    Think the Wolves have too much pride to deal KAT to us. During the Dlo trade they gave us the pick that allowed us to draft JK. There’s no way they’d help us again and take back that pick (JK) and podz for their former franchise player. That would be a crazy finesse

      The Warriors would have been dumb for giving up JK and Podz for KAT. The wolves definitely would have won that trade had it happened. They didn’t even want to give up Podz for Markkanen, why would they give both those dudes up for KAT? That would have just been a dumb move on the Warriors part.

    Last 2022 championship. Otto Porter Jr., 6'8-6'9, was acquired by the Warriors. He may be used as a small ball center or forward because of his versatility. Along with Green, he started games going in the 2022 NBA Finals against Boston. FYI, there isn't a legitimate 7'0 on the 2022 GSW squad. Bjelica, who is listed at 6'10," is the tallest player. Thus, the formula for GSW is finding a 6'8"-6'9" "swingman." I have a lot of appreciation for Larry Nance Jr. Though he's more of a PF because of his size and athleticism, his shooting and defense will aid GSW. Cam Johnson and Kyle Kuzma are two other players that come to mind. It is up to the front office to pick the best candidate for that position.

      @kennethclay2192 Місяць тому +1

      Actually for the talent that is available there is not enough upside to make a trade that will make a difference. Slightly marginal trade isn't worth the downside on the salary cap. Just trading for a better player don't make the team better and definitely not to make a difference. Donte came to the Warriors like most role players who come there. Play good and go somewhere else for a bigger contract. Kat contract isn't worth it cause he don't move the needle to make a huge difference. Plus we got a new team and we in the best shape so far and we can actually make some of our assets more valuable to trade for a worthy addition later. Looney has lost alot of weight and worked on his shot, Kuminga has been working hard in the lab, Payton is healthy, Wiggins father passed so he may be able to concentrate on basketball this season. I think Wiggs is able to get to his all star form if he is able to play the entire season. We have two additional assistant coaches. We should go with what we got and see what we need or don't need after the first ten games or so. So far we don't know what we have and too many ppl look at paper to judge teams rather than actual games played.

  • @jameswarner300
    @jameswarner300 Місяць тому

    Swish it's one small detail your missing in your analogy, rarely do teams make block buster trades in their own conference, do your homework. Kevin Durant left Golden State and went to Brooklyn, he left the Nets and came to Phoenix. Kyrie Irving came from the Nets. Charles Barkley came from the 76ers to the Suns, Dennis Johnson came from the Suns to Boston, Shaquill Oneal went from Orlando to the Lakers, leaving the Lakers and going to Miami, Jason Kidd went from the Mavericks to the Nets, and from the Nets BACK to the Mavericks. Mikal Bridges went from the Suns the Nets, Julius Randall went from the Lakers to the Knicks.Kareem Abdul Jabbar went from Milwaukee to the Lakers, Adrian Dantley went from the Utah Jazz to the Detroit Pistons. Ray Allen went from Seattle to Boston, Kevin Garnett went from Minnesota to Boston. See my point? High quality free agents usually change conferences and aren't traded within the conference because they do not want the play against a player that could possibly beat them down the road. Kristap Porzingus went from the Knicks to Dallas, and from Dallas to Boston. C'mon Swish you should know better, but it's okay, I'm going to keep you on top of your game, we're in this together your my guy. But please educate your audience on inner conference trading, these things rarely happen. Players that stay within the conference is usually through unrestricted free agency, guys like LeBron James and Chris Bosh were free to sign wherever they wanted. Please do not produce anymore videos on players changing teams within the same conference, your misleading the fans because they are ignorant to these facts.

    • @SwishCulture
      @SwishCulture  Місяць тому

      Hi James, KAT didn't ask for a trade. This fact makes the in-conference trade taboo a non-factor. The Timberwolves wanted to get better and couldn't afford to pay him. He was a "problem" for the franchise for those two reasons. This might have made them even more motivated to deal him to the Warriors to handicap the team.
      Now had KAT asked to be out, yes, you would be correct that they wouldn't be interested in dealing him to the Warriors.

    • @jameswarner300
      @jameswarner300 Місяць тому

      @@SwishCulture Your still wrong in your assessment of in conference trading. I just sent you several examples of different players that were traded to the opposite conference. And by the way, that was the short list, but I opted to minimize my point. Now for you to sit here and say Karl Anthony Towns didn't ask for a trade, you insulted me because you insinuated I said that, and I never said that, so your point wasn't taken. Those players I named didn't ask for trades, they merely got moved. Shaq was lowballed is why he signed with the Lakers, Jason Kidd never demanded a trade etc. So you made a mute point by using that analogy and your only misleading your audience. So to sit here and use the term "taboo" is ignorance on your behalf, because this has been an ongoing thing in the NBA for decades, so how dare you use such terminology to define my point? The reasoning you stated for the Timberwolves trading Towns has absolutely nothing to do with my point, because the reasoning doesn't matter.

    Warriors weren't even in the race, why in the world would the Wolves have taken back Wiggins who was the only major contract that the team could have offered.
    I think it's as good deal for both the Knicks and the Wolves. The Knicks desperately needed a center since Mitchell is injured and Hardenstein left in FA, KAT gives them spacing and extra offensive punch from a position they haven't had it before. DDV wasn't happy being shoved back on the bench now that Bridges has been added especially given the season he had. Randle was also not supper happy given the reduced role he had and was likely going to continue to have with more mouths to feed on offense with the new roster.
    The Wolves for their part get off KAT's fat long term deal and acquire DDV a great role player for pretty much any team and someone they may start from time to time. Conley is almost done and they only just draft Dillingham, they need playable quality guards in the meantime. Randle provides another offensive option even if the spacing is shit with Gobert and he's basically and expiring deal. They are going to pay and start Naz Reid who does a lot of what KAT could do without the silly foul trouble and questionable heart.
    DDV was ok but not great for us, at the time he was just yet another guard that was getting cockblocked by Klank from more minutes and a greater role on the team. The league as a whole and fans are better off with him on a team where he can flourish, that was never going to be Golden State.

    • @SwishCulture
      @SwishCulture  Місяць тому

      Considering the current state of the Warriors, Donte would be their starting 2-guard. None of the other 2 guards currently on the team gave what Donte gave to the Knicks last season. The potential is there of course for Podz and an argument can be made that Hield's 3 point threat could prove more useful but Donte is a 2-way player.
      We know how important it is to perform in the playoffs however, even after a terrible performance from Klay (minus one standout performance), they still offered him a contract. DDV was one of those players I thought would've been a great addition, but I do understand why he was let go prior to it happening. Kerr allowed Klay to run the team into the ground and DDV was obviously not happy that Klay came back to star treatment despite playing like crap.
      I think NY benefited more from the trade. they trade a bench player and a non shooter for the league's best shooting big man. The paint was already going to be clogged and we know Bridges can become a scorer. With KAT playing outside, there will be plenty of room in the paint for Brunson and Hart to eat.

I have not tallied last season, but the 4 years before that KAT only played in 59% of all games… and that is through his healthy/strong years. KAT’s body just does not hold up in the NBA. The Wolves won this trade by a landslide just jettisoning KAT! @@michaelsilberg9059 If they told him he was gonna be getting less minutes and a lesser role on the team, I don’t think him saying he wanted out is out of the realm of possibilities. He proved himself last year in both the regular and post season. If the Knicks told him he’s getting a reduced role, that’s disrespectful and slap in Donte’s face and I can see him feeling that way and wanting out. It has nothing to do with the teammates. Why would he want to stay in an organization that disrespected him first and doesn’t truly value what he brings to the team.

    This is nonsense from someone who doesn't understand basketball. KaT is a clown and a coward. TjD shall be a better player than that clown. Warriors Should stop hunting for free agents and develop the core of Tjd, kuminga, Podz. Curry and Kerr need to play with and bring along this young talent instead of only being dependent on vets. We need to look to the future as well not only Curry
