This tuning is basically the AGCFAD tuning Periphery uses, just a half-step lower

@@dennisjanichts Probably for their low F# tuning. Not for the Ab tuning. I think Adam uses a 27.7 baritone scale for the low F# tuning.

somebody who's theory knowledge is better than mine - what's the point of tuning the lowest string to an G#? It makes a minor 7 with the next string, seems like it would be hard to use.
I don't know a ton of theory, but it would be pretty much the same as playing a 7 string in G# standard, but it removes the C#. So, playing a root and 5th shape on the low strings gives an octave "chord". A lot of modern bands love to jump between high and low notes for contrast in riffs, and this allows for big interval jumps. I imagine it's pretty weird with large chords though
Wouldn’t this have been easier to play on a 7 string? I get architects played on a 6 but I thought would have been easier to cover on a 7 string unless I’m completely wrong
