Ashwathama is actually a mythological (actual History of India ) character from Mahabharata. Legends say He is still alive after the Great War Kurukshetra waiting for the Last avatar of Vishnu to awake and destroy the complete life to create a new Age . This character Ashwathama was cursed for immortality by Lord Krishna in Mahabharata . The curse is that he can’t die and his wounds won’t heal .

According to sanathan dharma, there are 4 yugas (time periods). Satya, Thrretha, Dwapara and Kali Yuga.
Ashwattama is the son of Dronacharya who is the teacher of Pandavas and Kauravas. Because of his mistakes, Lord Krishna gives him a curse to live till the end of Kali Yuga which is the end of time.
This is all happened in Dwapara Yuga.
Currently we are in Kali Yuga and Ashwattama is waiting for lord Vishnu's final Avtar KALKI to find a meaning to his life and his curse.

Just to give you guys a context and to make you able to explain to those who says that stone on forehead is copy of Vision from MCU, let me tell you that, this man Ashwatthama is one of the 7 entities that are believed to be Eternal in Hinduism.... And this guy had a discription of his looks like this from thousands of years...
Context: this man has had that stone on is forehead by birth and after the end of Mahabharat war, he was angry because his father Guru Dronacharya was killed by Arjun... So he launched Bhramhastra towards Arjun (known to be the most deadliest weapon) and in response Arjun also launches his brahmastra... But Sage Vyas told both of them to call it back... So Arjun called it back.. but Ashwatthama didn't know how to call it back... So he reduced it's intensity and diverted it to the womb of Arjun's pregnent daughter-in-law so that atleast his generations would not come.... And furious lord Krishna due to this act of Ashwatthama, destroyed the stone from the forehead of Ashwatthama and cursed him to live eternally with this pain... And he lateron also revived the child in the womb of pregnent daughter-in-law of Arjun...
And apart from Ashwatthama's this revengeful act, he is indeed a scholar and knowledgeable... At that time he might not know how to call back brahmastra but after that incident he must've learnt it..🥲
Btw, I don't know the significance of that stone on his forehead... So if anyone knows it please let me know....🙌

krishna asked ashwatthama too to bring back his weapon but he did not knew how to and directed it towards arjun's grandchild which was in womb of arjun's son wife

a doc in MP, India claimed that he saw a 6 foot tall man which resembled ashwatthama and when he asked him jokingly that is he ashwatthama and then went in diff room to take medicine out the man have vanished idk how true is this incident

Alright, in Mahabharat 2 parties were fighting with each other 5 Pandavas (Good guys led by Lord Krishna) Vs 100 Kauravas plus Karan (Bad guys). Total 106 brothers Karan was a good guy but he's on Kauravas side. All of them were trained by Guru Dronacharya (Teacher). Ashwathama is the son of Guru Dronacharya and Ashwathama was on Kauravas side like Karan. During the fight Ashwathama tried to unalive an Unborn child and Lord Krishna got angry and cursed Ashwathama immorality till this world ends.

okay...a little advice and info....this movie is heavily inspired and based on Hindu mythology, the person who knows this mythology pretty much knows the gist of what might happen in the movie......the major character names are the same too.....basically in Hindu mythology there are events that are yet to happen in the future and this film is based on one of them......its not a reenactment that is set in the future, but an event that is yet to happen in the future.....so characters are meant to do what they are meant to do....they are basically gods.....even if they are old the are warriors, gods etc.......and finally my advice, watch the film as if you are watching history film, where the characters and story events are already set in stone.....its not sci-fiction, its sci-mythology.
