That explains how the Clone Army got their wonderful toys from the weapons corporations contracted with Kamino during ten years of building up 200,000 units and a million more on the way.
Make no mistake that the Galaxy was run by Credits, and no doubt that had the corporations had their ways they would have been profiting from both sides of the war forever. Kuat Drives motto: Everyone needs warships and vehicles to protect themselves and what they care about, and because we're the best at it we can pretty much do whatever we want because everyone needs us so they won't punish us.
Yes, but beige prose goes a long way. Take, for example, the Spartan Rangers from Metro: "If not us, then who?", which symbolize why they're arguably the first, last, and only line of defense and occasional offense for the places they keep watch and guard upon since no others can do such that without making things very wrong.
Well a bonus must be when IF someone has the balls to ACTUALLY do something as rash as an attack they WON'T get the finest or even good equipment, if any, and they probably can call on MORE then enough protection, on top of what is likely gonna beat VERY well equipped, trained and big defense force
Kuat of Kuat kinda had a heart, since he paid his employees and subservients surprisingly well and without stingy regret, as shown in the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. He even ordered their safe evacuations from his primary facility when Boba Fett wrecked the place himself.
So they were about on par with honorable villains, they commit horrible things to enemies and people not associated with them, but they are at least loyal and kind to those loyal to them. It's so difficult to find cooperate mega powers that are actually nice to their own employees. Are they hiring? lol.
Ah kuat drive yards. My go to warmachine planet that made my executor in awakening of the rebellion. They crank up more star destroyers more than my other drive yards.
Huh. It's been a hot minute since we got a "dark" video. Kuat is one of those funny "third party" powers in Star Wars. Near the end of the Old EU, one of their nobles even launched a conspiracy with several high-ranking members of the Galactic Alliance and Empire's bureaucratic and military elite in an attempt to become empress of a new empire, alongside one of the Empire's Moffs. They actually got fairly far along too, but... well I'll save it for anyone interested in reading the "Legacy of the Force" books. Let's just say it got weird, but in a fun way for the reader, not so much the participants. Fun fact: The Star Destroyer featured at around 9:30 was actually one from the old Sith Empire, which threatened the old Republic some centuries beforehand. On the one hand, I like the symmetry, though I find it weird that the Republic would independently adopt the same military designs of their old enemy over three millennia after the latter's fall, do so independently after a millennium of disarmament, *and* from a planet that (to my knowledge) had little to do with the old empire. Seriously, Palpatine's taste in art, architecture, and weapons, along with those of his cronies, should have been an alarm for the more historically-informed among the Republic's citizens, and I still wonder why he would bring back the Moff program *under the same name* rather than at least attempting to be subtle by giving his followers similar powers but with a different title.
I am still confused how the heck nobody in the Republic, especially the Jedi, do not noticed the similarities between the Star Destroyers and the Harrower-class dreadnoughts.
@@lerneanlion After thinking about it again, suppose I can be more forgiving towards most of the Republic when considering the scale of Star Wars. Think about it this way: three millennia in the past for us means not just before Christ, but before Rome and Classical Greece, and just after the Bronze Age Collapse. I suppose it's hardly surprising most would barely even know of the Harrowers, much less draw comparisons in the three years of the Clone Wars. Still, it's unfortunate we never hear such discussions from historians or archivists in-universe. It would have been a good chance to reference KOTOR, especially Gnost Dural, Lana and other notable Jedi and Sith, and remind the main characters that the Sith have been known to come back from "extinction" more than once.
@@buck342443 I'd say that it's less because they didn't see & more that they didn't care. By the time before the clone wars, the Jedi & the Mandalorians have gotten at least tolerant with each other. While the Jedi didn't like Mandalorian history & culture all that much, they nonetheless respected the Mandalorian's skills in the art of warfare.

Just think, if alot of what we know as Imperial Star Destroyers especially BIGGER then Victory class was available to the GAR an allied forces the CIS Navy coulda been in for some serious problems.

Why the Third Republic just not given more authority to Mon Cala to patrol the Outer Rim and to produce starships for the Republic as the new competitor of the Kuat Drive Yard? By doing so, both Mon Cala and Kuat will become each other's competitor that will keep one another in check. P.S: Why the heck nobody in the Republic ever notice the similarities between the Star Destroyers and the Harrower-class dreadnoughts of the Second Sith Empire?!
The first US jet fighter was based on the Nazi Me262. If something has a good design, it has a good design. Should the Jedi not use lightsabers because the Sith have identical weapons?
In warfare, practicality trumps pretty much everything. If the enemy has something noteworthy & even proven to be superior than what you have, you just about devising your own based on their designs.
