This was so much fun to watch. I think Jackson did an amazing job. He catches on so fast to anything at such an early age. Calvin did good too. Thought it was a great idea that he just stayed on the ice, with his shoes on. He is little, but he is getting the feeling of skating. He watches Jackson and I feel he is also going to pick up things very fast. Going to watch this video a few more times. I like to do that because I don't always see everything the first time. Jackson is such a little achiever. First skiing, then riding his bike and now ice skating. He is just amazing.
As a figure skater myself, there's nothing like ice to teach kids how to stand on their own two feet! Highly recommend lessons! Love to all of you!

i was also born on January 9th. when i was 2 days old, my mother got me out of the hospital early to go watch my bothers hockey tournament. i started skating at 2 1/2. my mom walked me to the middle of the ice and left me there, the only way i could get off the ice is if i skated off because i didn't like the cold. i stood up and skated to my mom, that day my family spent 3 hours at the rink and my mom could not get me off. i have been playing hockey for almost 16 years now and i will be turning 19 in January. i now teach my niece how to skate and i try to take every moment in. Makes me smile seeing you do this with Jackson and Calvin, make sure you take in every moment.

I'm always so impressed by Jackson's love for adventure and giving things his all!! That will take him so far in life! I need to learn some things from Jackson!

Oh my gosh I have that five minute journal. I thrifted it lol, and because of this the first few pages of it has been graced with the gratitude of the previous owner but I didnt care. I loved the book
I've found puppies to quickly learn sit when you hold a treat in your fist, put it by their nose and kind of push them back into a sit position by moving your hand that way above them... if that makes sense? I even taught a family dog that way that they had been trying to teach to sit for 2 years! haha we have two labs we've had since they were 8 weeks, so fun!

Does anyone else think Jackson is has the potential to be a great athlete? He seems to pick up on things so FAST!! (Bike riding, ice skating). What a kid :) Calvin on the rink is so cute too. I love when he gives Jared the knuckles.

It is amazing how fast they learn to skate when they are little ones. We go skating and swimming every Sunday which has helped them in leaps and bounds.

I have two boys who play hockey. We put one into a learn to skate program and he did great. The other one just did a ton of open skate and taught himself. When they are young like this they take to it so quickly. If you kept taking Jackson to open skate regularly he will be flying around the rink in no time! Hockey is the best sport out there, in my opinion :)

I have not been ice skating since I was a teenager! Jackson did much better than I did, I spent more time falling than anything. They open a rink here around Christmas time, but I always forget about it. I love to roller skate though, and I am old fashioned and do regular old 4 wheel skates, not in-line. It looks like y'all had a great fun family day!

This vlog has such a special place in my heart because I coach skating lessons and I would love to see Jackson become even better! He did so amazing his first time! Most of the kids I teach can't take a few steps by themselves their first time let alone do what Jackson did :)
