I love General Lee version more than diesel fast & furious version for dodge charger...........all about confederate flag at the top............cool!!!!
This is one bad assed vehicle. My dream car is a General Lee. I'm in Japan and finding a '69 Charger is very difficult. I did find one a while back in pristine condition and they wanted 70,000 for it. Insane.
Awesome car! I remember the Dukes of Hazzard. It was one of my favourite tv shows when I was a boy. I always looked forward to the show and the General Lee itself. :)
+ScottieDTV I liked the opening theme song *"Just a Good Ol Boy",* by the late Waylon Jennings. I enjoyed the sound the General Lee's horn made, the Dixie song. I especially liked Bo and Luke's yelling *"Yeee Haaaa!"* That always made me smile. :)
His facts are a little off. They used anywhere between 318-329 General Lees. And they had a little bit of everything engine wise. It wasn’t like they had a few 440s. A lot of their jump Cars had 440s. There were a good number of 383 cars also. Along with 318s.
Nice mopar. Been a fan since day 1, watched it all the time even though my sister hated it haha. My neighbor across the street had a 68 hemi orange 383 & his son that lived with him had a green & black 69 440 car in the early 80's. Great memories riding in them & other hot hot rods on my block growing up. Good Times! Just bought the Autoworld 1/18 version to hold me over till I'm rich..
question did the general lee have chrome molding going across the back pillars like this one ????? it does kinda throw me off seeing black interior in that car
Sweet! There's a Guy here in my town that has the general lee aaand enos's police cruiser, both used in the new movie. Its cool to see it driving around town, same horn too, its awesome. Cool vid. Chuck
In 1985, when I was 18, I was searching for my first car and wanted a 69 Charger. Found one in the local paper for $1500 and when I went to look at it, it was a General Lee with a 383. It was a bench seat and column shift with black interior but no rust so I bought it. Wish I still had it now.
Original General Lee didn't have the chrome strip behind the sail window.. and it had tan interior, other that those little quips,,, Awesome looking Charger.. "ALL HAIL GENERAL LEE" worlds most famous Charger
I think it is smart to get the signatures inside the trunk and not on the outside of the car. The signatures will fade less because of less sunlight exposure. It was a very cool General Lee👍
Sorry the 383 Chevy which is a 350 block with a 400 crank shaft is a small block. the 383 Chrysler is a big block with the same external dimensions as the 440
Eventually they ran out of 69 chargers so they had 68s and 70s brought in to have their parts changed, and sometimes they only painted half the car because that's all the audience would see
Cool...don't mean to be rude...but your what I consider a friend of my channel...one of the good guys...and when you deal with some of the asses I deal with everyday...just didn't want to hear that..lol..we do have a accent..we live in the south..what do you expect...but I was raised in the north so I have a different accent from the ones raised down here,,but understand we think you all have a funny accent..
Can anyone tell me the size of the rim in most important the width of the tire it really fills out the wheel wells makes the car look so much better than the one that they use the TV show I wish they used these tires instead thank you
There is a new model Challenger down my street that looks like the dukes car identical except its a new challenger not a charger but its got detail. The car is down here in Rio Grande City Tx.
I know this question is totally unrelated but have u ever been to or seen meccum auto show I think its called. Its basically heaven on earth for car buffs...I'm pretty sure they go to Tennessee
It's a beauty but I'd remove the chrome strips where the rear roof pillar meets the rear quarter panel, they look so much cleaner and smoother without that and I'd remove the chrome on the well arches. Other than that its gorgeous.
So jealous. That is one sharp car. I have been wanting one for years. Love them good old days.
