garber in the 1997 movie - Whoopi Goldberg played the Queen).
That glow behind Brandy when she came in. was a perfect touch
Well she did learn from her fairy godmother, Whitney

Even after all these years, Brandy and Paolo have such great chemistry ❤
Brandy is so royal and regal in this movie
Cinderella is so pretty 😀
What’s brilliant about the Brandy and Paolo casting here is that it’s both a role reprisal and a new role for them.
Choles so kind ❤😊
I love these two together :)❤
Both of them certainly have aged well.
First time I saw this I was surprised
They got my favorite Cinderella actors ❤
