OUR LAST DAY IN VINNIE!! We are so sad, but it has to be done. Owen and I drove to Christchurch Airport to pick up our rental car, then before dropping our camper van off we gave a quick (and loud) tour of what was our home for the last couple of weeks.
Once we dropped Vinnie off, we drove to our AirBnb in Sumner near Christchurch and were wow'ed by the beautiful views. We had an incredible lunch and finished the night off with relaxing in our tiny home while watching a thunder and lightening storm.
Some days, you just have to relax.

    QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Would you (or could you) ever live in a camper van full time?

When I was 25 or so, I had a 1966 VW Westphalia camper van and loved it! I regret selling it many many years ago. I think I'm into big canvas tents like the Kodiak or Springbar for car luxury camping. www.kodiakcanvas.com/12-x-9-ft-cabin-tent-with-deluxe-awning/ My car gets 40mpg and no van can match that.

MAYBE... because Norfolk Island is near New Caledonia, which is the northern tip of the (now official 8th continent) Zealandia, ...that the Norfolk Pine is a Zealandia Pine?

The bee at 8:47 appears to be a buff-tailed bumblebee Bombs terrestris. Because they are extremely efficient futilizers, bumblebees were introduced to New Zealand over 100 years ago to fertilize crops

I can't feeling that we're getting near the end of your trip and not many more videos to come. You both seemed a little tired and almost getting into going home mood. You will certainly have a lot of memories to take back with you. I for one will miss not clicking on to watch your latest adventure. You've done so much, that I in my youth did here and also a lot that I wouldn't have a bar of. (The Nevis Swing for one,) I must compliment you on the quality/standard of your camera work and the steadiness of the moving shots such as in the car.
You have never been boring and you've shown an affection for the beauty and varieties of scenery in my Country which I share wholeheartedly, even the variable weather every couple of hours or so. Looking forward to seeing the remainder of clips very much.

You love the van? . . . If you haven't seen any of it yet I bet you would get a blast out of the Channel "Hasta Alaska" A one-of-a-kind 5 Years Adventure Travel series, driving a VW Bus from Chile to Alaska on the Pan-American Highway. Five YEARS on the Pan American Highway. I've watched about half of it, I got distracted watching your PCT series :o)

You certainly found some cute accommodation, in all forms. I hope you do get a camper back home sooner rather than later (perhaps even a liveable RV that you can use to travel all over and make some wonderful videos???) before you forget the fun and flexibility you had. You packed so much into an amazing few weeks that it was no wonder you 'crashed' in Christchurch. The dog was just making sure you stayed there and rested. Lovely again, thank you.
