this is the model i have, and i also blew out the idiot diode. i learnt to never use a general electric connector on this radio, it is the opposite polarity. otherwise its been a fine radio.
Get the original or Six Star Sales on ebay has them. You can get the Motorola style or regular style. Just search for cb protection diodes and find the ones from Six Star.

This is Harvey Miller in Mississippi I have a cobra 2000 that is getting 1.8 volts back to the antenna Jack do you have any suggestions or Reason why that is happening the radio will transmit on another radio and will receive off of another radio but cannot transmit out and have no incoming receive what do you think the problem is

Should you align the radio for better modulation?
Yes. After repairing the AMC circuit, it's best to align it.

I'm confused as to what you're saying ? Does it transmit and receive ?
