I never knew chopsticks was like this. I'm in love with Liberace. I just now found him. I've been watching him for the past 3 days. Anything I can find. Genius.
Hi Lindsey, Isn't he wonderful ? I myself found Liberace only last June in 2020. Really, I never liked the piano much before, but listening to him has made me change my mind. He is always beaming with joy and on top a very nice man. You can look forward to many more great clips, and please read his autobiography. You can get it on Ebay.
@@cathrinrehder6652 I will definitely read it. He's so amazing and wonderful. I just want to hug him and just be a friend. God rest his sweet soul. Truly a beautiful soul 😍
@@lindseypate4306 Wow, Alabama ... Isn't it great that Liberace has his fans all over the US and the world ? I hope you are doing well in the pandemic ! 🤗🎵
That's because, while he was an excellent showman, by the standards of true concert pianists, he was mediocre at best. You've got to be watching him to be experiencing what made him great.
A rare performance without his candelabra. Also, this piano wasn't a Baldwin. Whenever Lee played on television, he was supposed to have a Baldwin grand. When the venue wasn't able to provide a Baldwin, the name of the piano had to be covered due to Lee's gentleman's agreement with Baldwin.
Hey Biggest ... a couple times a year, MERV would tape a week of shows in Vegas. Lee was appearing in Vegas that week and also dropped by to tape Merv. BTW ... thanks for all the videos you have shared with all of us .... !! Smilin' Jack
I love that Liberace plays this without any studio band accompaniment. It's great to hear just him playing, and to see so many close-ups of his hands as he plays! Thank you for posting this! I had never seen it before.
AMEN to that!!!!, what we have now is total garbage!!!! all we have now is drum machines, auto- tune( for those who can not sing or stay on key), and computers to put it all together.
This is what tickling the ivory really means

For lee was the worlds best player an no one will never come close
Watching him is so entertaining. I have found that listening to him isn't nearly as entertaining as hearing and seeing him at the same time.

Was A Steinway
Solid Gold entertainment - where has it all gone..!
it went to the "DUMPSTER"!!!!!, the recording companies do not want to spend the money in the production of quality music.
When I was a young boy my mother (who played piano) loved Liberace... Now that I'm almost 50 I understand why. He was an amazing talent wasn't he?
True .
I bet your dad did not like him.
Apparently kids in Asia learning to play the piano practice a tune called Knife and Fork.
😂 ... this is great 🍴instead of 🥢 ...
Unusual to see him onstage in a leisure suit, but I like it!
Had classical background but chose to bring his music to the masses to entertain. Definitely did that.
I was there. I worked at Caesar's Palace in the showroom.
You KNOW that's not fake. Chop sticks for Adults.
Thank YOU ... I enjoyed seeing this when it aired 39 years ago, and it's WONDERFUL to see it again !

Thanks for the info
Only Lee could make a virtuoso out of Chopsticks!!
his first name was "WALTER".
@@gregoryclemen1870 Yes, I know. I heard him once say that he preferred Lee.
@@nancyterrywhittemore2015 , he did!!!!
To much of a good thing is wonderful.
that is amazing how he can play with all those rings on his fingers!!!!. I remember him when I was in single digits, now I am 61.
whoever doesn't like this is just plain augh I don't even wanna say it, this is brilliant!

THAT IS THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW LIBERACE IS ON. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. :)
Simply amazing ❤️
It’s interesting to see how much the background orchestra does for him in full performances.
Jealousy gets someone nowhere ...😜
and why would you need to say that here , there is absolutely nothing in the background !!!
My favorite song on tap a jam (gamehouse)
This is great you should upload more because this is great
Thank you for posting another window to the past of my Musical Hero! Liberace forever!!

Lee, Carol Burnet, Merv Griffey, together.
I like Liberace, I love him, but he wasn't the best piano player.
