It has 3 USB3.1 just to know. Yep its black but all the 3 USB's are 3.1 not 3.0 , not 2.0
The USB are 3.1, not 2.0
Also the USB-c can be used to drive big external displays. So you can drive on on HDMI and one on USB-c
During my purchase it wasn't including the 3.0, now this is common
Thanks a lot for the unboxing. I have the 5580 for work. Works very well so far. It's the best laptop keyboard I've ever used as it uses most of the room and is more similar to a regular keyboard than most other laptops.
Same experience, the 5580 is the best laptop I have ever had, too.

The 5580 also has the full size keyboard with 10-key - same size. You are thinking of the 5480 and 5490, which are smaller.
So we have purchased a number of these, and had to return 7 of them due to a chip (Northbridge I believe) burning out so much so it melted the plastic cover over the chip. The first 2 we sent back and got replaced have now again burned out. Dell refuses to acknowledge any issue with manufacturing however I am hearing more and more stories similar to ours. Personally I would not be surprised to see a class action suite against Dell for this if its wide spread. I think Dell needs to step up to USB 3 and USB type C and also drop the VGA infavor of Display port. Just my 2 cents, we have now moved to Lenovo's line in this price range until Dell figures this out.

Thanks, funny part is we had 2 more go this week and Dell Support put the repairs on hold as they are out of Motherboards for these laptops. Hum.. tells me that we are not the only ones having this issue.
CircuitMan My dad's 5590 has 2 3.0 ports and a displayport. Don't know why yours doesn't. If it says "SS" by the usb port, that means it's 3.0 by the way if you want to check.
All the usbs are better than 3.0. All of them are 3.1 and type-c thunderbolt 3
All laptops nowadays are utter crap! Nothing more than flimsy Chinese toys, I'm afraid we'll never see the like of old ThinkPads or Dells again! Cost cutting everywhere for greedy manufacturers!
what is this same model but with the XCTO designation?
It has connections for additional 2.5 hdd, but they as i can see already connected to some where. Some googling tells me that i can't install additional hard drive without removig stock sdd card. Is that true?

As i see M.2 SSD is overlapping.
I don't see any Cables or Case(Caddy) or installed screws to hold Hdd.

ill been using thisee machine since 2019 and its justa amazing how craizy fast it is , and also its a game changer machine you can easy run auto cad , solid works and photo shop , and also hop on aaa games like csgo , valorant and apex all pree set on medium or higg settings , i still rock thesee machine on 2022 /2023 and feels just like new

Only if your type C has a little lightning bolt icon on the slot this mean that you can in this port.

Nice - I have this laptop, and I really love it but unfortunately the chip PU102 has released the magic smoke.
I think it says BODAZC, but i can't find any data on this chip :-( anyone here know what chip it is?
I have no problem replacing this as soon as I find out what chip it is - I have all the tools and experience, just dont know what chip this is, except it is probably a step up/down

You can but you will need a diffrent converter connection to conect the hard drive as indicated in the video.

On dell WebSite you can order a second HardDisk for the latitude 5591 but not for the latitude 5590. It's seems possible on latitude5590, but I'm not sure ! Is somebody who have already did it ? What is the reference of SSD connector and SSD rack ?

Thanks for the explanation, I have a question regarding "Dell Latitude 5590", this laptop has one USB type-c port which is "Display Port Over Type C". Does that mean, this port can be used only for display propose only? If I have a Type-c earphone, can I use this port for meetings (means audio and mic)?

If the type C has a little lightning bolt icon can charge other type of hardware and power them also, the Current type C can display audio and network from this port, its best use with a type C docking station for a combination of sort even charge the laptop from here..

This review is somewhat misleading when it comes to the connectors. Apart from the USB 3.1 already mentioned, it also has a single Thunderbolt 3 port, which allows the use of more than one external display without relying on the VGA.
What I'd want to know, however, is if it comes ready with cables for the additional hard drive? I've never seen laptop-sized cables for sale; either the computer already has them or you connect the hard drive directly into the connectors. But this one doesn't seem to provide either option based on the video, unless the cables are somehow crammed aside, out of sight.
There is no thunderbolt. There is USB-C port, but it does not support thunderbolt (but it does support DP). There is no cables for HDD included, but you can get one on eBay for cheap.

Terrible review riddled with misinformation. For example, that's not a "smaller version of the WWAN card", it's just the WLAN card. Also, you cannot have both a 2.5in drive and an M.2 drive installed at the same time, because the 2.5in drive caddy obstructs the M.2 mount.

Terrible. So much wrong info here.
-You can NOT install 2.5 SSD/HDD while the m.2 is still there, unless you take the sata 2.5 ssd out of the enclosure, and you just glue it to the case or something. There is not enough space.
-All ports are USB3. There are no USB2 ports on this laptop. Obviously all USB 3 ports are backwards compatible.
-It's a USB Type-C on the side, NOT micro-USB. Yes, it is a big difference.

I bought this Dell 5591 laptop. Been using it for 2 months. Its horrible sound speakers on it! Very poor sound quality. And the backlight on keyboard is very cheap... Apart from that an ok laptop for work. Nothing special
my processor is on fire, I have done everything and it has not worked. Terrible laptop do not buy it.
Have you replaced the thermal paste on it?
