G'razzt!!!!! What of G'razzt!?!?!? Dude got 3 whole layerers of the abyss! He's the demon prince of "Shit Dawgs, my ex just rolled up, I gotta bounce." He got a kid owns his own country and is a demigod. He got Asmodeus as a former employer reference on his damn resume. Ain't no other prominent demon lord with this few crippling psychiatric issues.
58:44 A brooch is the clasp that holds a cloak in place, though it is sometimes used for other purposes. It's like a big, sturdy safety pin or carabiner, usually with a artistic design to cover up the mechanism. IIRC _Brooch of Shielding_ is a magic item in the DMG, or you could just look at a photo of Frodo wearing a cloak from the Peter Jackson LotR films.
I think it's worth noting that the transformation the Sword of Zariel is permanent, so even if you lose the sword you still keep the 20 CHA, Truesight, and wings. So the only thing keeping you from passing the sword around and turning your whole party into Psuedo-Angels is the Sword's selective nature. Do with that what you will
I am so glad to see this featured… my Silver Dragonborn paladin of Bahamut ventured into Avernus with the rest of my group’s party, obtained her sword, and opened myself to a possible fatal blow when I handed Zariel back her sword by the blade with the hilt toward her… a Nat 20 with a charisma bonus to rival Will’s saved the day. She took the sword and light streamed forth as the decay and taint of Baator washed away and she abandoned her misguided crusade and returned to the service of lawful good and began her penance. The legend of Rodan has echoed into later campaigns.
Let's get some more William's Story Corner, where he tells Brian Adventure Modules and other DnD tales just like how he did during the stat blocks. It can be DnDrunken History
Fantastic job. When I need information or inspiration for an upcoming encounter or much needed lore I start with you two. Thank you and keep killing it.
Man, I appreciate you guys. I have six acres to mow at least once a week on the farm that we mistakenly bought during the early covid panic. The rest of my family has decided they are definitely not farm people but still, I have to still maintain the place while the world burns from global warming. As I sit on my mower in the flames of hell, listening to you guys has been a small cool breeze of joy as I go mindlessly back and forth. Thank you.
Idk if I would let Zariel suppress the major detriment of the Sword if Avernus. I imagine her having Bel forge it, followed by his smug teasing of placing a hand to his ear, knowing she can't speak while wielding it.
First comment from someone that has listened for years now. I started listening when I was starting to get curious about D&D, and you two helped me engage with the lore of the world, and got me interested in playing. Thanks for all the years of hard work and slippery puns. And hope the game doesn't get absorbed by the maw of corporate greed. PD: +1 for implementing the metric system. Now I don't have too google measurements anymore! :D
Finally made it through all the archives🤟 I listen on Spotify all day at work, but Spotify doesn’t have comments so here we are. I just recently fell into this obsession as a hobby last October or so. I’ve listened to every episode now! Such excellent inspiration when coming up with adventures. I loved so much of the monster lore that y’all present that I made my adventurer’s starting guild in my homebrew world a creature relocation program. It was inspired by the idea that one of you had about relocated an Ancient Blue Dragon before it dies so that the endless rain could benefit a desert region. Fun stuff! Also super stoked for Baldur’s Gate 3!
Demogorgon be with you Brothers! Your show has helped me with so many One Shots and adding more of that deep lore to my main campaigns. This episode is no exception, excellent job as always. I am currently running a campaign where one of my players is playing a blood hunter with a custom longsword we've named Navari. It began as a base longsword but we gave it an ability to engulf other weapons and gain those abilities by performing an hour long ritual and other components that get burned up upon success. This way Navari can grow with the character. The Sword of Zariel and the Sword of Avernus have given me so many new ideas for late game possibilities with this character and Navari. Especially since he is slowly transforming into a devil himself with some homebrew transformation mechanics based off of the stuff from Grim Hollow. Anyways, love the show! And I've been a backer for Starseeker's Guide since the Kickstarter. Can't wait to see Al the new inspiration you guys will offer. Keep up the good work!
I love the Dungoecast! I’ve been listening to this show on Spotify for years, it’s one of my favorite podcasts/shows. I’ve even re-listened to the whole catalog more than a couple times. Every time I listen I seem to learn something new. The lore and information is great. I haven’t found another show quite like this one that provides as much info, lore, comedy, and entertainment. Brian and William have great chemistry, their back and forth commentary is awesome and hilarious. I could go on forever about this show, but I’ll stop here. Reading this comment back it kind of sounds like a review… oh well. Shout out Demogorgon!! 🤘🏼 WorkEthics84
I'm always really happy to see new episodes from you guys. it feals crazy that I've see literally hundreds from you guys and you still keep improving and consistently be my favorite content creator on the internet
Thanks for the shoutout for the Demogorgon print and paint! I am beyond excited for the incredibly kind words! That was my first time shipping something so awkwardly shaped, so apologies for the breaks, but glad you were able to cast some healing magic on Lord Demogorgon! The episode was awesome as usual. I'm getting close to concluding Ravenloft campaign and looking at running Descent into Avernus next, so this was very interesting lore for me personally. Thanks again guys!
Nice way of saying they're third, eh? Just pullin' your leg, but always funny when someone says that kinda thing. Like, "I'd put 'em in the top4" ... why not top 3? Just say they're fourth then! or just say you think they're good
I have a player who made a pact with Zariel but broke it becoming a Paladin of Lathander hunting for the sword to redeem her. By far one of the best character’s I have ever had the pleasure of being the DM for
Loved the episode that short rest was awesome and hope to hear more of the wizard and warrior duo, I do question Williams lawful good alignment after that wetzels pretzels comment tho
I just remembered, when you were talking about how cool alminster is I listened to the audio book series up until the big power up & there was a character at some point named either grimly or gromley & I assume that was on purpose? I think it may have been the name of a guard or thief from the first book before his respec
Love the module narration video series idea . But more importantly when will we get a campaign 2 of Drakkenstar? As always " Shout out to Demogorgon " 🎉
Jander was the main character other than Strahd in the 1st Ravenloft novel Vampire of the Mists. The novel introduced the setting before the Campaign setting was released. The original idea of the novels was that there were supposed to be no multiple book stories and you could just pick up any Ravenloft book and just read it without having read any of the other books. Then they did the 2 I Strahd novels kinda breaking that.
So I wrote a back story for a player. He is currently playing a vampire but we have modified it a bit. He gave me some pointers for his backstory. Pretty much he was abandoned at a monastery and doesn’t know why he was left there. I’m thinking of having him be an offspring of zariel. His monastery is a monastery of the morning lord Lathander. The monastery protects an opening to Avernus.
LIFE HACK: Try invading hell with some of your friends! If you make it back undamned you will be super-elite and probably get a cool nickname or something!
The forced changes of this sword strike me as far more evil and insidious than the Wand of Orcus, twisting you into something utterly foreign to what you were while putting the idea of it all being righteous and good is just disturbing. I've seen stories who's villains do this type of stuff, and this example doesn't seem much better.
What do you both think of my Artificer Space Pirate Lizardfolk who crash landed in the nine realms? Keep up the good work love the show all the best from London

• Gets pissed when they see cruelty or injustice.
• Forgives way too easily.
The Sword of Zariel literally just turned William into Naruto 💀

You guys continue to knock it out of the park week after week.
Thanks for the information, i don't hafta think about work the whole time I'm there thanks to you guys.

Can't wait for BG3 to see how much of the adventure made it into the game.

As someone who is both running Decent into Avernus and is crazy excited for Baldur's Gate 3, I really appreciate this episode haha

This artifact is the Key to my whole current campaign! Freakin sweet!
Still in my top 3 dnd UA-cam shows and it’s not even close to put you guys that high. EPIC as usual

Hey guys, thank you for your work.
That short rest! You guys are such dorks and I love it 😂
Loved the short rest sketch
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the episode that short rest was awesome and hope to hear more of the wizard and warrior duo, I do question Williams lawful good alignment after that wetzels pretzels comment tho
Angels and devils are legos…. I love it.
I've been listening for a long time (love the show), and just realized that Brian looks like how I imagined William.
Hell riders, they should’ve been hell surfers. I can only picture then surfing on the river Styx on their swords. Also love the Digimon reference.
The short rest bit was HILARIOUS!!!! You guys are great! Please keep the videos coming.
Hey let me win something, I never comment.
This was an awesome episode!

Great content as always. Cheers from Canada!
Love the module narration video series idea . But more importantly when will we get a campaign 2 of Drakkenstar? As always " Shout out to Demogorgon " 🎉
Not until I finish the Draken Star Setting Book!

New subscriber - great show guys! Gonna action surge and listen to some more!
Excellent! Welcome!
Man I'm so hyped for BG3.
Where is that awesome demogorgon from?
A fan sent it in. They printed and painted it themselves. Shout out to demogorgon!
The forced changes of this sword strike me as far more evil and insidious than the Wand of Orcus, twisting you into something utterly foreign to what you were while putting the idea of it all being righteous and good is just disturbing. Wait?? Jander was the vampire lord that attacked Elturel?? But that's completely at odds with his character??
Great vídeo my dudes
I guess it is just that avenue that street that that I don't get sick of is there a street? Would be crazy
I love these episodes!! Have you ever thought about covering some World of Darkness?
LETS FUCKIN GOOOOO!
Nice!
Watt is now moonlighting as someone else I guess 😂😂
Shhhh. Illian Star is his own unique character and definitely does not share the same exact voice of another popular TDC/SQS character!!
What do you both think of my Artificer Space Pirate Lizardfolk who crash landed in the nine realms?
Keep up the good work love the show all the best from London
How would Baldur's Gate 3 be different if they went with the Zariel redeemed story branch conclusion?
Dungeoncast does just a sword, Adeptus Ridiculous does just a gun....wtf is this world coming to?
I love you guys and I would like to win the new game of Baldur’s Gate for my XBox One.
How will the winner of the giveaway be notified?
Your top 10.
Can’t wait for Brian to spin the sword of Zariel to be her weiner !
28:03
Baldur's gate let's go go go
The sword is obviously powerful but no "+" bonus?
