- This animatic took way longer than I care to admit ughh I've been so busy T_T;;
I know a ton of people have already made their own animatics for this song, but as soon as this dropped, I KNEW I HAD to make my own too!
I hope you enjoy!
Since there's multiple Elizas, I thought I'd interpret it as a recurring nightmare that Alexander has during the time when Eliza leaves him to stay with her parents and children. (According to Wikipedia, she did this before slowly reconciling with Alexander again.)
ANYWAYS, part of me wishes I could have spent more time on it BUT I have a lot of other things I'd like to work on, so this is all I can muster for now.

The fact that Eliza knew there was something going on between Angelica and Hamilton, but decided to continue to look up to her sister says a lot. That's because Angelica and Hamilton's relationship never went as far as an affair and Eliza blames Hamilton for his attraction to her, " I see the way you look at my sister." She villainizes Hamilton as a lustful man and praises her sister for never falling him ( unknown to her that Angelica had fallen for him). I just thought that was something worth pointing out

I don’t see anyone talking about how incredibly genius this was. Maybe I’m not scrolling enough but, I watch this way more than I should.
The way she incorporated the four different phases Eliza went through during this time was just so amazing. Her cute lovesick phase. Her wedding phase. The Burning phase. And finally the phase she went through after the death of her son. Each version got progressively more upset and hurt. I think that is genuinely shown at the end of the video when all four are screaming ‘Mine’. Cute Eliza said it kinda of softly but with an edge. Burning Eliza got more intense and loud. Wedding Eliza backed back down and was soft spoken as she would have probably been most hurt in that state because duh, wedding. And finally, our poor Eliza after all of this. She screamed it the loudest. Pent up anger and sadness bursting out of her like hot magma. It just hits in a different way. I don’t know. I just didn’t see any comments about that.

i also love how this was timed with the change of voices, as first burn had multiple singers for eliza, each with a slightly different sound. it gives more character to each of the elizas we see in this video and that basically sold it for me. it was amazing

I thought about that and it’s an interesting thought
I think of it like this.
"Burn" is Eliza alone. Alex comes in right before she sings "I'm erasing myself from the narrative."
"First Burn" is Eliza singing to Alexander. Alex comes in when the song begins and sees Eliza burning letters. Instead of her on the ground weeping like in "Burn".
First Burn is yelling at Alexander
Burn is better as a private moment of anger and Eliza getting a moment to be by herself
First burn, I personally think is better, I just think we finally get a moment where Eliza is utterly angry she lost all her patience and all the problems in her marriage finally exploded, she's expressing pent up anger she hid under a fake smile

The grip this musical's songs have on my is insane.
I’ve watched a lot of first burn animatics but I always come back to this one. Having Eliza from each point of the story paired with the different vocals really ties the concept in the best. Each voice was emotional in a different way and you can really feel it now. It always gives more weight to how it affect her and their entire relationship. Wonderful work ❤️
