im pretty sure you can say unprecendted regarding 3 national champs on one side of the bracket. can we name another time thats ever happened? probably not because they used to seed this tournament like intelligent humans
Chris Bono keeps him from winning a title. If he went to Iowa or hell even Rutgers he would’ve had a shot. He’s just not that guy. He’s kind of like Sammy Sasso imo. Great wrestler, but when he wrestled guys like Yianni, O’Connor, Austin Gomez, Henson, etc he’d lose. Both beasts but just aren’t #1 guys. Obviously Hamiti is in a ridiculous weight class, but take away Carr and Ramirez per say and he’s still 2-4 at best.
Vito might just surprise everyone again. Crookham is definitely the real deal, but I think Vito took a hit mentally being that such a tough kid faced him right after an injury in that first meeting. The second meeting showed a Crookham shot that's very hard to stop, but Vito has experienced it more now and might be able to stop more of them now. That second meeting ALSO showed a Vito stalking a less confident Crookham. Yeah he gained more by winning, but you could see that is VERY winnable for Vito. I would like Vito to hone more top skills, but that's for years ago and he's a freestyle guy with lots of inventory to shuffle around trying to be tops at both styles. This year could also make it difficult for him to stay on top in freestyle, but if he's healthy... he definitely can. That's probably the most difficult hurdle and biggest ingredient for if Vito could win it all again-- health. Last year he seemed in perfect health (almost impossible for NCAA's), and he would have beaten all these guys if combined into last year. Crookham seems very big and powerful at that weight for being so young. If Vito doesn't make it, I am really curious about Crookham vs. Fix. I'm not sure what to think of that.
I'm a Dean hamity fan. However, hie often does David Carr have a one-takedown win? Carr usually does really good, then has at least one weird loss. Hamiti, for some reason can't find the way to beat Carr.
I agree and for being a lazy fan (not "casual", not inexperienced-- I wrestled lol) -- I don't keep up with everything each week-- I was surprised to see such natural talent the first time I watched Hamiti. Yes he has the academics others have, but even among other D1 guys, he moves differently and improvises at a unique level. It seems some of his matches show a guy who should beat them all, and then somebody slows him down or anchors him with wrestling very close and "heavy". If he gets the momentum I've seen in some matches, he could get the the finals.
Matt Ramos will lose before the semis. The national final at 125 will have at least one guy lower than the 6 seed. I think Jore Volk has a legit shot to make the finals. Then for all we know Caleb Smith or someone like that will hit on the bottom.
Brock losing to Lemley was such a BS match to watch. Brock had at least 3 back points that were never given. Twice now Brock has been screwed by the refs from at least having the chnace for big wins.
well if you stay in college long enough you're bound to win it at some point. maybe this is the year. maybe 2029 but hes not leaving without that natty!! @@keyboard2758
@@keyboard2758 honestly kind of. I've been a fan of woods since he was at Stanford so I'm a little biased. I have a feeling he'll be a repeat of Jaydin Eierman his senior year. I feel Drake cause he beat Davis but not very confident in that one either and Andonian was just a wild pick just because.
We all know that Christian is terrible at these videos. Boring, meandering, confused. No shade on the guy--it's a tough job. BUT there just has to be someone better at these breakdowns.
@@Noles1212 yeah I don’t get the Davis hype. I know he won big tens but 8 dudes could’ve won it. I still remember when he should’ve lost to OSUs backup
Bro - you need some graphics and charts with the commentary
Like what? A picture of the bracket?
Tory beat Richard in the dual like 5-13
low attention span eh?

If Starocci and Brooks make finals to go for their 4th title, what weight do we think they start at for the finals? I would guess Hwt.
Bingo
I think the finals will start at HWT….this will give Braeden IF HE MAKES THE FINALS, a little momentum after Kerk wins
A whole lotta “ifs” for that to play out.
Finals 100% start at HWT to end on Carter and brooks being crowned 4x champs
Thanks for this CP, filling out my brackets while listening, not following exactly but the input is awesome
Maaaan. Your 125 bracket sounds so crazy. It's not impossible. It just sounds so so wrong 😂
Hamiti upsets Carr and O’toole and gets revenge on messenbrink
Hamiti is smooth. Give him space and he does magic.
Dean is sweet, but 165 is just unholy. If you even AA at 165, it's almost like winning another weight.
Messenbrink is taken the title!!
That would be an MVP performance. These guys are all phenomenal. And class acts in and off the mat.

**** 125 is wide open. Any one of 6-7 guys can make the finals. I''m picking Stanich over Figueroa.
Yonger did it against Hendrickson by backing up for 2 1/2 periods.
36 yo Daton Fix in his 16th year of college wrestling, should be drug tested and will lose again.

And Dean was taking Mitchell Messenbrink down multiple times and winning before gassing. So I think Carr would stifle Messenbrink too.
