I love "start from a place of acceptance" that's definitely something I'm working on for myself. ❤

Something that has been pivotal while learning how to make change was deeply understanding that my energy is going to fluctuate, and even if I put in effort to have a consistent energy level (sleep, stay hydrated, eat enough, spend time with people I love, etc.) *I will have low days*
I struggle with a mental illness that is coming with me throughout my lifetime. It's staying. But I get to decide what I believe about myself and I decided that I'm not ashamed of skipping working out one week, because I just spent the weekend with friends. I deserve to recover. I want to go back to the gym, when it feels better.
It has been so damaging hearing people say, "You must do it tired, you must do it depressed, you must do it scared" because I might not and that's only going to make me feel like I've failed.

Absolutely. It’s this God complex so many of us hold. An over-reaching of responsibility. A feeling as though we’re responsible for everything in association with us- our bodies and our life (even extending to attempting to control the actions of others.) We are human. I could have the same exact inputs on week A. as week B. Yet, completely different output because my energy/hormone levels will fluctuate- as they are meant to do!

I don't think you can even comprehend what I mean if I say: I ADORE you. You are like the friend or big sister that I never had (and doesn't even know I exist, lol). But what I mean is: watching your videos really helps me, calms me and motivates me. Just thank you because I needed to watch this, I think. I really beat myself a lot because I don't reach my goals and heavily rely on self-discipline... which I lack. So... meh. Burnout doesn't help btw, haha.

You're the only content creator i know that sees building habits this way: admitting that is difficult, that sometimes you have to kinda trick your brain to do it and that WE HUMAN BEINGS ARE LAZY, finally someone admitting and accepting it 😆😆 and your videos have been SO useful for me in building successfull habits and expecially in living better in process of creating them 😊

100%, your videos are always such a great reset. I also need to say, a personal trainer has been the key to turning around my fitness journey for 2023. It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself.

Thank you so much for this video--it was a very good reminder for me! I've been in a rut of being uncompassionate toward my many false starts. Even though it's the weirdness of summer and inconsistency of a routine, I've noticed myself blaming false starts and failed intentions on my lack of self-discipline, not because they are simply a bump in the journey or a reflection of my rigidity.

Dan Koe ( @DanKoeTalks ) talks about developing an anti-vision for your life and working against it, and I think this is so true and important. If I don't work on my business, I might not retire. If I don't work out, like Michelle said, I'm going to be sore.

So crazy to think that I have a healthy gym habit right now after a million yo-yo diets and types of gym memberships wasted over the past 7 or so years. The difference is I changed from ‘I want to lose weight so I should go to the gym’ to ‘I want to the gym to increase my fitness’. As a result, I haven’t lost weight but my body is changing shape in really positive ways and I’m not even dieting.

Thank you so much Michelle, your videos are always so helpful and inspiring! You've managed to encapsulate so many points that I found myself struggling with.. especially the false starts, not having self-acceptance and thinking that there's something wrong with me for not having 'enough' discipline.
