How blessed we were to grow up w/The Statler Bros & The Oak Ridge Boys!! And not only that, we grew up w/the amazing Kenny Roger's. Along w/the late, great beautiful Dottie West!! I wouldn't change a thing in my life!! The best of country was years ago & how much we are all still dedicated to these legends!! We'll never see the likes of them again. RIP to those we've lost through the years too.

Closest you'll get to the Statlers and Oak Ridge Boys would be a Gospel group known as Signature Sound. That group also sings Broadway hits. Other groups I would recommend would be Triumphant Quartet, Booth Brothers, and Home Free.

We grew up to the Statler brothers and one on my moms favorite song was Flowers on the Wall. She got to meet them and said they were all so kind and approachable. I grew up to watching Captain Kangaroo in the mid 60's. When ever I hear that song it takes me back to a safe wonderful time as a kid... When country was true class and royalty.. RIP Harold and Lew..

Harold and Don please consider making a song and/or a video regarding America. At this point in time we the people need a touch from the past to rally the old time beliefs that formed our great nation. John Wayne has passed, Roy Rogers has passed......you guys are the only living reality of the "real" past we have (Great Entertainers). You have and still represent the United States of America as historic patriots. Please consider this request. The younger generation need to hear from you.

James Lowery Hey thankyou for the reply, however I think we’re thinking of a different song here.
The song you mentioned “Oh Elizabeth” is more of a ballad and doesn’t really sound anything like the song that starts at the beginning of this segment that you can hear vaguely in the background. “Oh Elizabeth” plays at the end of the video. But I want to know what song plays at the beginning if anyone knows lol.

I don't know if it's true or not. Back in the early nineties when I went into law enforcement I worked with a guy who said he was once offered a job to be the bodyguard so to speak for the daughter of Don's while she was in college. He didn't say what year this occurred in. Once in a blue moon that pops into my mind whenever I see or hear some Statler Brother's. I can't ask the person who told me this because he has since past away.

    Dear Author,
It would be better, rather than say random memories, to connect the so-called randomness together for the reader of any book.
    .
The reader will automatically make their own connections in any book it reads, the opportunitiy to impose an individual bias or view is lost, if the contents of the book are random; leaving the reader supposedly, to peruse the index at the back for any connectedness with anything else.
    .
    Bad title.
    Cheers
    from,
    del-boy.
