The fact that Ellen clearly hadn't watched Doctor Foster was embarrassing. Well, either she watched it and ignorantly thought that Jodie's character's accent was American (which it clearly wasn't), or she didn't watch it at all. Either way, what she said was insulting.

Agreed. Everyone is blaming the audience and usually Ellen is usually the bridge between the guest and the audience with her humor. I think thats especially true because I dont think Americans are that well versed on Jodie Comer. I know her because i watched the White Princess, otherwise I wouldnt know her and therefore would not have been interested...

There is certainly a bland kind of humour of transcend borders and America excels at these because they are a nation of immigrants. But there is a more hard hitting humour that can be deeply embedded in language and culture.

Ellen was lying when she said, "I just saw season 2." She doesn't know anything about Killing Eve or Jodie Comer. Ellen faking it until she makes it.
Ellen really doesn’t care anymore. It’s painful to watch at this point. And guests who come on the show for promo (especially ones like Jodie who aren’t well known to casual main stream viewers) really just kind of end up wasting their time.

I think she genuinely has watched the show though, because she’s brought it up a few times saying she enjoyed it outwith talking about Jodie Comer, so I don’t think here bringing it up here was some byproduct of research. Perhaps her memory is just a little hazy on it.
Ellen only goes all out for her "celebrity friends" say it was Ryan Gosling or JLo it would have been different. I think Ellen is tired she needs to go do something else like Oprah did.

I was thinking the same thing but there was a barely audible chuckle after the pasta story.
Actually there were a few times when the entire audience laughed and made noise.

I dont think it was the audiences fault, I think Ellen was weirdly silent. Just a distinct lack of engagement and encouragement of Jodie's conversation, which honestly is a bit bizarre considering that's her job.

It's like the audience disappeared..feels like I was eavesdropping on the convo. The fact that I so enjoy seeing Jodie on my screen amplified the feeling that I was intruding.
All in all, loved the talk but the audiences lack of laughter at Jodies charming anecdotes made me feel like a creep
I was a little thrown off. The interview was really short I felt like Ellen didn’t do her research about her (just my opinion). Jodie is an amazing actress, hope to see more of her on Ellen.
I came from her interview with Seth Meyers and there was serious quality difference.

Asha Nimo the scouse accent is beautiful, it embodies an entire city of people that are united by their pride for their region. It is an accent that is linked to so much culture and history - I’d much rather listen to a scouse accent than a southern accent - southern accents can be incredibly irritating

Hannah Smith I’m also from Merseyside so I definitely have tones of the accent and have grown up surrounded by it. I’m doing a linguistics degree and to me it’s the most fascinating collaboration of sounds and regions

By the end of my trip, i just started putting on a fake American accent when ordering food, so that i received my correct order!

This interview clip was truly what made me wonder about Ellen’s genuine personality. She’s had slips here and there that aren’t compatible with her general persona. Now that the allegations have come forth, a lot of the intuition in these comments make sense.

I saw her in another series called “thirteen “ first before seeing killing eve and I was addicted 🤩 she is a great actor
Was not interested in her but I always saw her name on twitter bec of the last duel, I thought maybe shes good as they say, so I watched it but got bored and didnt finish it.... incidentally I was watching the spanish princess and got curious about their backstory and I found out about white princess and was surprised that it stared jodie,so I downloaded and watched it, I was amazed by her on the 1st episode and by the end, I think I was becoming drawn to her bec shes a great actress ahhaha...now I almost finished all of her filmography , im a big fan of her now,and I used to be saoirse's , I love those who are talented.
I think American’s struggle to understand Scouse. Absolutely love Liverpool and everything it stands for. Jodie is a phenomenal actress.

To think I didn't want to watch Killing Eve because of "the girl from Dr Foster". She was sooooo good in that series that I couldn´t stand the sight of her. Fortunately I came to my senses and now I´m telling everybody to watch it.

Couldn't make it all the way through. Both Ellen and the audience are so non-responsive it's awful. 10/10 to Jodie for keeping the energy up. Lord almighty, that's an impossible room.
