One of the best things about almost 50 years old is the fact that I lived my teenage in the 80s, growing up with music like this which will impress me for the rest of my life.
My mom and uncle used to record music videos when I was a kid and would play the tapes. I may have been a 1990s teen but I still loved the 1980s music and videos I watched as a kid even if some of my peers didn't "get me" or "get it"
1970s close enough………..rock truly ruled till about 76 then the tooty fruity disco coke heads arrived it made sense to then cuz the coke numbed their brains
Love this song. Being born in 1960 is awesome. A young child during the 60’s, teenager in the 70’s & young adult in the 80’s. Some of the best music ever.
I don't care how "eighties" this sounds and what some people say - it is a brilliant track, mega voice, band & Moroder's production is the icing on a damn good cake.
I'm 52, retro 70's/80's are the best. I had no idea she had a part in Thank God It's Friday, I watched that movie when I was about 9yrs old. Tubi had it on their selection so I watched it again. Terri Nunn is fabulous.
I met Teri few times in the past 10’years at house parties. Contrary to rumors, she was the sweetest and gracious pop star. So sweet. I seldom got star struck, but I did with her. Still gorgeous and kind.
I saw them in a small venue in Phoenix in '96. I was screaming the words to every single song right in the front. She noticed and held the microphone out for me to sing but I was too scared to, so she just held my hand for the chorus. I'm 54 and still love them as much as I did the first time I heard them in the early '80s.
I actually saw them twice in 1984, and I'm not a big concert goer. I was visiting in Atlanta in may, out looking for something to do, and I drive past the Fox Theater, and see "Berlin, May 5(?) 7pm w/ Real Life" and I go "hmmm, interesting... HEY, WAIT A MINUTE!! THAT's **now**!" Parked, tickets were available, got one and it was great. They had people dancing in the aisles!. Three months later they're in my home town (a college town) opening for the Thompson Twins (who they blew away!). Berlin comes out, does their set, then gets called back, and they do a cover of Prince's "Controversy". They were awesome!!
Saw her a couple of years ago at Viejas Casino --she opened for Pat Benitar. Pat and company were great, but Pat was obviously bored with doing her old songs. Terri, on the other hand, loved being out there. She went down into the crowd and hugged people, she stood on chairs and lead the audience in song. Did almost her whole set interacting directly with the audience. Very uplifting.
I can understand Pat Benatar's disenchantment with her older material. She did "Gravity's Rainbow" in the 1990s, where she basically took all the best elements of Grunge Rock, none of the bad elements, and used the elements to create numerous tracks exploding with charisma and character. She hadn't done this with her 70s and 80s material because Grunge was not a thing back then. But while the record label might have seen better success by promoting "You And I", "Sanctuary", or "Kingdom Key" as lead singles, they instead chose "Somebody's Baby", which failed to crack the Top 20. If Pat had planned on Gravity's Rainbow to be a building block of albums to come, anything she recorded before that point may seem like a step backwards to her, and her resentment towards her older songs was likely to build up over time.
Me too. She came to Reno, Nv, and performed at the Jazz festival. She walked around on some guys shoulder, and I grabbed her hand. I'll never wash it again ( Brady bunch reference)! :)
I first saw this video on MTV in 1983 on a weekend after coming home from the fair when I was a Junior in Highschool. At that time very few people had ever seen the pictures of the real Bonnie and Clyde. I remember watching the old 1967 movie of Bonnie and Clyde so I thought this video and song was so cool. I want to go back to the 80s
As an 80s kid listening to this song all the time I never envisioned it as a Bonnie & Clyde escapade. We had the best music in the 80s, the best TV shows (on the tube TV with the huge clunky remote that never worked because it was all sticky from me drinking pop & picking the marshmallows out of the lucky charms box during summer vacation) How did we get so old..... YAY GEN-X!!!
@suzi8277 Yes we are not that old but still it’s over 30 years ago Whenever I hear this song it brings to a particular time and moment in my life Sometimes wonder where did all those time go ?lol
I don’t know! I went to bed one night at 22 and woke up the next day at 53 😱 oh well, at least I get to say I experienced it all as it happened and 80’s music will forever be the best!! Cheers
Being in my 50's I got to see the late 70's and then all of the brilliant stuff in the 80's. I think I am safe to say that some of the best music came from the 80's. How many one hit wonder bands were there with excellent songs. I am so glad I got to experience it all. Songs like this are pure magic. There is nothing like this these days.
I'm 62, about five months older than Teri Nunn and, like her, another native Californian, though she's from LA and I'm from a small town in Northern Cal. If not for that, we might have been in the same classes. Cool thought as I listen to this always-great song.
I saw them this week. They were great. Terri especially was having a great time. She walked off the stage and around the pavilion section. She held hands and hugged fans while singing never losing a beat.
My name is Jamie, I would love to go back into a time machine so badly. The 80s were a blast for playing great music. I wish the 1980s were starting all over again.

Got to work this video. Was out in east Palmdale, Ca. The night part of the shoot was freezing! They had a stack of speaker playing the song. Was a pretty cool job.
My grandpa and his brothers were teenagers during the great depression. I remember grandpa telling us they worked really hard chopping cords of wood for enough money to get biscuits and canned prunes. They survived on that for a long time, a year I think. He worked really hard his entire life, was loyal to his crazy wife, never complained about life and by the time he was elderly he had a nice sum of money saved up for his kids and grandkids. Not enough people like him anymore.
Terri Nunn auditioned for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars, and was apparently the runner up to Carrie Fisher. There are videos out there of her audition with Harrison Ford.
MTV was instrumental in the world wide music explosion that happened and exposed us to bands around the world that we may not have heard otherwise. If you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's with all the golden classic movies & music, YOU were blessed.

One of my favorite groups ❤️ at 62 years old i can appreciate great music like this, appreciate great video's that just make the music that much better. Long live the 80's 😊😊😊 Terri nunn was so adorable ❤
I saw Berlin and Talk Talk at the Paramont Theater in Seattle in 1983 or 1984 , it was an extraordinary concert. Both bands were amazing and Terry Nunn was dancing with my buddy in first row .
I've had the pleasure of attending in my hometown of Modesto, CA of Berlin. The first time was exciting, second was troublesome, third was beyond words and fourth was good to see Terri Nunn perform. The third time will be my favorite because I met her in person. She's the most gracious artists that I wish will come back to Modesto, CA to the State Theatre to perform again. She's 1 of the Greatest New Wave Alternative Artists/Bands still around after 30 years plus. Thank you, Terri! Please come back again?
While "Take My Breath Away" was the bigger hit I think this was the superior song and always felt this should've been a Top 10 hit, this song has all the makings of a good Top 10 single, this song was popular in the Spring of 1984.
Was about 3-going on 4; I thought that little "de-le-ling" keyboard harpsichord sound after each post-chorus key solo - was just the coolest thing ever.
Berlin is one of those bands that growing up as a metal head in Texas in the 80s, I couldnt admit that I liked, I'm glad I dont have that problem now... and as a Texan, the Bonnie and Clyde video doesnt hurt.
Man that woman has a set of lungs on her!! People still had talent and could play live at the drop of a hat. No need for electronic tweaking. 80s leftover and proud of it!
What a fun video and era, back when the electronic synthesizer and catchy, futuristic sounds and beats ruled the day. I think musicians today have largely lost their imaginations.
I grew up in the Eighty's , the music was the greatest ever made. Saw a bunch of great bands here in the States and around the world thanks the US Navy.

Best memory ever seeing her in Champaign urbana Illinois with my girl christie singer! I will never forget.
this is a fun video
These guys were one of my 80's fav's.I heard the Metro,on the radio a couple months ago and it was so cool!!
Thanks for the eighties great time Terri Nunn wonderful.
This song is still sexy in 2024❤❤. I'm in my mid 50s, I was a teenager when this song came out.
High production values. It’s like a little movie it’s so good.
One of my favorite groups ❤️ at 62 years old i can appreciate great music like this, appreciate great video's that just make the music that much better.
Long live the 80's 😊😊😊
Terri nunn was so adorable ❤
My fave of theirs, this is a belter. Teri had a great voice!
A humble song . That maybe ... But sung with the guts of a elephant ... 🙏
Man I'm having 80s flashbacks, and its a good thing.👍😎
ANOTHER TIMELESS CLASSIC!! 80"S MUSIC RULES!! the dj
I saw Berlin and Talk Talk at the Paramont Theater in Seattle in 1983 or 1984 , it was an extraordinary concert. Both bands were amazing and Terry Nunn was dancing with my buddy in first row .
I do too. I was in high school in early 80s. Atomic dog, planet rock, the b52s, van Halen, the cars
Hello 👋 Kari. How are you doing? Hope you are fine
Please come back again?
ahhh I love the 80's forever. The videos, the fashion, the music. Most of all, just this decade.
This song should have been Berlin’s first number 1 hit or top 10 hit
Berlin still plays at o c county fair seem their show many times terry nunn can't still belt it out
One of the absolute top 10 songs of the 1980s
2021 and still one of The BEST songs of all time. The music today doesn’t even come close to this or any other music from the 80’s.
That's Right except for that cherry pie song by Warrent that song sucks but the rest of the 80s were great
Rush,
@@michaelorick2065 & Culture Club. It was hard to even type their name!!
Yes! The late '70's & all the 1980's were the best!
@@tedpittsinger9688 I agree
I miss the 80's and early 90's really bad and am not kidding either. Something is very wrong with the world.
Gran clásico, nunca pasarán de moda, gracias por compartir este ejemplar video.
This song goes back to the '80s. I dance to it at my prom in 85. There are no words to the song... But I cannot remember the title.
Saw her live and still drop dead gorgeous at 60!
O grupo Berlin é o homenageado do programa Clube da Nostalgia, da rádio Boa Nova FM (96,3 MHz), em Praia Grande (SP).
Im 52. Know these tunes very well
in 80' I was too young to fully apreciate music but now I'm loving it

Next time, be a Suzuki Violin Method student. You will appreciate it by 4 y. o.
I want that Auburn. It's not a Speedster, but those Auburns were gorgeous cars.
While "Take My Breath Away" was the bigger hit I think this was the superior song and always felt this should've been a Top 10 hit, this song has all the makings of a good Top 10 single, this song was popular in the Spring of 1984.
CLASS OF 89!!!
Class of '94!
1984!!!
She was absolutely beautiful
Was about 3-going on 4; I thought that little "de-le-ling" keyboard harpsichord sound after each post-chorus key solo - was just the coolest thing ever.
Berlin is one of those bands that growing up as a metal head in Texas in the 80s, I couldnt admit that I liked, I'm glad I dont have that problem now... and as a Texan, the Bonnie and Clyde video doesnt hurt.
Seen Berlin @ Cruel World it was awesome!
Easily one of the most unique sounds I have ever heard in a song, and I love music, played in many bands and orchestras since the mid-80's :)
My uncle showed us a vhs of their greatest hits I was head over heels for Terri Nunn and still she aged well
One of my all-time favorite videos - always has been, always will be
A young Terri, and pre Top Gun..I think. Always loved this girl and Berlin and of course the 80, nothing like this today.
Man that woman has a set of lungs on her!!
People still had talent and could play live at the drop of a hat.
No need for electronic tweaking.
80s leftover and proud of it!
cant find the words to say how great this song is
Absolute Masterpiece of the Modern area So called New Wave!! Brings so many Happy feelings!!!
What a fun video and era, back when the electronic synthesizer and catchy, futuristic sounds and beats ruled the day. I think musicians today have largely lost their imaginations.
Such a great band! And Terri Nunn... I have No Moore Words.
Remember when the production value of music videos were like mini-movies?!? I miss having MTV o VH1 on all day.
These videos are way ahead of their time..1989 madonna's "oh father" is a prime example.
I grew up in the Eighty's , the music was the greatest ever made. Saw a bunch of great bands here in the States and around the world thanks the US Navy.
