Alan. Thank you so much for taking the time to unpack my comment and then enrich the understanding of the two devices further by showing us the outputs on your scope. I am hoping Santa is going to get me an oscilloscope for Christmas as I have an idea for a Pi Pico based oscillator but need to debug my code in the analogue domain. One extra thing.. logic gates give high or low outputs but by voltage dividing the outputs of several gates you could create 2 or more distinct voltage levels. that might produce some really bonkers waveforms.
