Full AFK Hermod Guide 2023 - Unlock Necromancy Power Armour

- Runescape 3 Hermod the Spirit of War AFK guide. Kill the new necromancy boss while AFK! Hermod is required to build your own set of power armour as he is the only source of hermodic plates.
In this guide I'll go through 3 afk methods -
0:00 intro
1:30 talent tree setup
1:20 gear setup (shared by all setups)
3:10 high-level setup (40-60 kph)
4:40 mid-level setup (40+ kph)
6:25 low-level setup (35+ kph)

Thanks for this, I have t70 power and I can easily mange this afk. I don't have the zuk cape or whatever, so the last ability bar worked nicely for me. Kill times around 1:05 to 1:15.
Prior to trying this I had nine deaths and two kills here one was 9 minutes the other was 7 both used a full inventory of rocktail soup. Less than 2 minutes every time now. Thanks for the help.
I'm not sure I agree that in a "low level setup" you can justify having a Zuk cape and Cinderbanes, but besides that the rest was good. Nice work!
Yeah I agree, like I said in the video the last method doesn't require the zuk cape at all and other gear can be downgraded as necessary- cinderbanes aren't required at all, but they help if you have them
you could add the ghost summon before the fight and use command ghost to most likely almost half kill time. obviously this kills afk but still only two clicks.
Off topic but how did you get your head to have the hairstyle with the flames as well?
This will be really helpful when I go for power armour. Unfortunately I never boss so I chose the tank route. I've never even done a GWS 2 boss before normally. Any chance you can do a necro guide for the godwars 2 bosses? Couldnt find any help out there for that step. Thanks.
I don't have time for a full guide right now, but I can share some tips. Before each kill summon all 3 conjures and activate your ghost special, then attack the boss. You can use one of the bars from this video and it should be okay. The special attack for the necromany weapons is also really good if you want to mix it in. Pray protect against the boss and then eat to stay alive. Use war's retreat between each kill to resupply if needed. I can upload an unlisted video of some scuffed kills if that would help
@@qprsKinda just decided to wing it and its going pretty well actually. not quick by any means by im suprised i havent died. Using the 20% dodge spell helps too, and im attempting (failing sometimes) to use resonance thanks to the bone shield spell as well. Did not think to summon all the ghosts thought. Thanks for the tips!

However, it seems as though Hermod immunes all damage from familiars, including the Blood Reaver. Just thought you might want to know.
If you look closely during a kill you'll see a bunch of tiny hitsplats on the boss. Every time I heal, the blood reaver adds one of those to the boss. They have a 12.5% chance of causing poison damage which adds up fast

Working option 2 but have a curious issue. In the vid options 2/3, Hermod lifts his hand up at the 49 sec mark to start summoning his minions. He's consistently doing that a few seconds later in my kills which throws off the timing of the Blood Siphon ability. Standing same spot and revo bar as option 2. Any thoughts? In the long term will probably full afk when 3rd scythe option is unlocked. Thanks for the guides mate
Pulling Touch of Death to the front of the bar and keeping the rest in order works as a band-aid. Kills are about 10 secs slower each but well worth it for the consistency till I figure this out
That's definitely weird. I believe some people are having timing issues related to necromancy basics being toggled off. Make sure auto trigger basics is on for the rotation
Necro Autos were toggled to be used, good shout to check. Having changed nothing with the setup now Hermod is back to lifting his hand at 49 secs (as shown in the vid) so problem solved... yay?
So I mirrored your setup and, granted I'm like 5 levels lower then you were in the video but even with all that stuff on and, me strictly afking like the video says you should my kill times are around anywhere from 1:15-2m on average. Sometimes the spawns don't sprout up right away if I stand in one spot and, I have decent gear. I've been upgrading the armour to tier 80 my weapons are tier 80s. All perked out and, even got the leech necromancy str curse on that you show and, it's not super fast like you said. My best time is no where close to being under a minute on "Most kills". Not calling you a liar but maybe you can help me trouble shoot what i'm doing wrong. My best crit so far is only 11k too so I'm not sure what's going on but following what your video said and, best I've done is 1:15
It's hard to say exactly what's wrong without seeing your setup, but basically something's missing. If you're doing either of the first two setups you absolutely need the zuk cape. The ring of vigour passive and exact relic setup are also important. You need all the talent tree unlocks, and make sure you're standing on exactly the square I'm on in the video. Salve e and undead slayer are very big dps buffs, so make sure those are on
have the zuk cape am 101 now and, absolutely not specing 30ks as frequent as you did in the video. I can stand there and, afk him sure but it's not popping off and, slapping him like you were doing and, that's with tier 80 gear and, it's all augmented to desirable perks

Any luck on us getting an updated version of this? Things like auto blood siphon at the beginning of the fight is not optimal. Blood siphon should be put on keybind. Same with finger of death and volley of souls.
Yeah this method was before a lot of changes and designed to afk completely without needing to manually cast. If you're high level necromancy pet hunting try the rotation soul sap, conjure undead army, command ghost, touch of death, death skulls, command skeleton, volley of souls, finger of death, bloat
@@qprs does bloat work on hermond? I'm also noticing that if I have my adrenaline costing abilities on rotation (finger of death specifically) I never get up to 60% for death skulls. Though, if I keep finger, and volley on manual (as well as blood ciphon for minions if they do spawn... Usually happens in a group fight)

is salve e best ammy for necromancy? idk how say essence of finality is 56 dmg bonus vs flat 20%
It's best for all undead creatures, eof otherwise
i thought you couldnt wear the next tier of armor untill youve made the full outfit?
You just need to learn how to make it.
@@tomlinsona0704 no wrong. You need to make it but only the armour you actually want to wear. If you don't make t10-t80, you can still make and wear t90.

To get tier X you can buy X-10 and upgrade it to X. Seeing as you crafted it yourself, you can wear it.
Example: you can buy tier 80, upgrade it to t90, and wear that.
You of course need the materials, kili task completed and crafting levels.
Im having trouble keeping prayer full with the high tier setup
Make sure you're using leech necromancy strength and not sorrow. With powder of penance+salves+elven ritual shard it should be okay, but if not you can swap to the penance aura instead (will give slightly reduced damage)
If you use the pvme method but use penance aura+powder your prayer is fine. To compensate for the loss of healing, put scrolls in the reaver at 30s fire rate.
You only need to sip ovl, apply weapon poison and summon a prism every at 20mins and 40mins.
I should note that I use this with full t90s, 115necro and t99 pray. At lower levels it might fail due to less damage.

Don't you lose the power armor set bonus if wearing the cinderbane gloves?
The bonus is per piece so you're good to remove as many as you want. Will be 4% chance of mark instead of 5% with t70 gear

oh wait, the UI still lights up the set bonus parts so it does suggest it works that way

It’s all about afking on mobile while at work
While not afk, you can get faster kills by conjuring other spirits while out of combat and not lose any adrenaline.
tbh..may sound like a jerk here but if you need a guide to afk hermod then i would just not bother trying to get into high level pvm

the luck potion helps alot i have 100 kills and have 28 plates :) (hope it helps you)
