These are all great, but I have to say, I'm disappointed she didn't talk about Rock Jobu. That costume was so realistic, I could have sworn the actress was literally an actual rock.

She had a body double for those scenes. A relative of Dwayne Johnson's, I believe.
She's extremely underrated. Granted I've only seen her in this film, but she displayed so much range. Stunt choreo, different characters, languages, etc. I think she has a bright career ahead of her.
her vocals are also incredible! i first found her in Be More Chill and hearing her sing in Everything Everywhere All at Once made me freak out

Honestly the explanation for chaos Jobu gives another reason to love this film
The Daniels have a knack for this sort of thing. Presenting something very silly, like "A bagel with literally _everything_ on it." Which actually has a very serious meaning, like "The temptation of nihilism when confronted with the unfathomable scale of the universe."
Stephanie Hsu was definitely the highlight of this movie IMO.

that scene fucking got me, like i legit thought she was gonna die right then and there, but then she suddenly eats "her blood" and shows the ketchup bottle. all i could do was laugh at the absurdity. her acting is insane.

Best Supporting Actress, every award possible! That close up of hers in the golf outfit when she's explaining to Evelyn why she made the bagel...with the tear flowing down her face...you can just feel the pain she's in.
Right?? Like imagine how DEVASTATING it must be. To have literally ANYTHING and EVERYTHING at your disposal at any moment a yet… you’re so much bigger than anything for any of it to matter.
It actually deeply saddens me that she wasn’t recognized or nominated by the Golden Globes for her work. She is astoundingly good in the film.

Thanks for sharing this! Especially neat to hear how Chaos Jobu's design was a mix of elements from Jobu's other outfits.
I hope Shirley Kurata gets recognized for her costume design once the Oscars announce their nominations. (And maybe recognize the makeup / hair stylist too since they complete each look?) All of Jobu's outfits were on point. And even the contemporary outfits for Evelyn, Waymond, Deidre just seemed so right for their characters.
Also would love to see Hsu recognized with a Best Supporting Actress nom. Her performance as Joy / Jobu is one of the most crucial elements for this film to work and she nails it!

Best Supporting Actress!
I spent the entire movie thinking "this actress is SO familiar".. Then when I was able to google the cast, I realized she is a musical actress! Knew her from Be More Chill and Spongebob the Musical. Her character is so different from the happy go lucky characters I was used to from her previous performances, I couldn't recognize her

Chaos Jobu was incredible. That look was sheer perfection, the height of Jobu's descent into nihilism and absurdity.
She’s so good in Mrs Maisel! If you haven’t seen that show I highly recommend it! Easily one of my favourite characters BECAUSE of her performance!
