Went to the beach for the first time in months as it's finally a bit quieter down there.
What else would I take but the Tamiya Lunchbox, the best fun beach basher.
I explained in my review of it why I think so, so check that out if you haven't seen it.
Met Nick (RC You Next Time) who also brought his brushless Lunchbox. All Covid compliant as you are allowed to meet one person in a public outdoor space.
Much fun was had and no breakages.

Ha yeah it was my mate Nick who suggested using the beach showers. It was a great idea and saved my car boot from getting so sandy when I threw the Lunchie in there. Many thanks for watching 😀

Oh yeah it's really great down there out of season with the tide out. The Lunchbox is perfect with those tyres and sealed gears. Definitely a beer after but fish and chips was the next day! Many thanks for your comments John. Hope you are staying well too 😁

Many thanks mate. Yeah the poor Lunchboxes have a hard time with the sand and salt but usually ok after a little shower. So much fun to be had with these at the beach :-)

The Lunchbox is probably the quintessential beach basher. Especially if it's brushless AND waterproof.

Hiya Nick. Ah yes I will have to start saying Canadian Nick and British Nick to avoid confusion. Don't want people to think that you have broken the travel restrictions and popped over to the South of England for an RC bash session! Anyway, yes it was good fun. Beach is finally quiet enough to RC on. Was crazy in the summer because the whole of Britain turned up here as they couldn't go abroad. Anyway hope all is well with you and yours my friend. Hiya Pete. Ah it is a shame that we couldn't get you down here but I think that would count as unnecessary travel under the current circumstances. Nick is lucky enough to live a short walk from the beach. We will see what happens in December and the new year with the rules. Hope you are well and getting on with your projects. Amazing video! I can attest, the Lunch Box is a lot of fun to drive around! May I ask, how do you film the Lunch Box while it's running? During the epic sand run, the camera is following and keeping speed with the two Lunch Boxes. How do you do that, and what equipment do you use?

OK, I must know what battery and motor you are running? Looks to compliment that Lunch box perfectly. I'd love to have a same setup in my Monster Beatle.
Hi there. It's got the Absima Thrust 3420kv convo and a 2s shorty lipo. There is a Lunchbox review and mods video on my channel that shows the changes I made to this. I think that the Monster Beetle needs that MIP diff to go brushless without breaking doesn't it? Anyway hope you have fun with it. Thanks for watching 😀
OH YEAH!!! That's what I'm talking about - as I said to Chris Vallone, this kind of RC madness is what inspired me to make videos in the same vein. Glorious fun, just for the hell of it, and just because you can. The shot at 0:55 was my favourite, I think I would have opened with that one - sooooo cloooooose! It was worth waiting for UA-cam to render this one, looked fantastic HD on my screen, Lou and Alf watched it with me so you get three big thumbs up - oh sorry, six thumbs up, it was that good! Bottoms up! :))
PS - loved the parasail in the background, reminded me fondly of my DT03 beach bash in Wales! Adds nicely to the mix! :)
Hiya matey. Yeah this type of video is where my heart is really but I have to mix it up a bit with the other stuff. Was great to get a bit of sunshine. Makes such a difference to the video. Yeah I did think about that video you did with the kite (sail ?) in the background. Does add something. Anyway just settling down with a drink after a hard days wrenching and videoing. Doing a final Senton top tips video. Should be out in a few days. Hey we should try and do that video chit chat thing. Like I say, if we come across as pillocks then we don't have to use it. I'm sure we have a lot of fascinating things to say! Anyway I'm just going to get back to Terminator Dark Fate. A pretty good action movie so far. Cheers for now mate. Great vid.....now I want to run a brushless motor in my lunchbox too, is that a 10.5 t motor? I have the hornet pinion in mine at the moment, would be crazy with a brushless motor!
Hi. Sorry for late reply. UA-cam didn't alert me. Anyway I'm not sure about the motor turns but it's a 3500kv Absima Thrust combo running on 2s. Yours might be over geared with a Hornet pinion and the big Lunchbox tyres. You'd certainly get some silly top speeds for a Lunchbox! Good luck :-)
@@PeteWylieRC I tried it....was far too quick for the lunchbox, couldn't turn or slow down without it flipping! 😂
@@Tony-cheesy Yeah, maybe use the standard Lunchbox pinion. Still goes 25mph from what I remember of the speed test.

Was a tiny bit of snow I seen there? LOL.
Ha, no just a bit of froth from the sea! The last time we had snow here was about 5 years ago. The more northern parts of the UK get much more than we do. Trouble is that when we do get about 2 inches of snow everything grinds to a halt because we aren't used to it!

Hey do you have to change the gears when you make it brushless please respond back need to know this before I purchase one
Hi there. It's got standard gears from the kit and full ball bearings. I did a couple of build and modifications videos of this which shows all the changes I made. Worth mentioning the bit about getting the pinion gear in the right place with a brushless motor because the shape of it is different to a brushed one. If you watch the video you will see what I mean. Thanks for watching 😀
