Beware that you use a European adapter, the output voltage is probably in the 220-240 range; double that of US-Canada voltage. Most appliances that you would travel with can handle it, but make sure.
100% Agree with RCL. All the multi outlets cause problems with the ship's power capacity. On the recent Ultimate World Cruise on Serenade OTS, there was a fire in one of the passenger cabins. A World Cruiser shared this information: " the passengers in the cabin had a multiport charger, which they plugged into the outlet, plugged in their devices and left the charger and the devices on the bed. The passengers then left the cabin. Sometime later the bedding caught fire, the smoke detector went off and the sprinklers in the cabin went off. The crew's fire control team then entered the cabin to extinguish the blaze."
You will be allowed to bring your Pap machine and cords. If you’re worried give NCL a call for peace of mind. In the event they take the cord, they will supply you with one to use for your machine. Your’s would be returned at end of cruise. But, this is highly unlikely. Have a wonderful cruise!
I honestly don’t know. If I had to guess I would lean towards no of it plugs in. They are banning potential fire hazards and to me that would fall into that category. Maybe you can bring the rod defusers that don’t plug in. But if you really want to bring that I would check with their customer service.
i don't trust any usb-connections in the airport or in unfamiliar place without a data blocker. I wish RCCL would be more specific and provide multiple examples, as it's still confusing to me. I have an international multi-plug cube that has 1 electrical outlet, but also included are multiple 'USB connections". is that a multi-plug, since it only has one electrical 3-prong plug ? I'm not sure you can answer that.
Just like appliances are certified safe for household use (UL in the US and Canada, other organizations elsewhere), they should be certified safe for ocean liners. An industry convention would make like easier for the crew, the ship owner, and the passengers.
Sounds like people should learn to disable background apps on devices they don't need when traveling. Better yet remove apps they no longer use to save space and battery usage. If cabin guest aren't paying, they should use the plugs last.
I’m waiting for them to announce that you can get special RC branded multi-plugs in any RC gift shop onboard. 🙄 Sorry for my cynicism but this reminds me of when the airlines - which have always said out your phone in airplane mode because otherwise it effects the instruments - suddenly announced they were considering letting people use their phones during flights for phone calls. Since that proposal went over like a lead ballon, the idea vanished and was never mentioned again. Funny how they went from “instrument safety” to “maybe we’ll allow people to use their phones” after alleged studies. I will keep my eyes on the other lines - I use neither RCCL or Celebrity. And I will find other options if necessary. But these dry docks had better be installing USB’s on the older vessels. And keep an eye out for the RC/Celebrity branded approved multi-plug advice. Only $49.95 but we approve it. Can only be used on OUR ships. Get one today at any RC or Celebrity onboard store. (I’m afraid I might have given them ideas 😂).
I hear ya!!! It is frustrating. You would think with the prices they charge for the internet they would want people to bring more devices on board because that would mean more internet usage. But, if they have had some fires or close calls with some of these cheaper plugs maybe this is the reason. I am going to see if I can find out some more information behind it. But you’re right, they maybe on sale in the gift shop before long. 😖
@@CruiseSavvy I apologize for the cynicism, but yes, let us know what happens. Like I said my cruise plans don’t include Royal or Celebrity, and if they’ve had major issues with the multi-plug let us know. I understand. But to kind of gaslight people with “well it’s always been there” - well I only recall no extension cords, no surge protectors. And FYI - I saved your plug recommendation to my Amazon cruise list. Anyway, thanks for getting the news out there. I have not heard this on several cruise channels so I know the word will quickly spread. Have a fantastic time on your next cruise. 😊
I had two on Liberty in my carry on. Zero issues.
I had two on Beyond in my suitcase. Zero issues.
October and November.
Oh nice!!

Great tip!
60Hz use
Yes, it’s crazy, especially on older ships Thanks for tips on additional USB/Outlets in cruise cabins!!! 🛳️🛳️
Hey Bee!! You bet! Hope you’re having a great week.

We definitely don’t want a fire on board!! Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Looking at NCL’s prohibited items, they don't even mention extension cords. I'm a little worried about running my BiPap.

Can you bring batteries on the ship? If so you could charge the battery during the day and use it to charge your phone over nite.
Great idea 👍
I recently purchased a European adapter that has USB A & C plugs.
Let me know if that works.
@@CruiseSavvy I'll try to remember. I actually bought it for a post cruise stay in Lisbon.
Does Princess allow essential oil diffuser?

Yah, I wish they would as well. I am going to take mine on my next cruise in Oct and see if they take it. 🫢

Absolutely!!

Great suggestion about disabling apps. That would definitely help save on battery life.

Anyone from the UK and Australia, need to bring UK TO EU and UK TO US plug adapter
Ahh good call.
