    That's why you're favoring the 6 o'clock point of impact. It doesn't make a lot of difference, but it _could_ be the difference someday.
    This drill is great for exercising all of those skills, takes less than an hour (even if you're solo) and only requires one box of ammunition.

    Dot Torture is aptly named. It is not my favorite. It is a test of mental focus, shooting mechanics, and, as Nat talked about, endurance. I haven't shot it in a while. Today is a good day to revisit it. Thank you for featuring it.

    Hi Natalie, if you are willing to take a suggestion from a rando commentor I'd like to suggest you try something that may help with your recoil management. With either empty hands or a blue gun if you have one take up your normal shooting stance and aim like you are about to fire. Now have a partner stand directly in front of you (hence why you aren't going to use a live firearm) and push on your hands toward you in the direction of recoil. You may notice that your shoulders are getting pushed back and you are starting to lose your balance a little. Now repeat the exercise but have your partner slowly increase the pressure while you resist trying to keep your body from moving. You will naturally engage your stomach muscles straighten your spine as you lean in a bit to resist. Now once you feel that try the same thing when shooting: engage your stomach and lean in just a bit like you are ready to push or in this case resist the push of recoil. I believe you will find that you recoil management is improved and that you get back onto target faster because you will have removed the bounce in your shoulders. Let me know if that helps.
