- Worked hard on editing a live track of David Lee Roth's Goin Crazy on top of a pro-shot originally shown in Toshibas- 1988 David Lee Roth Special (Skyscraper Tour). Toshiba's version used the album track, but with the live track now in place, it sounds and looks AWESOME!! Had to do a bunch of cutting, slowing, merging, to get Dave's live voice track to match the pro-shots. I think I got close!
Hopefully I did it some justice, and hopefully you enjoy. More live shots with original live track coming soon. Stay tuned..
I love DLR but his live vocals seriously shit me. I get it, he's a showman and his shtick is what it is, but he's never even tried to sing well live.
The crazy thing is it's clear by the albums that he's capable of it. I saw him with VH in 2015 and I knew what to expect. I didn't expect a great or even good vocal performance, but at least a little of effort in that department would have been nice...
when skyscraper came out i think dave started to lose his scream. then just slowly stopped being his best
Dave is always distracted or exhausted by his onstage dancing. No one on earth can sing "Hot For Teacher" after sprinting fifty yards under hot spotlights. I wish he would just stand there like Pavarotti and nail his lines.
Singing on an album is nowhere near the same as performing live. You have endless amount of chances to get it perfect. I would of hated paying money for this concert with DLR vocals!
My first concert was his Skyscraper tour. What a waste. I remember him singing just like this the whole time. Gives Vince Neil a good rep with performances like this. Oh well, at least the opener for that show was awesome (Poison)

On that tour in Houston,Bret Michaels trip on stage and his Mike flew out of his hands. Strangely,he was still singing!😂

"The Mojo Dojo" is the most DLR title that someone could possibly come out with!
He says in spanish that he's sorry for singing like that but his voice was not ok
