- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the all new 2012 Audi A8L. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Some of the finest German engineering! This along with the BMW 760LI and the S65 AMG are practically in a league of their own. We could only hope for an American bred supercharged V8 luxury full-size sedan before the end of the age. But with the possible coming demise of the V8 engine, how long will we even have these to enjoy?

Am I the only that thinks the older models look better the new a8l look like they are designed for old people. I love the new technology in them but the car itself looks ulgy That's why if I were to get an Audi I get the RS7 it looks amazing.
Although the current generation, in my eyes, still looks boss, the previous generation looks relatively more badass for the time it served as Audi's flagship.

@Scorch2534 you are absolutely right. and like i said, it's a very luxurious car, but compared to a mercedes or a bmw it doesn't look like it. i'm only talking about the exterior, price-wise and interior-wise it really isn't that much different. it's an amazing car.

The S-class is all about luxury, the 7-series is all about style, the A8 is all about practicality, and the LS460 is all about reliablity. IMO none of these full-size luxury cars are a loss.
Except the audi lol its guranteed to break down every 100 miles
I've driven three of these with 4.8L, 2010, 11 and they blow me away every time. I find them to be MUCH MUCH better than the 750iL and the 550 or even AMG Benz. I want to not like them, but they win every time. I will give STRONG consideration to it when the time comes. I wish it would come NOW. LOL.

There is one thing I don't really like about the 2011 and up Audi A8L. You have to pull the engine to change the timing chains because it is located in the back of the engine. Minor no DVD in the headrest. It is non-turbo likes that a lot likes the gas mileage.

The panic button is to immediately trigger the alarm to draw attention to the vehicle if there is a threat, or it can be used to locate the vehicle if you forgot where you parked.
The interior trunk (boot) release is for anyone who is trapped inside a trunk and can open the trunk for escape. Or if for some reason can be used as an alternate emergency exit in an emergency.
I rode in a late 2011 (so it was probably a 2012) A8. It was in no way bad, felt comfortable. However that wasn't the question. It was if it was better than the S65 / S-class. And it's not, in no way at all. You are trying to compare ketchup with caviar when you put the A8 vs. S-Class. They just are in different leagues. The S-class has a FULL air suspension which means it's soft but removes all body-roll. Audi has some weird shit because Mercedes has patents on air suspension.

More comfortable? You've got to be joking. The A8 doesn't even have the fucking bells and whistles in the air suspension, I mean it's hardly air suspension. It's this strange part spring, part air thing that Audi has going on that has got so much criticism that it hurts. Also beating the S65, with its humongous V12 engine? You bet ya.
I'm not sure what exactly you are trying to say. All cars are good in each their aspect, although the character of the Audi's are weird.
Mercedes has always been known as the comfortable cruiser that also has a lot of power and amazing quality. BMW has been known for the more sporty but still luxurious cruiser. Audi is known for rallying and LED lights.
Exterior styling is very boring. Not a bad car though

my dad bought this almost two years ago in the wildfire red color and let's just say even tho the battery has issues in the cold weather its a great car.

And how is a Mercedes in the past? The S-Class model has always been known as the car 10 years into the future, for example. No other cars have done this than the Citroën DS.
It's a nice car but the price for Audi's are really high. Like I'd rather settle for a Jaguar Xf than this car and use the rest on a sport car or save it up.
@consequence89 You cannot compare Audi with Mercedes-Benz, you can compare it with BMW. Im not even sure if you know the prices of Mercedes-Benz here in EU.
Climate controls are complicated to operate but just one of many toys to play with inside. Audi Exclusive offers several interior color & trim options that are mind boggling,so ignore the coal bin interior. The 2013 model A8 4.0T now has rectangular rear exhausts instead of round ones & surround view camera with a new multi-spoke wheel design. Beware of the options,which are rather pricey.
first of all i would like to point out that we were not comparing any specific mercedes. i would next like to point out that i like mercdes and audi. but in my opinion audi's styling is way out in front. finally, the technology invoved in all german cars is 10 years ahead not just in mercedes but that is all mercedes is ahead of its time with, technology certainly not styling on the interior much less the exterior.

The BMW 7-Series isn't ANY better. Like I said in a comment below, it completely fails at being what it's supposed to be, therefore it's not good. It's clearly a fact. The fugly 'shark nose' as they call it and fugly headlamps ruin the car. The only thing that's good about it is the way it drives. It's true like it or not. You're obviously a BMW fanboy and BMW fanboys never change their minds. To you BMW's are the best things in your life, they're better than sex, money and fame. That's how hard-headed you are. But you don't realise that. The fact is, we are comparing LUXURY SEDANS here, NOT small sedans. Come back when you realise that.
The BMW 7-Series can't be compared to the S-Class and A8 simply because it fails at being what it's supposed to be. It's just a bigger, uglier 5-Series. When you think about a luxury sedan you think about quality, comfort and good looks. You don't get that with the 7-Series. The problem is that the 7-Series is too focussed at being a drivers' car rather than being a true luxury sedan unlike its rivals, therefore it's nowhere near as good as its rivals.
It is a fact. I used to love BMW's when they actually looked good. They completely ruined their own cars thanks to their design. At least they still have good engines and drive well. You say all Audis look the same and very boring, that was last year dude. If you can't spot the difference between Audi models now then you are blind. Or you're a troll who keeps using old jokes. The S-Class still looks great. I see why Mercedes didn't change the design. You're a typical BMW fanboy. Anyone can tell.
@weaponexpert1 My 3.8 V6 get 17 city 27 Highway which is average. This car weights a whole lot more than my 2 door coupe and still gets better fuel economy out of a 4.2 Liter V8 (18 city/28 Highway). This is VERY IMPRESSIVE. What's also impressive is that your dumb enough to not understand that this is very good for an extended wheelbase fully loaded all wheel drive luxury sedan with a 372 hp V8.
Those are not luxury cars, they are exotics / sports / super cars. They are preferred with manual or trip-tronic. Luxury cars are not.
It's only better because you own it. A personal opinion is fine but don't state an Audi as a better car than BMW or Mercedes as a fact.
Audi is the best its faster then a bmw and has more style then a benz. A lot of people dont know the audi owns lamborgini so its no suprise that this car is the perfect business car. And I dont know why people say this car look boring thats like saying if someone was to offer you a brand new one you would say no?

And the biggest reason is because fixing an Audi vs. a corolla is not comparable. For the lifetime of the corolla you can spend about figuratively 5 grand total. An Audi? 10 grand plus. And that being optimistic and assuming that you don't have any major electronic or mechanical failures. Else, you could spend a brand new camry's worth just for repairs.
I've owned several Audi's over the past 20 years and presently own an '04 Audi A8L that has most of the features of the newest model and some features that are no long available - such as memory on both front seats for 4 positions not just 2. Audi is great German technology but very pricy. A 2012 A8L loaded up will cost around $100,000.
@Hardkov Have you driven both of them? There's no way of telling which one is better by watching videos kid. The S-Class is only slightly ahead of the A8. When Audi launch their next A8 it will be better than the S-Class by far but for now the S-Class is still better even though Audi has closed the gap. That's all coming from an A8 owner.
Lovely car, but.... Classic Audi: A Bose sound system is standard, but a 19 speaker B & O is available as a no doubt very expensive option. Come on Audi... it's your flagship sedan. It probably costs over 100K US dollars... don't rinse people on the sound system. (And yes I know all the German premium brands do this, but Audi may be the worst.)
Hey guys. Just curious, those manufacturers always try to conjunct the car's entertainment system with a bunch of other features and controls. If I wanted to put a 2000 watt aftermarket audio system in it, including a new head unit, how would I replace the old one without rendering half of the car's features non-working?
Why would you want something else other than an Audi after seeing this? Holy crap I'm impressed by their achievement.
