The more demos I hear of this model, the more I like it. At first, I thought it was just another generic nod in the direction of a Les Paul. But with several demos, now it really does keep that unique Gretsch sound, despite the P-90s. ...and that Gretsch sound? I can't put a finger on it, but I know when I hear it. With this model, it proves that the Gretsch pickups aren't the only factor. Beautiful guitar and fantasic sound. I would love to hear it through a Vox AC30 or a 50 watt Marshall Silver Jubilee.
Sweet man, thanks!! Beautiful playing and tone. This video helped to get one on it's way here today lol! Jade Green though, I'm Native and that one just "spoke" to me. Wado, dohiyi!
Great review and great playing as always and as mentioned by someone below, a great guitar player can make any cra... guitar sound fantastic ! Thanks !
Nice review. I like that you played a few different kinds of music. So many reviews, especially Gretsch reviews stick to one musical style (usually chicken pickin or country style for Gretsch), but Gretsch guitars can cover so much sonic ground.
I played one of these yesterday and couldnt believe it was only £489. Blew some 1k+ guitars out the water. Played lots of guitars yesterday at various prices but this one stuck in my mind all day.......and it was the cheapest 🤷♂️
I have one, it has become my go to guitar, i have several other more expensive ones and this is as good at least as them, i had to get it set up but it’s a wonderful guitar!😊
Hey, I grabbed this very green cutie in friday. I love this guitar, absolutely! But: i am experiencing pretty heavy humming in both bridge and neck position. Its already pretty hearable clean. Makes it almost unplayable in drive channel. Mid position almost no issue! Whats wrong? Anyone same experiences or solutions? I am running this guitar through a blackstar HT20 valve combo. Gain 3/10, volume 3/10, master 4/10. Double checked it with a still existing Katana100. Same issue.
Just the nature of single coil pickups, in the middle position it combines the two like a humbucker so it cancels out the sound. The environment you play in can contribute as well, lights, electric source, etc.
It's all about killing the volume when you're not playing, or switching the pickup selector to the middle during breaks. There are certain angles you can stand at that will vastly reduce hum as well. There are things you can do with shielding the pickups and the electronics as well, but the hum will always be there on any single coil guitar. Many of your favorite records were made with that hum, but it takes a little time to learn to manage. If you're playing at very high gain, you may need electronic noise reduction, but I've never liked that or really needed it.

It doesn't really have the Gretsch sound, as that sound was made with Filter'Trons, but it's a nice take on the LP Special.

You have the touch Mr. The guitar is a value and then some. It really sounds good, for not alot of money.
Great review and great playing as always and as mentioned by someone below, a great guitar player can make any cra... guitar sound fantastic ! Thanks !
This is not a piece of crap, it's a great guitar.
A great guitar player can make a plank of wood with some metal strips on it sound fantastic! Hats off - lovely playing. Thank you
Great instrument and great demo
Damn you make this guitar sound so nice!

Awesome demo! Exatly what I wanted to hear, think i'd choose this one over LP Special...

@@petermcillaney6270 that’s awesome. Did you compare it to something similar spec-wise like an Epi LP Special or maybe Gibson?
I have one, it has become my go to guitar, i have several other more expensive ones and this is as good at least as them, i had to get it set up but it’s a wonderful guitar!😊
I will have this guitar.
I´m enjoying the playing, guitar seems nice.
Such a tasteful and musical playing. It is difficult to grasp the quality of the guitar as it is just one part of the sound chain.
That’s why I value playability (neck) over tone (pickups, wood, etc)
No mention of the neck size fat or narrow in lay Mens term’s. In comparison to yr. of les Paul for example, just my own thoughts.
Yes there is , it’s on the screen at 1.26.
I like the bridge p90. E tacitly what I wanted to hear.
What about the noise from the pickups? Is it so relevant?
could you recommended a hard body case I'm struggling to find one, thanks
