*Zipporah, Moses’ Midianite wife, reminds us that God can use anyone, regardless of background or circumstance, to accomplish His purposes. Zipporah, a foreigner, became an important companion to Moses in his journey to liberate the people of Israel. To everyone reading this, may God grant our brothers and sisters the openness to accept and love everyone, regardless of their cultural or background differences.*
Wow, the story of Zipporah truly amazed me! I never realized how significant her role was in Moses' life. Especially the part where she saved Moses by performing the circumcision ritual - it’s both mysterious and deeply meaningful! A woman who wasn’t even an Israelite yet acted so boldly and with such understanding is truly admirable. Zipporah deserves much more recognition in Biblical stories. This is absolutely fascinating!
Thanks for this video. I like the fact that you are clear in stating there is much discussion among scholars about certain aspects. Keep the videos coming. I love listening to you explain and enlightening the scriptures.
Moses didn't circumcise his son as he was supposed to do. Zipporah, knowing that God was angered by this, did the circumcision herself. It is a tradition that men only performed at that time. She saved Moses's life by doing so.
I agree, this is how I see the situation as well. Because the husband, Moses is the leader of the family, he should have performed the circumcision. Why he did not, could have been out of love and respect to his wife's heritage. She knew this. And talking to God, reminds him of her ancestral blood of Abraham takes matters in her own hands. Out of love, guilt, shame she defended her husband. A wife is compared to an army in the Bible...ezer kenegdo. Imo she repented. And repentance comes with action...the circumcision. A sacrifice. Zipporah, I hope to meet you one day.
Here are a few things to consider: Zipporah may not have been Moses' first wife. Josephus the Jewish historian tells the story of Moses marrying an Ethiopian princess when he was commander of the Pharoah's army. This would have been before he fled Egypt to Midian. That he was married to an Ethiopian is reflected in Numbers 12.1 where we are told that Moses had a Cushite wife. Cush is the ancient name for Ethiopia. So, Moses had two wives, one an African and the other an Arab. Also, we are told that Zipporah's father was named Reuel in Exodus 2.18. Many suppose that this man had two names, because we are told in Exodus 3.1 that his father-in-law was named Jethro. What most forget is that between the end of chapter 2 and the beginning of chapter 3, forty years has passed, and Moses is no longer 40 but 80 years old. No doubt Reuel is dead by now, and has been replaced as priest by Jethro. Besides, the Hebrew word translated as father-in-law merely indicates a relative by marriage. I imagine that Jetho is Moses' brother-in-law.
Zipporah or Tsipprah in Ethiopian is Ethiopian and daughter of a king called Raguel. Mediam is the land of the then ethiopia through the valleys of river ghion (nile). Josephus had cited it correctly.
Cush wasn’t an ancient name of Ethiopia. Its ancient name is Abyssinia. Cush is a place right in modern Sudan, at the time part of ancient Egypt. Cush was very powerful kingdom which invented the use of metal. Nowadays, a group of peoples’s languages is called Cushitic such us Somali, Afar, Oromia etc. of course, some of these groups live in present day Ethiopia!

Zipporah and Moses shared the same background even though she wasn't hebrew. Her line led back to Abraham. The reason why she knew the customs of circumcision because her people practiced Judaism.

You state correctly that Zipporah and her father’s family are Medianites, descendants of Abraham and his last wife Keturah. This means that Jethro’s family 😊are covenant children also. Moses, on the other hand, having been brought up in the Court of Pharaoh, means that most probably Moses may not have known of God’s covenant with Abraham - Zipporah, knew and was brought up in the covenant!
Moses had only one wife, the black Midianite Zipporah. White racist theologians have tried to give Moses a second wife, but the Holy Bible lists only one wife of Moses!
The Lord would not have killed Moses but punished him. If the Lord killed Moses, then who would be used to lead the people out of Egypt. God has his people who he plans to use to do his will, not ang and anybody.
Obedience. God needs us to be obedient to Him. Moses, being given the promise to lead God's people, needed to learn that "it's not a game.". God's Word does not fail and is absolutely true. Zephora's obedience is a lesson to us all.
Midianites being Abraham's descendants had to have the circumcision too so as not to be ' cut off,' from Abraham's lineage. That is the everlasting covenant God gave Abraham. So she knew the seriousness of it because God had warned Abraham thatanyn.man of his line who was not circumcised would be cut off from his people. Now, they had not circumcised Moses's children because they saw him as an Egyptian. That is how they introduced him to their Dad.
More than likely, due to her pagan practices, Zaporah was the reason their son had not been circumsized. Instead of upholding his covenant with The Father, once again, a man listened to a woman and did the opposite. Zaporah knew this, which is why she circumsized him the way she did and threw it at his feet.
who is here from the origen of human being the garden of eden (Gihon river) the promissed land and finally the light of the world (Ethiopia) by the way Moses trained in ethiopia by his wife father hisn name is Yotor! God bless ethiopia
I beg to differ slightly How about… Zeporah being the one who understands the monotheism more than Moses. Remember-She is the daughter of a priest in the lineage of Abraham. The very father of monotheism. Abraham must have raised all his sons to follow his one through God irrespective of if they were born by Sarah, Keturah, Hagar, or other concubines for that matter. Let us remember that Moses was raised in the house of pharaoh of Egypt from infancy . We all know that Egyptians historically were not monotheistic. So his knowledge of the ways of monotheism cannot be that I say this because she knew the problem when the Lord struck Moses and what to do to save Moses. The narrator also speaks about Aaron who was well versed in the ways of the Israelites, and some elders dinning with Jethro- the Priest of Medain. When describing Jethro, there is significance in the word usage of HIGH PRIEST if they were Idolators as implied; I doubt the highlight and emphasis will be as profound. We rarely saw the Bible describe the “High priest of Baal” for instance. If there was no commonality in belief, it would have been difficult. We can all attest to the hardheadedness of the Israelites of this time from biblical accounts. She was indeed special is all I can say . Thank you for the insight.

This stroy let black and white men also know that there is nit one race of people on this Earth that is pure without mixing. This show the beautiful mind of God, the Creator. Jacob had four sons that were half African and half Hebrew decent, so those black men proclaiming, that black men are the original Hebrews are teaching error.
What do you think about Zipporah's influence on Moses's mission? Do you believe her presence was essential to his success? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this
Thank you very much for showing the real possibilities that Jesus and civilization began in Africa. Although whites have taken these cities out of Africa and put them in the middle east. This story and others show people that look like me and we can relate to.We have been beaten and hurt in ways that we will never totally heal. We have to take this pain to the grave. It gives us hope that we are loved and that we count. Although civilization started in Africa and many people migrated to European countries and their color over time became lighter and lighter. People talk about the garden of Eden and don’t talk about the continent of Africa. We have been taught that none of the people in biblical stories told were my color. In fact, the opposite was taught concerning Shem and the curse put on him by Noah. I’ve read that part of the Bible paragraph and it’s inconceivable that the paragraph has been and is still used as a weapon against us to continue the racist rhetoric of slavery. Going into a country and killing people because of their skin color is reprehensible. Pitting people against each other is sadistic. Even now, especially with permission from Trump to hurt others, to act out, kill, and maim other people continues. We haven’t come very far and the people that stand on the sidelines and do nothing to stop it is as guilty as the people doing it. Now, people want to re-elect him again shows we haven’t learned anything.

Just because Moses sister Miriam accused him of marrying an Egyptian since Midian is in Africa people twist Bible story saying Moses has remarried which has no evidence in Bible. Through out Bible has two sons only through Zipporah. Please don’t mislead people.
It wasn't because zipporah was a darker skin woman, all of them was black. It was because GOD told Moses not to marry outside of his culture of the Jews
Deuteronomy 7:1-4 you shall not intermarry other races. you are right, because they will have us serving their gods. like today most of us are serving a man with long goat hair and very pinkish or reddish skin but the bible says in Revelation 1:12-15 He has hair like wool and His feet is like burnt brass meaning He is a very very dark Hebrew man. Not middle east and have olive skin. well olives are black, brown, or green so i know He wasn't green. and in order for it to be an middle East it has to be a middle west, north and south. so my sister I'm glad you are woke and knows about the white washing the Edomites have done.
According to the bible, it is Zipporah recorded as the wife of Moses.. why should Zipporah be mentioned as the first wife in this narrative as if there were other wife after Zipporah?
Maybe it was Zipporah who hadn't wanted to circumcise their sons so felt guilty, and hence performed the act. For Moses, it was necessary that he lead his family into the truth that God has an order of authority in a family, but even more that obedience to God is more important than a wife's opinions.
She wasn't Moses first wife. Jasher 72:35-37 [35]And they hastened and stripped off each man his garments and cast them upon the ground, and they made a great heap and placed Moses thereon. [36]And they rose up and blew with trumpets and called out before him, and said, May the king live, may the king live! [37]And all the people and nobles swore unto him to give him for a wife Adoniah the queen, the Cushite, wife of Kikianus, and they made Moses king over them on that day.
Your title says 'Zipporah Moses's first wife'. He only had one wife, her. Where do you people get all of this false info from? Don't just read the Bible, study it!

Okay. Is it me or is the story teller confused about at the color of Zipporah? Can you get your storyline to be focus on one or the other please?
She wasn't Moses first wife.
Jasher 72:35-37
[35]And they hastened and stripped off each man his garments and cast them upon the ground, and they made a great heap and placed Moses thereon.
Moshe had only one wife...
Did he had a second wife😮😮😮😮😮????
Yes
