Maybe it's just cause I've watched a million Bird highlights and I was 7 in 1980 so I followed Bird throughout - but no other player I remember just looked different almost every year. I mean there was such a difference in his look and play year after year ! He looked completely different in 88 than 87 and 83 and 84 look different and definitely had a different look in 90/91/92. Either way I loved every minute

This game is a perfect example how the Lakers had sucess against the Celtics. Magic played a perfect game hitting the game winner shot at the buzzer. But the reason they won was due to the fact that the Lakers would know to deny Larry Bird`s basketball. Bird was hot during the game. But entering the 4th quarter the Lakers sucessfully denied the ball to Larry`s hand. The less touches Bird had less dangerous his team became. Riley was a master in strategy (far superior to both Jones and Rodgers) he knew how to make Bird`s impact on the game less effective. He had Michael Cooper, James Worthy and Jamaal Wilkes on Bird`s jersey (and latter Mychal Thompson on Kevin Mchale) and a solid strategy to deny the basketball to the Celts number 33.
