@@thatskyteamflyer hi! I travelled to Portugal in August and it was an awesome trip. Life is pretty normal there. Or was...in August at least. Other than masks in stores and on transit.
Spent a day in Portugal as a stopover with a group of friends. We landed quite late, booked into a hotel then went out to find something to eat. A young policeman directed us to a lovely restaurant and nightclub. He later turned up at the nightclub to party with us. A great time was had by all.
OMG your Portuguese is improving so much! Well done, guys! But you left out two major neighborhoods - (São Domingos de) Benfica and Alvalade. Both have the two major football stadiums of Lisbon and I daresay of Portugal. Both have many public and private schools. They are mostly family oriented, but because of the stadiums, you also have a bit of tourism. Both have excellent public transportation (metro, and buses to travel within the city and to go outside Lisbon and also direct routes to the airport). Both have very good private and public hospitals and a vibrant city life with plenty of amenities (cinemas/shopping centres, my favorite pastry café "Padaria Portuguesa" ;P and plenty more). The housing prices I don't think are that high as in the neighborhoods you mentioned. Also, in Campo de Ourique, despite being one of my favourite neighborhoods in Lisbon, it's a pain to find a parking space. :( That's the only downside to it. Oh, and btw, in Lapa is where Madonna was living when she was here ;) Hope this is helpful information! Wishing you all the best! I'd love to meet you in person! :D
I can't believe that I just realized that we never thanked you for this video. I think we even ran into you at an Expats Everywhere meetup in Jardim da Estrela last year. We chose to move to Arroios in 2021 based on this video alone and you nailed the highlights. Technically we are on the side of the street that is in Penha de Franca on Heróis de Quionga. We walked around 800 miles last year in Lisbon alone and each time we return to our neighborhood we know we will not leave. Watching the video now I see you showed Mustarda in Jardim Constantino which has an amazing burger and fries. Muito Obrigado!!
Awesome! Stay safe and see Portugal through our eyes . . . for now! Looking forward to things returning to normal, with everyone safe and healthy - then everyone can visit here, too!

I love watching your informative videos and hope to meet you guys in person one day :) It would be good if you mentioned crime rates and safety in each neighborhood.
Great content and a good insight into some of Lisbon’s neighborhoods. Now I have to get on google earth and see how they are laid out geographically in relation to the city. Looking forward to visiting for a pre retirement assessment once the world starts to return to some degree of normalcy. I’m a huge fan of your videos and hope to meet you both in person one day.
Thanks Nick! Google earth is a great idea - it will give you a good layout of the neighborhoods! We're hoping everything will return to normal soon - with every safe and healthy. Stay safe!!!
As a local, I wouldnt personally chose any of these but only seals the good work you both have done because it is not directed to me but for a different audience, with the advantage of not placing additional price pressure to most of us. As P. Real, C. Ourique and Lapa neighbour hills, I would swap the latter for something different just for additional choice. Great job.
Well done! Portugal has never come to mind as it relates to relocating from the states. Not sure if I'm interested in living there, but I will certainly consider visiting. Retired early myself and my wife retired in 2014. So congrat's to you both and thanks for opening my eye's to another vacation spot.
I'm in Lapa now checking out the city. It's very quiet, with older people. There was an open house...they told us $700k USD for 3 bdrm apt. With car garage in ground level and basement bathrooms that can also be used as a business.. still hoping to run into a nice single man 😍😍

Hello Amon & Christina, I sincerely enjoy your content. Coming to Lisbon next week. I remember Amon saying that he had a favorite hotel there. Would you please be so kind as to remind me of the name? Thank you both very much.
my gandmom lived in campo de ourique all her life! I had the pleasure of living there for 3 years and I can honestly say that is one of the best neighborhoods in lisbon! the only downside is the lack of transportation and its a nightmare to park your own car 😫
Another excellent, very informative video from the two of you. It is great to see some of those old neighborhoods through your eyes! In fact, I was born, all those moons ago, in an area of Arroios (pronounced Ahr-Roy-hush, and its full name is São Jorge de Arroios or St. George of Arroios, in English) which you did not include in this video: the Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques (metro Alameda), which is in a very central area of Lisbon, with loads of amenities close by, and with a very large leisurely area in between the two long rows of buildings, with the Technical Institute of Lisbon on one side of the hill, and the Fonte Luminosa or Luminous Fountain, on the opposite side -- well worth the visit! I, too, love those old kiosks in Lisbon -- such good places to sit down and watch the world go by!
My wife and I bought a flat in Lapa last year. It’s on one of the flat streets, and I guess you’ve been there since our nearby Pingo Doce was in your video. The price was in the range you cited, though it does need a bit of work. Hopefully we can return next summer once the pandemic subsidies; we’ll permanently move there in 18 months. We like Campo de Ourique and of course Jardim da Estrela quite a lot. Also Praça das Flores. Perhaps we’ll run into you!

My wife and I are looking to move to Portugal. We planned on visiting this Spring to check it out for the first time, but thanks to the Coronavirus we are stuck in San Diego. Not a bad place to be stuck! Hahaha. We just enrolled in your course, I think it will help us get prepared for what we hope to happen in the next 10-16 months. Looking forward to the course. Keep up the good work. Obrigado!

Visited Granada, Spain last year and thought I had died and went to Heaven. Wanted to live there. Felt safe and the energy was like I have never experienced before. You guys are so inspiring and make me want to make that leap to Spain! Thanks for sharing your journey. Very informative!
Excellent choice, Granada, Spain. This video is about Lisbon, Portugal.
@@jpinto3912 thank you and yes! I agree. I instantly fell in love with the city! Yes, I know it's about Lisbon only stated my experience in Spain (which boarders Portugal) and my desire to live possibly in Europe😁
Flying to Lisbon next weekend per your inspiration!!! How I wish we can just randomly run into you there!! 😍
The exact video I wanted to watch! Great information! Thank u so much🧡

We are moving to Lisbon next year. We went in March to feel it out and fell in love. Thank you for this video. My husband loves Chiado, as do I, but I want to consider less touristy areas so these are great suggestions.
Great info❤️ I hope you update this. Things change especially vibe and housing in 3 years.
Awesome video the lady is so cute with her beautiful laughing eyes .....😍
Please make a second video speaking about 4 others: Restelo (houses instead apartment); Parque Nações (new modern apartment); Telheiras; Benfica.
Can't wait to move! We're just waiting for my husband to turn 55!
Fabulous videos. You all really hit on things folks want to know about Portugal and possibly moving there👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I love watching your informative videos and hope to meet you guys in person one day :) It would be good if you mentioned crime rates and safety in each neighborhood.
Exceptional video. Thank you for this information.
Great job.
What would you choose that is especially close to some beaches?
Well done! Portugal has never come to mind as it relates to relocating from the states. Not sure if I'm interested in living there, but I will certainly consider visiting. Retired early myself and my wife retired in 2014. So congrat's to you both and thanks for opening my eye's to another vacation spot.
Love your video! Planning to visit Lisbon soon. Is there any Covid restrictions now?
Thank you for taking the time to produced these super informative videos
Congratulations on 300K subscribers. Nice even number!
Great narration! Great images! Well done!
I'm in Lapa now checking out the city. It's very quiet, with older people. There was an open house...they told us $700k USD for 3 bdrm apt. With car garage in ground level and basement bathrooms that can also be used as a business.. still hoping to run into a nice single man 😍😍

Hi Guys! Great video, as usual, it's about my favourite place, so I.m happy. Thank you
Thanks Paula! SO happy you liked the video!
@@OurRichJourney I'm looking forward to enjoying your videos while living in Portugal.
About Lapa, its actually part of Estrela, and it's planed to have a metro station by 2023. I'm sure this will bring value to this neighbourhood's RE.
Love, love this video. Thank you!
"We're not just gonna show you these neighborhoods. No, we are too analytical for that."
*Love it.
We keep coming to Lisbon every year and this is super informative!
Great information, as always. Thank you!
Always enjoy your videos. Thx for the great content
Thank you Germell!!!
It's a very good video!! I'm impressed
Thank you very much!
We’re planning on moving to Porto next year, and hoping to keep our rental costs down since we enjoy traveling. Can you do a video on cheap rentals?
my gandmom lived in campo de ourique all her life!
Miguel - yes! Those kiosks are so great! And thanks for adding your insight on Lisbon - loads of amenities and things to see! :)
Great video! Small recommendation, when shooting b-roll go for high frame rate so you can slow it down without being too jumpy!
Superga Cotu shoes may be good for walking on wet cobblestones
These videos are so useful for us moving to Lisbon soon :)
Lisbon is an amazing city!
Love your info! Has your list of neighborhoods in the Lisbon changed since you originally aired this video?
Maaannnnn great video! 🔥😊🙏🏽❤️
Thank you Manuel! ❤️
