Wth, this is one of the best reviews Ive seen ever… for any product. Love how you emphasize every little detail about the shape and grip. Was thinking about buying a Thorn and this review convinced me. Cheers mate!
I was looking for a detailed shape explanation, especially in regards to the EC2, and you did that in a very understandable manner. Thanks alot for that!
Purchased on the basis of this review as a Vaxee Outset user (which will be hard to beat long term for me personally). One thing I'll add is that its a widespread community misconception that the EC shape was designed for palm grip, the curvature is actually primarily intended to tilt the wrist away from flat as this increases wrist range of motion and reduces compression of nerves and tendons. The human wrist is not evolved to be rotated with the palm flat downwards, your natural wrist resting position has your hand in vertical alignment. Tilt grip mouse designs speak to this and are therefore both more ergonomic and more suitable for any degree of wrist aiming, not just for wrist health but for function too. That the EC allows people with smaller hands to fully place their whole hand and palm on the mouse body is incidental. There is some documentation about this out there, and in Vaxee's introduction video about the Outset they speak about how previously they had designed a tilt grip mouse (i.e the EC). Also old versions of the Zowie site always mentioned wrist aim and wrist range of motion on the EC page, and didn't mention palm grip at all. It's only since the community has come to consider it and related shapes as "palm grip" mice that Zowie has started selling the EC that way. Relaxed tilt grip claw is basically exactly what this family of shapes are made for.
Hello bro, I'm undecided because I bought the lamzu thorn from fnatic, which is my first ego mouse and it makes me very uncomfortable. Do you think I have to get used to it? I'm undecided between that and the logitech g pro superlight x since it makes me more comfortable. but I was very attracted to the tthorn but I feel very uncomfortable and I bought it yesterday
glad to see the emphasis you put on sensor placement. It is one of my biggest pet peeves with mice. Far too many mice have the sensor further aft than it should be.
Great review. I like your explanation and demonstration of the palm and relaxed claw grip styles. I'm looking for an ergo mouse because I'll be using it for long hours (work, everyday computer, and casual gaming). I ended up buying the Thorn for now, and waiting for the Pulsar Xlite V3 (size 2) to become available on Amazon.
Definitely an Xlite V3 angle for more relaxed usage, and appreciate your feedback! Hope you like both the mice and the video was of help, I just reviewed the Xlite V3 as well!
@@its_yifang I do like the sound of a more relaxed usage, because I'm on the computer more than 10 hours a day. I have a relaxed grip style as well. I switch between palm and relaxed claw; definitely not aggressive claw. I just watched your Xlite V3 video and about to leave a comment and questions there.
Does the 2 circle dot skates added give it a slower or faster feeling? I just got mine and by default they're off. Rather not add/remove if someone knows based on experience. Also, I just downloaded the app and it has something called "Peak performance". I don't remember having that option on the lamzu mini or motion sync capabilities to remove it or not. I think I read that motion sync adds input lag. Peak performance is that meant to be similar to what Vaxee promotes on their mouse?
My skates were on by default and more skates will feel less fast. I'm not sure what peak performance is but I assume it should be a competitive firmware and better to keep it on. I also leave motion sync on all my mice, not sure about adding latency this is the first I've heard of it...
@@its_yifang I believe that motion sync only causes latency when there is bad firmware. From memory there was latency with the compex 3395, because of poor implementation. There should be no latency from motion sync with the nordic chips
Probably, all mice with white coating can get that eventually if you don't care for it. However if you take care of it, my superlight has been with me since it initially released and still hasn't discoloured yet!
Overall does it feel bigger than the ec2? My hands are 20 x 10cm and just worried its abit short n buttons would hang in my relaxed claw. X2h medium is my go too n perfect size atm
