Nick is and always will be my guitar hero .. no one sounds like him and probably one of the most underrated guitarist of all time … I dream of them getting back together
As a Yank , across the “ pond” . I fully concur with your opinion. I play too, But Nick always made it so effortless and surreal…. Trust me not as easy as it sounds 🤙🏽
Thanks for this video. Very nice to watch. 1:06 Sit and wonder 7:09 Sonnet 11:46 Rather be 17:23 This is music 21:35 Lucky man 26:50 Bitter sweet symphony 33:59 Love in noise
OMG! NO WORDS The Sound is perfection -- This is Music--- My Music FOREVER Richard has the Best Voice -- - Nick Guitar perfection.... Keep the Music coming!!!!!!
God, those vocals on Rather Be...! They're so perfect that, if it wasn't the gigantic Richard singing here, i would have guessed they are pre-recorded. They're perfectly sung, balanced... Everything. Speaks volume on the incredible talent of this band and their singer
+Eden tification Maybe some people prefer other bands though. Alot of taste has to do with when a person was brought up, teenage years or personal relations to music. I admire all the bands you mentioned and I know they influenced the majority of modern music today, but I prefer The Verve, Depeche Mode, U2 and Oasis also myself. They are a part of Me growing up
Such a shame that the albums stopped coming. But thank God we got to hear this glorious music while they were around. Saw them on their comeback in 2007 at the Camden Roundhouse, hairs on end.
The Pumpkins are my favorite band of all time. However, I can't really put The Verve behind them. The Verve I believe in the 90s were such a powerful phenomenon that they changed me personally for life. There will never be another band as powerful. Lightning in a bottle
This band are so important. His gets better with age. I feel lucky to have grown up with verve as my soundtrack. From Slide Away to This Thing Called Life...unreal.
Brilliant, Love is noize, Sit and wonder , and Rather be!!! I wonder if Nick resented the violinist ?? He so virtuoso..🤷🏻♂️. Loved this band through all the highs and lows…. Solid Band. Boy , the hours spend listening to this music is uncountable…. RIP The verve😘
I am always struck by cameras on bass and drums when a slide solo is ripping apart the seams of a song. Nick McCabe is the sound of this band - show his work!
Always forget what a fuckin heavy tune This Is Music is. What an album opener, it straps you to a fuckin rocket & lights the fuse - no stopping til the ride ends🤣👊👊👊🚀🚀🚀
I always got the sense that Urban Hymns was a victory lap for all the hard work they put in on previously recordings. The songs just came together with ease. Could be totally wrong, but that was the sense I always got. Lucky Man is so effortless, so simple, and yet brilliant.
Because Richard played the PR game really well.. after A Northern Soul it was all about him.. when Urban Hymns went massive how many times did you see the band on covers of magazines, always RA on his own.. even the videos for tracks.. Bitter Sweet Symphony.. the band only join him as an afterthought at the end.. and during this set he remarks about “this lot” wanting bigger wages.. his ego is enormous, and he has no qualms in thinking the rest of the Verve are his backing band.. he only got the band back together because his solo career was flagging. To him, Urban Hymns was his first solo album, his only regret is giving any credit and royalties to the rest of the band… his old mates. Let’s face it, he shines brightest with their contribution.. his solo output without them is lacking something in comparison.
Electric violin should be used far more and effects pedals etc can be used and it adds a different dimension, atmosphere to the music. Bob Dylan uses violin in some of his songs and the gtrat bass player Tony Garnier.
Absolutely love the Verve or Verve back in the day. Ashcroft just delivers the best vocals without it sounding just like the record ala Chris Martin. Shame him and McCabe hated each other. The plus is Pete Salisbury is the live/ life drummer of my favourite band. God bless The Verve and The Charlatans...
What a epic performance! Richard is great and genius, what a voice! But the camera is a dumb, ignore Nick solos, what a shame! 👎 Peter playing better than ever, Si Jones groove master, please Verve, comeback! ✌
These lads put gallagers posse in cupboard.listen to them everyday waiting on thare nx coming . Saw haigh hall hooked ever since .Saw Ashcroft 3 times solo not patch till ramps old the old stuff out
Matt Milsovic Agreed. This one hurts so much. A powerful collaboration of artists. I yearn for their return but I think Nick and Richard are just uninterested in ever playing together again.
Who returned here in 2024 🙋🏻♀️ to watch and listen to this amazing recording? 🔥
here i am 🙋♀
Just found it, love to see a high res uploaded in future
U with me always mate

Yes!
Best band the country has ever produced oasis couldn't make there coffee
Sweet Jesus - You can almost reach out and grab hold of the energy that's flying around that room. Amazing!
The Verve are soooo AMAZING!!!! It is such a shame the ego destroyed this band. Nick, Pete, Simon and Richard are incredible together!
*Richard Ashcroft's ego
The Drugs don’t work
@@trancient I see what you did, there. Very underrated comment. God, brought me here. (What else?)
@@user-vh6ts9uf6c Are you making some kind of slur against, Judeans? Historically, you might have a point. It's still racist, though.
@@Tim_Climie What on EARTH are you talking about you odd individual?
the verve remains the best band of all time
True
Forever
His voice is fucking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
really fucking!
Richard usually has his game face on whenever he performs but this is intense!
Love this one
The most thrilling rock band I ever encountered. A Northern Soul was sonic medicine during my late 20's/early 30's.
Thanks for this video. Very nice to watch.

Love the rhythm section in this band - Simon & Pete .....amazing as always
Put the four together ....simply cannot be touched
They are perfect when they are together..
one of my favorite four groups of all time, the verve, depeche mode , U2 , Oasis
Fuhrer Reich What about the Beatles? The Kinks? Led Zeppelin? Pink Floyd? Radiohead? See, only rounded to 4 i couldn't do that...
+Eden tification Maybe some people prefer other bands though. Alot of taste has to do with when a person was brought up, teenage years or personal relations to music. +Fuhrer Reich great Bands ... but I would add Coldplay to this list :)
U2 pffffft!! They have been churning the same old shite out for 25 years
Depeche Mode, The Verve, Oasis, The Beatles and Beck are my favourite!
Love this band. Its so sad they are not together anymore. Real energy 💯 🙌
Hope is the word 🙏🏻
Such a shame that the albums stopped coming. But thank God we got to hear this glorious music while they were around. Saw them on their comeback in 2007 at the Camden Roundhouse, hairs on end.
best band of the 90s
Oasis is better :/
The Pumpkins are my favorite band of all time. However, I can't really put The Verve behind them. The Verve I believe in the 90s were such a powerful phenomenon that they changed me personally for life. There will never be another band as powerful. Lightning in a bottle
Of all times!!
De lo mejor que existe grabado en vídeo en el mundoooo!!
This band are so important. His gets better with age. I feel lucky to have grown up with verve as my soundtrack. From Slide Away to This Thing Called Life...unreal.
no doubt love is noise still stands up, it was a great comeback single.
So happy they got the rights back for bittersweet symphony. Absolute best version I’ve heard This whole set is amazing, except camera guy
RIP The verve😘
without doubt the best band to of come from up north.....ever
Best band ever that come from anywhere.Peace +Respect
That accolade belongs to the Spacemen 3 without whom life would have ended for all in 1993. Even Skeletor says so!
I am always struck by cameras on bass and drums when a slide solo is ripping apart the seams of a song. Nick McCabe is the sound of this band - show his work!
The Verve.!!! So GREAT!they ARE!! SO ABOVE THEIR TIME I’m in awwwww!! 🥰🥰🥰 listening to their amazing music! 🥰❤️
Just love that sound you know.
this is awesome ...why am I here...magnetic connection...pure perfection...magical collection...yeah! Cheers! 🥰
Always forget what a fuckin heavy tune This Is Music is. What an album opener, it straps you to a fuckin rocket & lights the fuse - no stopping til the ride ends🤣👊👊👊🚀🚀🚀
This is music was the second track on the album a new decade was the opening track on a Northern soul
My band always will be happy place or no happy place. THIS IS MUSIC 🎶 🎵🎼🎤
I always got the sense that Urban Hymns was a victory lap for all the hard work they put in on previously recordings. The songs just came together with ease. Could be totally wrong, but that was the sense I always got. Lucky Man is so effortless, so simple, and yet brilliant.
Its the 1st song of The Verve I covered. Its so amazing
What Beautiful Band is The verve!
Sonnet remains their crown jewel. Phenomenal song.
The verve the best forever in the world
This Is Music is superb 🔥👌
Bloody amazing band... This is muuuuusssssic.... C'mon!!!!
Brian Hutchinson I like your taste in music mr H😋
Literally I love the Verve ♡❤️🧡💛💙💜forever!♡
Serious band 😊
The real deal 😉👌
Truly great band, every part perfect, looking forward to seeing ashcroft end of the month in liverpool, genius.
Jammy sod
The problem with this is the camera completely ignores Nick... what a travesty his career recognition has been given his EPIC contribution.
+Mark Lecuona a travesty - well said...
He doesn’t strike me as the kind who’s really that arsed, neither should anyone else be - his talent is well recognised by anyone who’s heard him
The band was just used by the front man
Because Richard played the PR game really well.. after A Northern Soul it was all about him.. when Urban Hymns went massive how many times did you see the band on covers of magazines, always RA on his own.. even the videos for tracks.. Iconic indeed!!! Will always be one of my fav bands of all time. Perfection at its finest.
The perfect set list. Amazing!!❤❤❤❤
Richard’s vocals on Love is Noise have to be up there with his greatest performance
Absolutely iconic ❤
Unique and unrepeatable
Excellent.. Never disappoint..
34:33=>LOVE IS NOISE (Amazing performing)
i think they are on their best here, really great they have added that amazing violin dude into their band
Electric violin should be used far more and effects pedals etc can be used and it adds a different dimension, atmosphere to the music. Bob Dylan uses violin in some of his songs and the gtrat bass player Tony Garnier.
Excelente presentacion. Muy buen grupo
sit and wonder! one of their best!!!!!
So wild So authentic So deep...We called them "The Verve"!!!
Drums tight Yeah

Tremenda banda
This is music...
The opener ‘Sit & Wonder’ is a great song but owes more than a little to The Charlatans’ ‘One to Another’
thats rock and roll
Epoustouflant !! = Amazing !!
Violin Rocks too! Whooo hooooo
Every song is a masterpiece

Sure he give me a spiritual Awakening or something in the beer 🔥
Give me some light..reunion please!
Indeed. Many thanks for uploading this... Great quality!
fantastici...unici
thank you for uploading this video....
Best part of this gig was Mccabe's guitarplaying. Too bad we hardly get to see it.
Apparently Simon Tong hated the more commercial stuff. Wanted everything to be more heavy bass like Storm In Heaven era
Brilhant The Verve!
Legend for uploading!
Yes.....Fucking Yes.
Amazing!!!!
Amazing ♫
Ratter be Wonderfull version!🔝💪🏻
thanks a lot

Great band
Dumb cameraman focusing on the violinist and ignoring all the Nick solos!
Amazing band performance wow.
I'm glad someone say that, finally
Yea, person should literally be fired over that. Seriously WTF, how do you not focus on the main members esp Nick during primary guitar parts
Do you think the tone of his strat works better than the les paul he used to ue?
imho the whole fucking thing was mic'ed wrong. nick and rich are both drowned out from all the bass and violin
terrible camerawork
Ashcroft Is nothing with his band mates
Fucking biblical
I don't think I've ever been more upset about a band breakup (maybe Uncle Tupelo). Then they get back together. Then another breakup.
Matt Milsovic Agreed. This one hurts so much. A powerful collaboration of artists. I yearn for their return but I think Nick and Richard are just uninterested in ever playing together again.
Back in 2009 when in few weeks Oasis and The Verve broke up. Probably the worst days of my life.
Like a kids.
