Awesome reactions as usual Ashlena.
Love the Warning, found them around the same time as you did so I have been following your journey down the rabbit hole. It has been life changing. They are now my favourite band ever and I am Australian which has a massive Rock culture.
Off topic. I want to share this video over a cover of Eminem’s Lose Yourself by Kasey Chambers who is an Australian Alternative Country singer. It’s totally reimagined, unexpected, but absolutely brilliant. It blew me away and just have to share it with someone who can put it out there to get the recognition it deserves. You won’t be disappointed.
Thanks for being awesome.

@@ashlenamusic They will be at the Wacken festival in Germany so they are moving up big time. A very popular metal festival.
One tiny badass woman on guitar doing the work of two full grown men!
The thing to know about this is during the concert at Whiskey a go-go it was the last song of the night during the encore and they all were exhausted after 2 hours playing. You can tell that Ale is about to collapse on stage. What a great performance after 2 hours. Great reaction.
I think this is to this day their most impressive demonstration of skill. That song is A LOT, and Metallica has 2 guitars. Here you have Dany doing lead guitar + parts of rhythm while singing lead, Ale doing bass + filling parts of the 2nd guitar, and Pau doing drums + singing lead in a song that is NOT designed for a singing drummer. It shouldn't be this good, and to pull it off live, at the end of their full set... It is insane.
This performance at the Whiskey a go go is my favorite such intensity from Dani and the band. They were on FIRE that night!!🤟🤟🤟
When they launched into this as the encore, our collective jaws hit the floor. How is this possible? After a two hour set, we were all spent (DPA included), yet they had enough in the gas tank to pull off this gem. What an unforgettable show this was!
I should have read the comments before writing mine. Mine was nearly a duplicate of yours. I'm forever grateful I was able to be there!
@@jafquist27 the more the merrier!
Pure envy is dripping from my pores right now. Wish I was there. 🤘😎👍
That was Ale's first Spector 4 string bass, given to her by fan/fellow bassist!

@@mk2pr LOL, my bad! 🤣 Fixed!
The rock world is lucky they stopped doing covers. The covers they have done are as good or better than most of the original songs. They are musically a step above most touring bands and the bands that see them live know this instantly. It must be exciting and depressing for those bands at the same time. Lzzy Hale said that hearing them play made her want to go practice. 🙃 This is the song I wish they would play at Wacken instead of Enter Sandman.
They're musically better than nearly every band that they've opened for.
Ale is on that bass
Happy New Year. Ale was dead tired after the 2 hour set. Atlas Rise was the last song of 22 set and she was barely 14, the show being in January of 2019 and her birthday being in December. Dany was nearly 19 and Paulina nearly 17
Dani did not even look tired. Probably could have played for two more hours. A pure rocker.
When you listen to Metallica and close your eyes, you hear The Warning!
AWESOME!!!! Totally 2024 WILL ROCK FOR THE WARNING!!!!! Great work Ashlena!!
True Don,,the anticipation,,,eeeGADSS
\m/ The Warning 2024!! \m/
It's funny. Metallica is not my favorite band, so the first time I heard this song was from The Warning. After hearing Metallica's version, I was even more impressed with what Dany, Pau, and Ale pulled off. They are musical magicians.
So glad I listened to metallicas first cause it just shows how amazing the warning is
You can’t go wrong with any of The Warning content. I fell in love with “ You’ve Been Warned.” The rest is history. ♥️✌🏻😎
The most amazing thing is Pau singing. The drum part is not easy and she sings with ease (I would see Lars singing at the same time he plays atlas rise 😅)
At the Whisky it was an special encore. The Owner is a big fan of metallica and it was his birthday i think. After a 22 song's concert. You may see Ale's exhaustion
They almost collapsed back stage after
I am so glad to see your genuine excitement and love for The Warning Ashlena…wait it is genuine…right?
Just kidding 😊. I am as stoked as you are about this year for DPA and what they will accomplish. From 2020 to now, they have gone leaps and bounds in these short 3 years, compared to their 10 year journey. They started out as budding phenoms and now are on the verge of becoming a sought after, household name.🤘
that's what Kirk Hammett tweeted about Paulina when he saw a video of her and her sisters playing Metallica's covers: The drummer kicks maximum ass!!!!!!!! 🤣🥰😘
You should react to the acustic concert they had in Canada, Pau sang most of the songs as Dani was sick and Ale couldn't attend as she was actually really sick
23 views of the Metallica version after 60 minutes. 77 views of TW after 40 minutes. The one thing about The Warning is...when they do a cover, they DO A COVER. As closely accurate as possible. They seem to draw energy from a live performance!
TWA never disappoints 🥰
Well their "cover covers" like this are as accurate as possible, yes. But I prefer their "reinterpret as our own" covers like Enter Sandman - just WOW! But excellent, either way! 👍
Is there another hit song they have rewritten? Please, let me know, cause I haven't heard one. I love all their covers, especially when they were a "garage band" just starting out. You could see they were going places, even then.@@billholder1330
@@randymarple9830 I'm not sure there are others yet. Will let you know if I find any?
These sisters are overwhelmingly talented!!
EPIC live performance at Whisky a gogo!
They did a superb job!
Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
The performance of "Atlas Rise" at The Whisky a GoGo, January 24, 2019, stands (so far, possibly forever) as the pinnacle of my concert going life. I will never forget the utter awe that overtook the room, whenever they began this song. It was as if time stood still. Every jaw in the place hit the floor. I forgot to breathe for bit. It was already the best concert I'd ever been to, but this, this, after nearly two hours of The Warning giving their all for us, absolutely blew my mind. Folks have asked me how it was I could fly from CT to CA for a concert. I simply don't understand the question.
I’ve flown to Jamaica for a concert lol
We knew you'd love this Ashlena...by we...The World Wide Warning Army!!! 🤘❤🤘❤

I wish I could upvote this a dozen times. I am so glad you did both versions, and I agree with you that 2024 will belong to The Warning. There are a lot of great new rock bands out there, but there is only one The Warning and they are the Queens of the rock world. ⚡⚡⚡
aww you’re so kind
I don't know if you have heard this yet, but TWA Russia made this video of Metallica and The Warning playing "Atlas Rise" at the same time. It is absolutely amazing to hear both of them playing this at the same time. It is unbelievable how nearly perfect they match up. ua-cam.com/video/BrJPgQFXKBM/v-deo.html @@ashlenamusic
I saw it, incredible!
I've heard this song several times - I still have no idea what's coming next. That first one sounded kind of thin at first after watching the Metallica video, given that they only have one guitar, but that feeling went away pretty quick. Ale's (mini lol) bass sounded old school good, Pau killed it as she always does, and that was a very tall order for Dany to sing and play that song - she did great.
The whiskey show is a must do
Ale was going off on that white bass!
This was a Warning cover that I hadn't really given much attention to, mainly because I didn't know the original. So now having watched both of your reaction vids today I have a much better appreciation for both Metallica's version and The Warning's. Those three ladies are going to take over the rock world and take their thrones as Queens of the Rock Scene! They are just incredible! I too am hoping for another few Canadian shows this year, hopefully one in the Maritimes, although that's a long shot I think. I wouldn't be surprised if they were to tour Australia this year to spread their awesomeness to another corner of the world.
I know a few Aussies that would love that.

HI, great reaction as always, there is a mashup of The Warning and Metalica playing together, seriously can hardly hear the difference!~ It was put together by The Warning Russia Fans and is amazing.

Well, you can definitely hear TW's missing a second guitar and Metallica's missing a second vocalist, but the two versions are a superb match.

Hey Happy 2024 wow, it looks weird, "2024" new year and "WE'RE STILL NOT WORTHY" Not everyone has a badass basement, (warning cave) this one at Whiskey is an encore song.. I think, after playing a 2hr. set they do this??? 🤯🤟🎶☮️
The Warning are rock and roll fire!!
Yeah I got 15th Like! I too suggested you watch this one too!! HNY Ash!! Love and Aloha!
Dani is such a rocker. It's great. You can tell she loves playing this stuff. She probably likes thrash metal more than her sisters. And this song is a workout on guitar! I don't think Pau finds this difficult to play on drums. For Dani on guitar, this is a statement of sorts. "I can shred on this damn thing." Not easy to do...
Thanks, Ashlena. Nice reaction.
Thank you!
Wow, I just watched on Patreon then I come look and it's already here! So I left my couple comments there. I love both versions, I like this song a little better than Enter Sandman, though of course, ES is more iconic.

I like how that other guitar that she used on the Whiskey a go go sounded.
That was her matte black Manson that a fan ended up with as a Kickstarter reward.
@@iNsTaNtpUdDiNhEaD Cool!
Thank you for the back story.
A commentator on another channel said that Atlas Rise was the end of the program after a 22-song set. The girls had to rest backstage for 20 some minutes before their encore. Truely amazing IMHO.
Someone said that they had to rest 30 min after the concert and then went back out to do the meet and greet, not an encore,
Wow!

Ahhhh I’m waiting as I haven’t seen them yet!
They definitely tear it up. Everything they do is turned up to eleven.
Yes Ale was tired it was the last song of a long set.
Great Reaction Ashlena!!!
Ale said in a vlog that she was exhausted, and when she stepped back, her heel got caught in the low hanging back of her outfit she was wearing, and she almost tripped herself. 15:34 I don't know the proper name for that garment... lol

Same to you!
You need to do Dust to Dust at this particular show because there’s a long solo bass intro, that’s like a different song. This particular with dark clothes, not the other Whiskey show.
Oh I need to do the whole show for sure
Happy New Year Ash! You’re talking my language when doing doubles of TW!! They played this song at The Whiskey after a two hr set, they were exhausted!!🥵👏⚡️

ahhh...to wake up to this. Perfect. Thank you Ashlena. I'm smiling ear to ear and the day is just getting started. Thank you to the Ash patron who requested this double shot!
My favorite covers from The Warning are the 2019 one here of Atlas Rise and The Pretender cuz of how well Dany does the job of 2 people along with singing. I can definitely understand why Pau and her would share the vocal duties here, especially in the 2019 performance cuz that was at the end of a headlining set. I'm not a musician but this I think is one of the most technical Metallica songs cuz usually the songwriting from them is somewhat simple compared to other metal bands, which is probably why Metallica is palatable to non-metal heads. Idk what kind of bass that was that Ale was using in the 2017 cover but I know it wasn't a Spector, but yeah she killed it both times!
It's Ale's Fender Mustang short scale Bass. After this bass she moved to the two Specters four stings that she was gifted from Thomas. Her first five string came from Thomas as well.
@@kfh1 At first I thought it was her white Spector Euro 4, till I looked closer. That does appear to be a Fender short scale, though it is not her original Mustang.
@@iNsTaNtpUdDiNhEaD It's the same one she used at the Live @ Dakota Bar show. She also used this Bass at the second TEDx presentation in 2017. XXICB time frame.
The first version is a high school age band joined by their middle school sister. Yes, do the whiskey show. Great choice. The Whiskey show a year later may be an even better choice.
The Whiskey is the best choice!
Its looks like Dani was wearing her lucky gray pants that she wore for the first cave Atlas rise performance in the Whiskey a go go also.
If you like this technical style of songwriting you'll probably like Metallica's album ...And Justice For All, where they took that style of composing to the extreme. It's probably my favourite all around album of theirs. This song feels like a callback to that album, to me.
Lots of amazing music by that band, some of the greatest imo. I knew you'd love The Warning here, but I'm so surprised that you actually love the song.
Ahhh so many albums to choose from
@@ashlenamusic The opening track of ...And Justice For All is called Blackened. If you did a lyric video, followed by the live version from Seattle 89, you won't be able to stop.
Master Of Puppets (1986) was their 3rd (and most highly regarded) album, and Justice was its follow-up in 1988. In between, their supremely loved and respected bass player Cliff Burton was killed in a tourbus rollover in Europe, at 26 years old.
Either of those albums is a guaranteed hit. They truly are a legendary band. 🤘
@@ashlenamusic Blackened lyrics, sorry I can't help myself lol:
Blackened is the end
Winter it will send
Throwing all you see
Into obscurity
Death of Mother Earth
Never a rebirth
Evolution's End
Never will it mend
Never
Fire
To begin whipping dance of the dead
Blackened is the end
To begin whipping dance of the dead
Color our world blackened
Blistering of Earth
Terminate its worth
Deadly nicotine
Kills what might have been
Callous frigid chill
Nothing left to kill
Never seen before
Breathing nevermore
Never
Fire
To begin whipping dance of the dead
Blackened is the end
To begin whipping dance of the dead
Color our world blackened
Blackened
See our mother
Put to death
See our mother die
Smoldering decay
Take your breath away
Millions of our years
In minutes disappears
Darkening in vain
Decadence remains
All is said and done
Never is the sun
Never

So stoked when I seen you were reacting to this Metallica song, especially the one at the Whiskey! You're not the first person to say that this is now their song, great reaction Ashlena, cheers!
Appropriate Vinyl! :D The Warning do actually have a bit of a connection here. Track 8 - I'm Just Ken has Slash, Wolfgang Van Halen and Josh Freese playing on it. Josh replaced Taylor Hawkins in Foo Fighters and The Warning have opened for Guns n' Roses, Mammoth WVH and Foo Fighters :D
:) Wooohooo, Ashlena and The Warning :) The Whiskey a Go Go Concert videos are legendary ^^
Both basses Ale plays in these videos were gifted to her by their friend Thomas Illgen, a bass player himself.
The matte black guitar Dany plays at The Whiskey is a Manson guitar, the same guitar company Matt Bellamy is part owner and gifted the mustard yellow Onyx Manson guitar last year.
TW learned Atlas Rise in 4 days in 2017 and hadn't played it again until The Whiskey.
I do like the Cave version because you really get to see them playing up close, especially Ale's finger work on the bass and the Pau Bounce. Also, the no look cymbal hits and the faces Pau makes at herself because the front wall is a mirror wall so she is looking at herself 😂.
this was the closing song at the end of an hour and a half show they were tired and still do a encore like this , amazing
So insane
No words. They are just amazing. And the thing is, all of them give it to the max... they are so... pro is crazy. Love the Warning.
JUST A FAN...💛💙❤️🇨🇴
Even tho many of TWA doesn't like this cover song, there are just as many that does. I am one that 110% loves it. I have said many times too many reactors, that this song, is the one that sold me on them, after hearing Survive that hooked me. These two versions will always have a special place in my heart, as they sent me down this life long Rabbit Hole, and opened up a whole new world for me to love & enjoy with others that feel the same. Dany's solo here is her longest ever played I believe, and is pure Honey to my senses. If TW does get back to Canada, despite you guys trying to kill them every time, I hope your willing to travel if they don't come to your city. They be worth it! 🤘
Lmaoooo we don’t mean to kill them we just have stupid weather 😩

This cover is a testament to the huge abilities and skills of The Warning. It´s going to be a very very interesting 2024, When they outplay anything ever heard before. There is no way to beat this passion, energy and skillfulness. Great reaktion.
Can't wait!
Great reaction as always! I love Dany's sh1t-kicking boots in the basement. When Metallica played the Big O stadium in Montreal two nights in 2023, separated by The Warning also playing Montreal at the TD Studio, I hoped that M would magically appear at TW's show. Alas, it never happened. Let's hope for 2024, now that TW edged out M in the Sirius XM Octane 2023 chart!!
Excited to see what 2024 has in store for The Warning, and us! Just think, a year ago the girls had no idea what 2023 would turn into!! Opening for Muse in Europe, their own European headlining shows, the MTV VMA performance and red carpet for the show, recording new music.....
They play it in a lower key vs Metallica's original... I think. Pau is a monster here and Dany covers two guitars, insane. I like and dislike at the same time Ale's Fender bass from the cave that gives this distortion plunky tone. It is sort of perfect as the same time it shouldn't be. Hard to explain.... and Ale had not even turned 13y old here which I think is a sign of how good she already was at her bass. Maybe she do not play improvised (at least I never heard her playing improvised) but she never miss a note, like never.
From the Whisky show, I have the entire version on my cellphone, I could only shoot like 6 songs as the battery on my phone was to die but I got this one. (It is somewhere on UA-cam as I gave my footage to a person that combined the songs into one video.) Ale was known to do knee bends and knee lifts all the time.... she did like 40 knee bends and as many knee lifts in this song alone, 22nd song for the night, no wonder if she was exhausted afterwards, she had just turned 15 at Whisky session and was playing her Specter bass that has a more round-ish tone vs the Fender.
HAHAH Barbie... my son Keith loves this album too LoL.... it's actually a seriously great album
It really is!!!
I saw them at this show (XXI Century Blood) where they did some covers too, and it was great and then again in 2020 when they did all originals (QOTMS) and I was blown away. You can see my bald head in the crowd.

And they were THAT GOOD five and seven years ago... Of course, they were going to bring it at the Whisky. It's a small place, but an important one, much like the Troubadour is important, because so much of the history of rock happened in those hallowed halls. I agree with you that The Warning's execution was at least as good as Metallica's. I wish the recording were better. The vocals were a bit low in the mix on both of these takes. I'm pretty sure they have learned A LOT about audio since working with producer, David Bendeth. It showed in the 08/29/2022 concert recording at Teatro Metropolitan.
