There's some interesting stuff to check out in this outlet mall, which has been fading for a long time and is in the midst of opening back up after coronavirus.
Plus, a quick look at an abandoned sports centre across the parking lot!

Really enjoyed watching this, I remember when Royal Quays first opened and it was thriving. You'd struggle to get a parking space near the entrance. And when they first installed the clock, my family all went to watch because everyone was talking about it! Shame so many great shops left, was a good shopping trip as a kid.
Thank you! Yeah, I used to visit quite a bit as well. I really think the loss of the Nike outlet has been, and will be, difficult for them to overcome. It's pretty much where I got all my trainers for the first half of my life.
Never liked Royal quays, it used to be good but it’s went down hill massively
Was there the other day. No more popular brands at all. Also that empty House Of Brands is now a fairly large arcade/amusements which seemed quite popular as there were long queues outside.
Interesting! Maybe I’ll try to get back down there and do an update at some point 🙂
I remember when this opened, it was the in place at the time.
i remember going here all the time with my dad. such a nostalgic place for me.
For sure. I don't know whether it remains open during this current lockdown...
@@DeadMallWalking its still open but barely, we went a month or two ago and it was dead, we used to go evey month or so back when Nike and Marks etc were there its a ghost town and genuinely really sad to see, i remember standing watching the clock with my auntie, then goign round to see the rabbits
Hi Alan here just been watching some of your videos I'm really enjoying them a lot of the videos like aces Adventures it goes to show how bad retail is getting and in some places the UK are over mailed
What a cool looking place! I hope it can find a way to thrive!
I see cycling taking off here.🚲
I hear they’ve since opened up some microbreweries here in a hope of drawing people back.
I remember being taken by my family here back in the early 2000s, The difference in people was astronomical, the car park was booming and there was even crowds around when the clock did it’s little show (I also remember being terrified of the thing XD)
I’m a regular shopper at the place now as I just happen to live nearby and while it’s sunk quite a bit I must say it’s quite busy usually, not as much as the old days but even if the place was abandoned I’d feel the nostalgia
I think if it’s to come back in a big way it needs to up its game with brands, Poundland and subway and Costa are nice but Wallsend and North Shields both have atleast one of those things and much more to offer, it needs some more attraction, the fact my family would come all the way here from wallsend’s town’s bubble of neighbourhoods instead of stopping in town or going to the silver link must mean something (because obviously I don’t remember how it was back then XD)
Yeah, I plan to return to film again soon as I think they've made some changes that has improved things, but it's still nothing like "the glory days" if you want to call them that. Thanks for the comment :)
i love this video your commentary made me laugh
Thank you, I'm glad I could bring a smile or two, haha.
coooool
Faded Glory .. 100% correct.
It was never that great even at the best of times .. but now .. just a pointless place
Regards from Whitley Bay
Ghost towns.
Apparently it’s a little busier now than it was, so I’m hoping to revisit when I’m next in that area!
This place is not and will not be like it was but now its turning around and independent brands are popping up there as big brand names are not what most people want now I guess.
Yeah, I keep meaning to do a revisit and check it out again! I know they'd added a brewery and dance school the last time I swung by.
Dalton park is a lot better
Might be worth me filming there at some point for kind of a comparison video...
That place has gone downhill since I last went there... Shame
To be fair, the pandemic obviously isn't helping but it keeps losing shops (M&S, Nike etc.) that it just can't afford to.
