The Enthusiasm Project Agree. Since I bought It pixie I stopped using jobby with my Sony a6000. It’s just to bulky and big. Also I use pixie with GoPro 7.
Finally picked myself up a real camera for my own channel thanks to getting a lot of info from your videos. Ended up getting a Lumix G7 for pretty cheap used and I’ve been pretty happy with it this far.
I agree with Osprey bags, I use the Ozone for all my travels and now I'm going to take a look at the one you mentioned. Hopefully I'll see you soon at the Sony Camp!
I like your videos and find them very helpful. I’m currently using the Canon 80D, G7X and Go Pro 5 Black. I’m 71 years old and use a wheel based camera bag because I hate backpacks. I carry a sweet carbon fiber tripod. Like you I have my own equipment frustrations. I must do very simple editing on my iPad but i must wait until I get home to used my Mac Pro desktop for the big stuff. Accordingly I use a reporters notebook to keep my story straight. I also tell the camera first what and why I’m making a shot so I have more than a thumbnail to remind me what is on the clip. I hope my health holds out so I can somehow do this for many years to come. In the meantime I plan on having lots fun as long as I can. Money is an issue as I approach a modest fixed income.
Another great and helpful video. Loved the lights! They not on sale yet in UK so was happy to be able to support you by using your affiliate link for Amazon as they ship them to UK
Nice kit there. I’m trying to decide on my kit for travel soon. Most likely the rx100vii and the a7iii with the soon to be released Samyang 18mm. Not sure I will bring my Crane M2 but the osmo pocket will most likely be in my bag.
Sony on the m2 , peak design strap around your neck , lock it down and you are fully mobile ready to go , stick it in a small rig cage with cold shoe adaptive add the video micro , bingo !
So far my only real issue with the Wireless Go is the wind muffs falling off (though less so as gotten better putting them on). Have the same type of SSD. I have the same little trip pod. I use a Xsories XS as an extension (mostly for the Gopro higher second angel shots).
Liked so much your videos . And agreed with you. That’s the best kit you can ever get Sony RX100 VII , plus the action cam -( in my case GoPro hero7 black , plus my phone and last and more focus into photos my a6400. Cheers 🍻 mate
I brought my a6400, 18-135mm kit lens, Rode VideoMicro & Vidpro Lav, and Gorillapod to DragonCon this year. The whole thing fit in a small sling pack and weighed like 4lbs... I actually edit on the 2019 Macbook Air when I'm on the road. Takes a little long, but I got such a good deal on it (under $900 including dongle), I couldn't say no...
Long time listener, first time caller... I’m looking for a good travel camera. Seeing how you’ve done multiple reviews on both of these cameras, I was wondering what The Everyday Dad would choose for my situation. I’m a beginner that likes to travel and would like to document it. I want convenience, but I also want decent pictures. I’m choosing between the Sony RX100vii or the Canon M50. Which? And what does the one have over the other that would suit my needs? TIA
Thank you for all the awesome tips. I will be getting a Zoom for audio. I think that's one thing I don't have that I should, if an audio dinner like that. I use just microphone a and Jack's now.
I see you STILL Rockin the Panasonic which is AWESOME, As I am Still ROCKIN my Lumix G7. I am going to purchase Another Panasonic, the gx85 as i love the Travel compactness of the camera and the Micro Four Third's lens makes it a PERFECT Secondary Camera.
Waiting for the Gopro Hero 8 to come out to see if it's good enough, otherwise I might get the Osmo action but my biggest concern is the narrow field of view
Over the last 10 years, I've reduced my travel kit to the following: On me -- LX10 on a Zhiyun crane M; a old Canon s95 on the pocket; 2 extra batts for the LX10; 2 extra batts for the crane M; On the wifey -- a ZS200 on a Manfrotto Befree Live CF tripod; a Gopro 6 & a IphoneX (for her social media); extra batts for the ZS200. The 70D & her 100D stays at the hotel. The Spark stays home if we are abroad -- too much of a hassle. No dedicated audio gear for me as I don't vlog. No laptop as I don't edit on vacation.
I haven’t run into any issues trying to get my videos imported from my a6300 to the iPad Pro. I just use the Apple USB C to USB adapter and connect my camera directly to that. Not sure how he was sending videos to his iPad but this has been working for me.
Mark Attardo I know it doesn’t work if you try to pull the SD out of the camera and use the SD card reader adapter. It only reads photos that way. But yeah if you turn the camera on and plug it directly into the USB C to USB adapter it should work for transferring the video files.
I haven't been able to balance the a6400/6500 with the Sigma 16mm. Others have tried as well and it just doesn't seem to work. It's to front heavy and I think it exceeds the weight limit of the Crane M2
@@ProjectReed I would wait. Zhiyun is going to release compact gimbal with weight of 880g and size of A4 paper in standard form without this additional handle like Weebill
Awesome video! I really liked this one, because I do a decent amount of Vlogging! I am new to you're channel, and am really enjoying what I am seeing so far! (and I subscribed) I can not wait to see more! got to go watch some camera video! see you next video! :)
Great videos , have the same mag filter but not 100 percent on how best to use it for video , any help most appreciated thanks , only learning this stuff
Was it just the Sony footage that was incompatible with the iPad? I was really considering the iPad Pro for editing videos. I don’t use Sony cameras. Mostly iPhone and GoPros. Would love to hear more of your thoughts on the iPad as an editing platform.
Shit, I'm gutted to hear about the Sony files not working on the iPad Pro. I was hoping to upgrade my setup to either a Sony RX100VII or 6400 with an iPad Pro. Is the issue with files something that was just specific to you, or is it a total deal-breaker for pairing those two things together?
Having a tough time keeping up with this year's recommendations, but do you think the Zhihun Crane will balance with the EOS M50? Thanks and safe travels.
Hey I’m trying to decide between the rx100vii and the rx10iv I want attachable nd filters how are the magnetic ones? For the RX100 And then how much better is the active steady shot for 4K recording vs rx10iv
Why does the panasonic app work on ios and says "not compatible" with an android tab? I was planning to take a page outta your book and use a controller with the lumix g7 (i do that a lot with my action cam).
The Everyday Dad were you trying to use the SD card adapter with your Sony camera? For some reason the Sony file structure doesn’t allow videos to be seen by the iPad through the SD card. But if you plug the camera straight into the iPad with USB C to USB adapter it should work.
We used to go back and forth on her official name. It’s been everyday mom, everyday wife, wonder wife, she could never settle on one name. It’s just easier this way 🤣
You called that Macbook an iPad Pro! Why are you blaming your woes on the iPad Pro and not the Sony? Seems unfair. I think you have been bought and owned by Sony, dad.
That Manfrotto Pixie tripod is super underrated, especially for the price. I love using it with the RX100V 👍
Its basically my favorite tripod of all time.
The Everyday Dad try the Joby Handypod. It’s basically the Pixie with a more ergonomic grip. I just picked it up open box on eBay for 12 bucks!

Please do a review for the magnetic ND filter on the RX100 VII.

I love that darn RX1007. The more I use it the more I bring it with me everywhere.
*Looking into the Canon XF400 and RX100VII for a Channel upgrade for myself. Maybe the XA50 but I want all the slo mo options from the XF400*

Well thanks so much!
Your vids are so helpful and I’m trying to save up for a camera for myself bc I’m still young but thx so much for you great vids!!!

It's pretty nice that they still use the NP-BX1 battery. A low-budget option to the Osprey might be the Ikea Upptäcka backpack.

Gracias, Thanks for yo great job! Which camera do you recommend? A6400, A6600 or RX100??? Etc.... or I don’t know 🤔
The lensmate is a better option than the mag filter for video in my opinion , you havnt the worry of knocking it off , shipped to the U.K. no problem
I am a slacker and just watched this! Can’t wait to meet up in less than two weeks at Camera Camp! Woot! Nice portable setup.

I'm going to Asia for six months, so this is just in time. I have been looking at an SSD for clearing my cards when they're full.

For a UA-camr that is currently recording on an iPhone 11 Pro Max. Do you recommend the Sony RXVIII or the Panasonic GH5?
Thank you very much for your videos, today thanks to you I found the led light panel of my dreams :-)
Legit loving this kit ... added a few things to my Amazon cart for later.
Great kit! I have to say you just scared me away from Sony. I use an iPad exclusively for video editing....
I haven’t run into any issues trying to get my videos imported from my a6300 to the iPad Pro. I just use the Apple USB C to USB adapter and connect my camera directly to that. Not sure how he was sending videos to his iPad but this has been working for me.
@@dericsanchez4081 Did Sony change their file type? Just a random guess. But that's good to know, much appreciated.

Like I said, I don't have problems often but that one catastrophic problem was enough to scare me off from using it as a main editing rig.
@@dericsanchez4081 Info much appreciated!!
I wish you had linked to all of the products you mention including batteries, power hub, etc.
At last you made one with crane m2 but please make a video about crane m2 with sonya6400 with sigma 16mm
I haven't been able to balance the a6400/6500 with the Sigma 16mm. Others have tried as well and it just doesn't seem to work. It's to front heavy and I think it exceeds the weight limit of the Crane M2
This setup doesn't work with Crane M2, other youtubers tested this already.

Great videos , have the same mag filter but not 100 percent on how best to use it for video , any help most appreciated thanks , only learning this stuff
It's so interesting - Sony takes you out on a couple of dates and suddenly she's your bae. Camera, headphones, all that.
Was it just the Sony footage that was incompatible with the iPad? I was really considering the iPad Pro for editing videos. I don’t use Sony cameras. Mostly iPhone and GoPros. Would love to hear more of your thoughts on the iPad as an editing platform.
Yeah for some reason its just Sony. Works perfectly with Canon, Panasonic, etc.
The Everyday Dad Thanks
You should jump back on the osmo pocket, it's much better now! But I'd like your honest opinion on it!
I literally just got one in today to try out the new autofocus.
The WH1000M3 headphones are great
Will the Crane support the A64/6600 ? I don't see me getting the RX100VII anytime soon after getting the A64/6600
Ikonik Modz it will work with he a6400 and the kit lens. Not sure about the a6600 though.
It holds the a6400 but I dont think it would do well with the a6600.
It will do a6500 and 10 to 18
A lot of good info. Thanks.
Thanks so much!
I have a quick question: How do you transfer your video from the camera to the iPad? Does it drop the quality of the video by doing so?
Shit, I'm gutted to hear about the Sony files not working on the iPad Pro. I was hoping to upgrade my setup to either a Sony RX100VII or 6400 with an iPad Pro. Is the issue with files something that was just specific to you, or is it a total deal-breaker for pairing those two things together?
I think you have a lumix g7 if so could you try it with the crane m2.
I haven't had a Lumix g7 in a couple years sorry.
The Everyday Dad it’s okay 👌
Having a tough time keeping up with this year's recommendations, but do you think the Zhihun Crane will balance with the EOS M50? Thanks and safe travels.
The M2? I bet it would unless you had a huge lens on it. I can get it to balance with the a6400 and the 10-18 lens which is pretty big.
Any spare cameras? Send them my way! LoL
Nice camera indeed. Price will most likely go down if demand increases. 👍 Good stuff !
Hey I’m trying to decide between the rx100vii and the rx10iv
I want attachable nd filters how are the magnetic ones? For the RX100
And then how much better is the active steady shot for 4K recording vs rx10iv
That is a a lot of kit....do you actually use all of those cameras???
After your reviews on rx100 vii I am confused if I should upgrade from a6000 to a6600 or rx100 ! Tham...
Not a regular every day dad can afford all that kit.
My thoughts exactly, these UA-camrs change there gear every month, no every day dad could afford that, and still support their
family!
What camera did you use to film this in the studio?
I think this was the GH5 👍
For fast moving videography what your recommend camera?
Why does the panasonic app work on ios and says "not compatible" with an android tab? I was planning to take a page outta your book and use a controller with the lumix g7 (i do that a lot with my action cam).
I don't know, I get it to work with my pixel 3a all the time.
So what do you suggest the Sony Rx100VII or the A6400. Go Bucks!
Depends on your needs. If I only had one camera I'd probably recommend the A6400, its the better system to build off of.
What was your workflow with your iPad Pro? How were you getting the footage over?
Just importing it with either the SD card dongle, wifi router, air dropping. I used basically every way imaginable.
The Everyday Dad were you trying to use the SD card adapter with your Sony camera? For some reason the Sony file structure doesn’t allow videos to be seen by the iPad through the SD card. But if you plug the camera straight into the iPad with USB C to USB adapter it should work.
Is the new Sony 6100 better then the rx?
Man I wish I had a company send me a gimbal for my Sony a6300
It comes with the territory of making a crap load of UA-cam videos 🤣
You heard it man, just create tons of UA-cam videos and you'll get where he's at. Everything is a process.
Have you ever tried to connect an external mic to the Sony RX100 VII while mounted on the Zhiyun Crane M2 gimbal? This has been a challenge for me.
Yes rode micro onto a small rig cage
