I've been fishing offshore for the better part of 50 years, and this is some of the best explanation around planer fishing that I've heard yet. This is why I've followed your channel for so long... you are awesome!
You guys are great! Excellent info for us folks just learning off shore fishing. Also, appreciate that you guys don't do the typical "girls fishing in skimpy bathing suits" thing that's all over youtube... y'all got class!
Nice work!! Love seeing you guys on the new boat! Especially kona!🥰👍 would like to see a vid how you tie your biminis..saw your unis vid😉 Wishing you tight lines and screamin' drags🎣 go get 'em!
You ladies are just awesome! The educational episodes are probably my favorite. I'm close to retirement age and we're headed to the gulf so your videos are saved for reference. I also love my In Salt We Trust I received last week!
Thank you so much for this video. I been trying to learn this method of fishing and got frustrated by loosing lures because probably too 14:19 shallow or too much line out to the point I gave up. Still have the planners will use your instructional video and try again. We, my wife and I delight ourselves by watching you fishing with your sister and the fun you ladies have together. Hope eventually if you girls have kids will be just like you. Thanks a million again.
You can definitely lose lures if you get too shallow! We never go inside of 100! Separately, you could be losing lures because of too little line (not typically too much although both is possible). Make sure you have at least 100’ of 60# mono followed by 15’ of 60# fluoro leading up to the lure and after the bridle.
you girl's got a really interesting (for me) content, and I always wait how the Kona doin in all this activity's, and I'm pretty sure she enjoy as much you girl's does, or even more 🎣🐟🐠🐕🦺
Great video. Im glad too see you gals out fishing agin locally. Can't wait for the new rods. When is the bottom buster coming out? I love tmy do it all rods and my inshore reef slayer. Keep up the great work. Id love to see a collaboration with some of the other you tubers from south florida. Tight lines
My family and I will be down in key colony next week leaving this Saturday June 10th to the 16th and bringing the boat gonna go out to the marathon hump any advice would be appreciated, y’all’s new boat is awesome liked the old intrepid to.I Watch all your videos and sometimes twice for all the tips and tricks, I’d love to buy the gale force do it all rod soon. Love the channel.
I have watched a lot of bridle planer videos and have not come across a single one that says which hole of the swivel to put the cut snap swivel into. It makes sense to me not to have it on top of the mono and the braid to avoid the swivel fraying the lines. Is this correct? Thx. Great content as always !!
I'm curious about the planer digging into the braid sharing the same hole in the swivel. How long before the strength is compromised? If y'all ever want to fish with me in Destin Florida let me know. I'll take y'all to the DeSoto Canyon.
We put the planer on the Dacron side as opposed to the braid side which is stronger! We don’t run into any issues with it but of course check the gear before using it!
Greetings from Brazil. Love your channel and contente. One question: specificaly for kings, is a downrigger better suited for this fishery than a planer?
On your bridle how long is it? And does it matter when you switch your planer from smaller to larger if you wanted to make your bait dive a little deeper?
What size or lb strength are those double snap swivels? Brand? Also will those Spro swivels pass through the rod guides if I don’t have a track roller at the end or will they get caught? Thanks!
We don’t have roller guides either and have no problems with the swivels passing through. Just make sure the rod is heavy duty enough to handle the pressure!
Should the bridle be shorter or longer than the planer set up in trip mode. In other words, when the planer is tripped should the tension be placed on the bridle or on the planer? It looks like from your previous video, the bridle is shorter than planer and when it trips “goes whack😊” the tension now is on the bridle. Just confirming. Thanks again!
Which is better for you gals kingfish or sailfish, I had sailfish smoke it was the best fish I have had, better than tuna I think , but then again it was smoke by a Master and they weren't the really big ones, he was actually kind of famous in South Florida way back 60's 70's & 80's by the few locals that new him, in Virginia Key his was just know by the name "Jim" actually way back to the TV program "Flipper" were it was film !! I would like to see your technic for Sail fish ! Much Blessings 🙏 to you both! And 4 legged mate 😁🤗/😎🤙

I love that you included a link directly to the gear you use. That is a great convenience and time saver. Thank you!
Learning new stuff watching your vids saves me time and money. Many thanks to you both.

What an absolute wealth of information you two are. Thank you!
Another great video. Can you ladies make a video showing the whole setup and please explain why you do it that way. Thank you for another great video.

I wish I knew y’all in real life. Genuinely good people.
Excellent and amazing.,nice work beautiful ladies..from Philippines!
Interresting.. we call those divers here in denmark.. planers stay on the surface and plane to each side...
On the west coast.
I happily traded my tuna for Bonita. Bonita are great eating here.
I believe our east coast species of bonito is different from yours! They are not tasty 😆
All around great video ❤ it!

Question, what do you have your drag set at on your planer set ups? Especially the #8 planer set up. Do you get any line creep with the larger planer?
Amanda showed that big King how to pole vault LOL
I can’t wait to try it
I'm curious about the planer digging into the braid sharing the same hole in the swivel. How long before the strength is compromised?

What length of rod are you guys using? Class? Do you think the swivel top on the rod is beneficial? Will it be part of the new planer rod?
Greetings from Brazil. Love your channel and contente. One question: specificaly for kings, is a downrigger better suited for this fishery than a planer?
Did you put a bonita strip On the Bonus rod with the Islander lure?
Nope! Just the lure by itself
With the planer sizes that you were using, running 5-7 kts; approximately how deep are they running the lures at?
Wow impressive!
Great work
what Roller tips are you using or recommend?
On your bridle how long is it? And does it matter when you switch your planer from smaller to larger if you wanted to make your bait dive a little deeper?
Great video! I'm a little surprised you don't use a rod butt cushion--easier on the abdomen.
Love you Amanda❤
What size swivel tip on the rod to let the wind on swivel in ?
what is the purpose of Bimini on the braid side? what not tie a uni knot direction to the swivel?
Strengthens the line! Especially when there are knots being tied. Knots weaken line so tying the uni helps balance that out.
@@GaleForceTwins thank you so much!, you guys are AWESOME!
Great video thanks
May i ask what size the double snap swivels are?
Pity about the hoo. 😢 Taxman got a great meal off that beautiful chunky fella. 🦈
What kinda rod you using? I couldn’t find it on the web page.
What size or lb strength are those double snap swivels? Brand? Also will those Spro swivels pass through the rod guides if I don’t have a track roller at the end or will they get caught? Thanks!
200 lb swivels, #4 spro. We have everything linked here www.amazon.com/shop/galeforcetwins/list/2W547XGQP71HR
We don’t have roller guides either and have no problems with the swivels passing through. Just make sure the rod is heavy duty enough to handle the pressure!

what is the bridle line, braid? Or does it even matter?
How much floro before your 100ft mono?
Would you guys be willing to sell some premade trolling rigs?
Do you guys have Gale Force Kona shirts I'd buy one
Do you get bitten off a lot not using wire?
Where can I buy your planer rods?
Is it possible to loose the planner..?l
Which is better for you gals kingfish or sailfish, I had sailfish smoke it was the best fish I have had, better than tuna I think , but then again it was smoke by a Master and they weren't the really big ones, he was actually kind of famous in South Florida way back 60's 70's & 80's by the few locals that new him, in Virginia Key his was just know by the name "Jim" actually way back to the TV program "Flipper" were it was film !!

Much Blessings 🙏 to you both!
And 4 legged mate 😁🤗/😎🤙
What is the cost of the planer rods?
If you can’t find the weighted skirt you can stuff a bullet weight in the squid head.
Awesomeness
Catch a lot a a fishes prepare different style fashion eat .that's what most subscribers sub for .
