Not only is it a great tune but it was written by saxophone legend Wayne Shorter and included on albums by both he and Miles Davis, during a particularly brilliant and productive period in both men's lives. Check out Wayne's version on his album Adam's Apple, and the version Miles released (in the same year) on his album Miles Smiles. Both are so great...
@@HancockInstitute I LOVE that tune deeply for a million reasons and got the chance to both see Wayne perform it with his 2004 Quartet AND hang out afterwards with him and discuss it. So wonderfully sweet and funny! if only all people could spend an hour or two with him, there would be no more war. He is pure light... and you all are peace-bringers for choosing this tune. Jazz still lives, beautifully.
Extraordinary and very enter-Wayneing! thanks Dr. Hancock.
So inspiring to see Herbie leading the way for the next gen of players. Also bass sounds incredible in the mix!
Thanks so much!
Always loved the tune. Did not know that Footprints is name of this tune. Thanks for sharing.
