You know what made me cry the most in the whole musical?
The fact that Eliza, after all Alexander did to her, honored him, so passionately, she established an orphanage...her husband was an orphan.
Why must you hurt me this way?
Goddamn it.
You owe me some tissues.
"He was a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a Scotsman-"
OMIGOD, YOU MADE ME CRY IN FRONT OF MY CRUSH! IM IN THE ANIME CLUB RIGHT NOW, WATCHING TALKING TO MY CRUSH AS WE SCROLL THROUGH OUR PHONES, AND YOU MADE ME FRIGGING CRY!
You... You brought a tear upon my eye.
Introducing Eliza Hamilton: being the only character in Hamilton who doesn’t rap throughout the musical because she outlives everyone she knows and doesn’t need to rush to tell her story.
King george also didn't rap. But yep. I agree with what you said.
i mean burr lived long too! died when he was 80
I mean i gotta give it to her she did beat box (idrk but somebody in the comments said that she rapped in take a break but i doubt that-)
Oh my Gawd 🥺
Peggy didn't rap, king George didn't, Mariah, etc
FUN FACT: Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton died at the age of 97 on November 9, 1854 meaning that she lived long enough to see the Continental United States be finished.
Five years later, February 14 1859 Oregon became a state. Shout out from Klamath Falls😊
Dam that must've felt so good to see all the work that was put into the country (not to mention that her husband helped create) play out
She lived through TWO wars with Britain. The revolutionary war and the war of 1812
indeed she did... she also lived just long enough to most likely hear of the bloodshed in Kansas-Nebraska... its quite a miracle she didn't have to witness the nation she loved tear itself apart in 61'
And then in 1889, Washington state was bought.
I remember reading a theory about how Eliza’s gasp at the end wasn’t her final breath or something, but it was her reaction to being shown the audience watching the play based off of all her effort. Showing her that her efforts meant something, that all her hard work paid off.
It's actually canon, Lin said that it was either her seeing the audience or Hamilton itself
I thought she had a heart attack
Lin makes a point of leading her to the edge of the stage and showing her the audience. She looks out, sees them, and gasps.
I never once thought it was about her dying.
what gasp??
@itsfunneh fan 12 Oh, no! They mean in the end of the musical ^^

@Joanah Paulin Palomo oof
Eliza is so selfless, she choose to tell everyone else’s story instead of telling her own. All she wants is people to remember the people she loves and the things she wanted the world to do. She didn’t care if they remembered her, she just wanted Alexander to be remembered.
That just makes what Lin did with this musical mean so much more because now her story has been told to millions of people
I Eliza could, shed save the world.
I just got done crying and you just had to make me cry again with this comment
Why’d I think you said “selfish” I got mad but decided to keep reading I’m happy I did she really was selfless
The first shall be last, and last shall be first
And what's beautiful is that while she tells everyone else's stories, her own gets told without her realizing it
As an (adopted) orphan, I could not have more respect for Eliza Hamilton. Not only did she save so many lives but did it as a woman in the 1800s. And she lived to be 95 which was an amazing age to live to back then and still is now! Mad respect to Lin for looking into her backstory and mad props to Phillipa Soo for playing this character do well.

I think she lived to 97, but I totally agree! I never realized how Important this was to others! Congratulations for getting adopted!

I mean due to the era she was somewhat obligated to forgive him or be on the streets lol
@@mykaruest3620 not necessarily true, divorce wasn’t common in the 18th century, but it wasn’t unheard of. Especially outside New England. Philip Schuyler was wealthy and head of one of the most influential families in NY, his daughter wouldn’t be on the streets, he could probably have pulled string to get the marriage annulled if Eliza didn’t give up on Hamilton.

*AND P E G G Y*
Honestly Hamilton was one of the founding fathers that schools taught the least about. I heard his name once and didn’t even know he was a founding father until I listened to Hamilton like 40 times. Mad respects to Lin for telling Alexander’s and Eliza’s story. Somebody had to do it and Lin chose to do it in the most stylish way imaginable.
Agreed I hear about the rest never Alexander tho when he was such a big part in the revolution
thankfully my school covers him more than any founding father asides washington! I have a national history day project and I did it on hamiltons bank and financial system. My closing statement on my topic is, "With this project we strive to tell a story his wife Elizabeth Hamilton wanted to tell, the story of Hamilton."
We’re learning about it right now and I got to tell a bunch of random facts about him yesterday lol
i swear hamilton the musical taught me more about american history (at least for the time period of the revolutionary war) than any US history class ever did
u heard about Richard Henry Lee? George Mason? Robert Moriss? Peyton Randolph? Roger Sherman? Andrew Adams? Jacob Broom? Pierce Butler? i could keep going on but a majority of founding fathers are never taught about, apart from George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and maybe John Hancock. For my school, even in elementary school, I was taught of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton was one of the only founding fathers I knew before Hamilton and up until recently did I find out that there were 55 founding fathers, with seven being Key Founding Fathers; and of the Key Founding Fathers, Hamilton was defintely taught less than the others, except maybe John Jay but I wouldn't say he was one of the founding fathers that schools taught the least about, he's at most top 10 most taught founding fathers out of 55. Plus, Alexander Hamilton was one of the most taught founding fathers in my AP US class alongside George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and John Adams. Hamilton was even mentioned more than people like James Madison, John Adams, and especially Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin was only mentioned a few times with people such as John Jay and Samuel Adams being brought up more.
I'll argue that Alexander Hamilton is arguable the 2nd most important founding father behind George Washington, so it is important to teach more about him.
A really interesting founding father for me who is never talked about is defintely Gouverneur Morris, go check him out, he's pretty cool.
p.s. Jefferson sucked :/
Fun Fact: when she showed everyone that dies as ghosts, she is staying true to the time period since back then, many believed in ghosts.
People still believe in ghosts and there are those out there who have encountered them.

The orphanage part made me cry.
Like really, not that screaming, crying, throwing up shit.

Eliza is kinda the true hero of Hamilton’s story in the end. Eliza could of just told the world that Alexander was a terrible person (not saying he is)or she could have just not told the world his story and stayed quiet, but she chose to tell the world his story and at that told the world he was great. Also in the process told the world the story of some of his friends. Hamilton could never have reached his success in the way that he did without her IMO (many historians agree). I love how in the show she goes from asking to be a part of the narrative to taking agency to remove herself from it. In the end she didn’t just put herself back into the narrative of the story. She became basically the author of it. That's my interpretation of the gasp at the end. She asks will all her work be enough, for the world to tell Hamilton's story and then she sees the audience.

Fun Fact:
At the end of this song (and therefore the end of the show), Eliza is led to the front of the stage by Hamilton, she looks up and she audibly gasps before the lights go out and the show ends.
Although many people believe this simply represents her taking her last breath before her death, or an expression of joy at finally being reunited with Alexander, there is an amazing fan theory that it's not Hamilton leading her to the front of the stage, but Lin-Manuel Miranda (or whoever is playing Hamilton in whatever performance you see), and the gasp is an expression of awe at the sight of the audience.
The theory is that Eliza is being shown that all her work was worth it. That the cast are telling her "you did it. You told his story. And now thanks to you, we can tell both his story, and your's."

Incredible animatic! I always think Eliza suffered the most. First, she found her soulmate,(Hamilton), but the was worried sick that her sister, (Angelica), had feelings for him, and that she may take him away from her, or he’d fall in love with her. Then, she married the one she loved,(Hamilton), only to see him go off to war. She wrote to his commander, (Ya boi George Washington), and begged him to send him home. When he finally did, she told him that she was pregnant,(with Phillip). He stayed, but then went back to the war. She was so happy and relived that George had sent him home, but then worried sick when he went back to the war. He survived, came home, and Phillip was born.
Then, she discovered that Hamilton was cheating on her, which broke her heart. And the, Phillip died in a duel. And then Hamilton died in a duel. AND SOMEHOW SHE HAS THE GRIT AND DETERMINATION TO KERP GOING??!! She establishes the first Private Orphanage of New York City, Angelica dies, then finally, she passes away.
She also had to raise 9 children, one of whom sadly had a mental breakdown after the death of Philip. She was a badass.
>Hamilton fucking dies
Eliza- " I'm reintroducing myself to the narrative"
Honestly Eliza is probably the strongest person of all in this musical. She went through so much throughout her life including her husband cheating on her, her husband dying, her sisters dying, her son dying, and telling everyone else’s stories but her own. She truly is very trusting and kind as Angelica kept saying.
She could have stayed bitter her whole life, but she forgave him for cheating and for all the trouble and the tears and lots of people she loved died, but she still pushed through and told his story, sorted through his endless papers and built an orphanage. What a hero.
I agree. She is my favorite character for her pure selflessness and wanting to help others. It touches me that even after all she went through, she managed to put everyone above herself.

Edit: Wow it’s been 8 months… Technoblade… your story continues to be told!! You have contoured the heavens ❤❤😭😭 🕊️
This is absolutely beautiful but why did you have to make me cry again?
IM ALR SOBBING STOOOOOOOP😭😭🕊
FUCK YOU MAKING ME CRY/pos
god i sure do miss Techno
the fact his name was alexander makes it hurt more :(
I can’t anymore dude.
Fun fact: One of Alexander’s grandchildren was named Laurens Hamilton
😳
Solrocks Animates and the child that had him his name was john
Solrocks Animates his son found out from the letters (im pretty sure the son was names John) and he was like "what a great idea! Im gonna name my son Laurens because my dad was gay for this dude John Laurens"
Solrocks Animates *cough* Lams is OtP *cough*
@@thehamburglar401 I'm pretty sure that one was named after John Church, Angelica's husband.
Been thinking about it... Eliza was a saint. She raised not only her kids but hundreds more, forgave her husband and was just an overall amazing human being.
Petition to make this a religion....T-T
She's the loyalist women you'll ever meet

HELL YES
@@no-tq8iv WE SHALL ALL WORSHIP ELIZA!
This had no right making me cry. I came for that one specific part and vibes, but I left in tears and a bittersweet heart AAA. But seriously though, the tears came so easily with this video. It is just so beautiful, and I love how you set the tone and draw their expressions. It is just so free!
I feel b you deeply on this one 😊
This song is the perfect wrap up for this musical. Even with all the inaccuracies and other stories that were told about all the other characters. Im just glad that LMM was also able to tell their stories and make it big all around the world.
i realize why eliza was driven to establish an orphanage bc alexander was an orphan 😭 and she didn’t want kids to go through what he did (that’s right i thought of this after a month of having my comment up!)
wow thx for 1k
I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT OW MY HEART
DON'T REMIND ME IM ALREADY BAWLING
Holy frik
IM ALREADY CRYINGGGGGGGG
I DIDNT KNOW THAT OH MY GAWD-
Sad fact: Eliza actually arrives at the hospital after Phillip got shot in a black dress because she just came back from Peggy’s funeral because they died so close together🥺🤧😭
Poor Peggy, dying in the same year as Phillip. I wish that had been mentioned in the play, Peggy deserved better
@@yee-raplantar-maximoff4318 so true, Peggy needs more love. Little known fact, she stalled an intruder while taking care of children which gave her father time to get the police over. so yeah, she's also a hero
I did not know that oh my god
@@Yodagirl10 ik... i love how we're expressing such regret over someone who died over 200 years ago
alexander cheated on her, her mom died, peggy died, philip died, she forgave alexander, alexander died, her dad died all in 3-4 years
alexander and elizas dad died 4 *months* apart
I can't stop crying, this animation is much better than the final scene of the musical
every single time without fail i cry so hard to this song. Everyones faces are so expressive, its truly a work of art.
Fun fact: Eliza and Alexander actually reconciled well before Phillip died. She was heavily pregnant with their last child when he died, so they named the baby boy Phillip Jr. after the brother he never got to meet.
Wow thats so sad
Not me crying
WHY?! 😭😭
Actually it’s Phillip the third, because there kid Phillip was named after Eliza’s Father: Phillip Schuyler, so when they had there first kid they named him after Eliza dad
**ugly sobbing intensifies**
I legit almost cried
the orphanage got me
Phillip got me
Laurens got me
Eliza got me
Angelica got me
Peggy got me
Everyone got me
Starz Universe lol me too
😂
Why peggy
shoot I’m dyin over here like 12 tissues in and then THE ORPHANAGE
-get- -got-
PEGGY GOT ME TOO
"The orphanage ~" well there's the gut-punch. Time to start loving people again instead of being angry at them for what they said or did to me. Just because I was abandoned doesn't mean I have to keep people away. ... Easier said than done at this point, but...
I've seen the show on Disney+, listen to this music all the time, but only with this animatic have I gotten teary-eyed.
I did too. It's like the animations add more meaning or something
It’s sad that Eliza is just seen as “Alexander Hamilton’s wife”. She has done so much and yet she gets nothing. When she said “Have I done enough” it was only for Alexander, she wanted his story to be heard, he helped build the Washington monument, and went against slavery. This women has my respect.
She has also gone through so much pain, she lost her siblings (most of them died during birth), most of her children, and parents. Only three of her kids outlived her.
Blve Lemxonade you know what makes me happy? Before the musical on google she was labeled alexander Hamilton’s wife, but know she’s labeled soliciate, it’s not much but maybe in a few years she’ll be labeled a founding mother
ミンティちゃん that would be badass
If heaven does exist, I would love to meet her.
Maxie same, but i am obviously going to hell :^)
@@blvelemxonade9793 you don't know that
Eliza doesn't rap the entire musical, why?
she takes her time.
Similarly,, Burr waits for it
she might not have rapped, but she did beatbox
Eva Russell that is true
@@pipstix5487 I saw a comment on another video about this its said some thing about how Angelica match his rapping and his intensity but Eliza beatbox while he rapped almost as if she was supporting him I dont really remember the full comment but it went something like that
@@pipstix5487 i never realized, in which song did she beatbox??
the amount of times i’ve rewatched this is immaculate
It made me cry so hard realizing Eliza never had time to tell her own story but she told everyone else’s stories
Eliza died blind and deaf and suffered from amnesia. Yet she told everyone’s stories. Eliza is an amazing woman
Thanks for the likes y’all
milkandhoney I didn’t know that, she is a amazing woman
Truly selfless
I read that in the Hamilton book. (First chapter) I think I'm too invested in Hamilton. I just ordered 3 shirts with Hamilton references...
Woah, I didn't know that! She is an incredibly strong woman. Really the best of wives and best of women.
milkandhoney really
Eliza is the true hero in Hamilton because if it wasn’t for her nobody would remember
Read it from somewhere
Eliza is a Hamilton and maybe that is why the title of the musical and not Alexander hamilton.
@@NaOHFlakes I like that
I can't tell you why but I cried so hard 😭
Like come on the ghost, Eliza doing so much for everyone, and then her reuniting with everyone at the end🥲
there is nothing that kills me more than this song. alexander put eliza through hell yet all of that was forgotten the second they died. not just between them, but everyone, all the feuds, the wars and hatred. its the feeling of knowing that they put it all behind them. the second eliza saw alexander, not a single thought of the pain she went through circled her mind, just the fact that she loved and missed him.
not even just that, the fact she died alone, and even when she died, she still didn't know that alexanders story would be told to this day, not just his, but everyones. she nor will anyone know how much we know and remember, the fact that her orphange is still running to this day also. eliza is the most incredible and kindest woman ever.
